A thank you to our Veteran's

Thank you to the men and women who have served our country and helped make it what it is today. A land of freedom. A place that we can feel safe. A place where we can worship in the religion of our choice. A place we call home.

I have two very special people in our family who proudly served their country. My daddy, Luther (Luke) Garretson, who served our country in World War II on an aircraft carrier for the U. S. Navy.

And my nephew, Jacob Garretson, who is currently serving his country as a U. S. Marine.

I am proud of both of these men. I wish Daddy were still alive to see the fine young man Jake has become. One of my favorite photos of Jake and his Papaw Luke. Daddy was trimming something and he was teasing Jake that he could trim his toe nails. And Jake, in his complete trust in his Papaw, lifted up his little foot. Daddy had to follow through and pretend to cut them.

Just one of those moments from my life that I will always cherish.
