The wicker trunk....

When I got my new pillows yesterday, it left me with some country pillows that I didn't know what to do with.
So I started scouting around the house to see where else these colors would go and what I could use them for. There is a wicker trunk at the foot of my bed that I have never been happy with. It's just "sitting" there. I couldn't figure out how to make it look more welcoming.
So I looked around the house some more and I found this cute little prmitive pillow tucked in a storage box.
Then I went through the kids toys and found these teddy bears I had bought over the years at yard sales. The kids usually sleep with them when they visit.
So I put them all together and look what I came up with....
Now I ask you, doesn't it look cozy and welcoming now. Plus the bears are where the grandkids can get them easily when they stay over.I think it added a great touch to our master bedroom.

Don't you just love it when you can "shop" your house and come up with brand new ways to use what you already have!!! I'm trying to remember to do that FIRST - before hitting the antique stores.

Thank you so much for your comments on my HL post. I'm looking for the Virginia Rose - Fluffy pattern. There are soooo many patterns and some of them look so similar. The Moss Rose and the Fluffy Rose look very much alike (to me) which is why one of my first purchases was the wrong pattern :-( At some point, I guess I'll post them on eBay or Craigslist. Maybe someone got some Fluffy by mistake and they'll trade with me!!

Love your pillows, and that quilt is gorgoues. Did you make it? I have been experimenting with scrap quilts recently -- mainly because I'm trying to use up fabric scraps I have lying around. I will have to try a random square patchwork type :)

Thanks to both of you for your comments. No, Lynn, I wish I could quilt like that. The only quilting I have ever done are little baby doll blankets when my daughter was little. I must say that the patchwork style was easy when I did the little ones. I need to try a big one some time.

I love that. That looks so country. Makes your bedroom look so different. You need to keep it that way. Like to see your couch and the new pillows. M

The quilt on the back of the couch didn't go so good with the pillow so I'm looking for a new one to match the pillow and beach theme. I'll post a pic when I get that.
