Today our youngest grandson, Colby James, will celebrate his 5th birthday. I can't believe he is turning 5 already.
He was so tiny. And had a full head of hair. This is one of my favorite pictures of him and Papaw.
He smiled all the time and still does.
His grin can light up a room. He is always going full speed ahead and always finding something that makes him smile. He is a huge sports nut and he loves the Tennessee Vols. He was smiling in this picture because he was cracking up that he was riding with a Gator. Everything is about sports with this child.
You never know what he is going to do next. I was loading my car one day to go shopping and I always pack some empty Thirty-One totes to bring my groceries back in. This day, I unlocked the car and turned around to load my bags and it wasn't empty any more.
This is a perfect example of a typical Colby smile. It makes you wonder what he has been up to or what he contemplating getting into.
His love of sports is unreal. If there is a ball game, he is wanting to be right in the thick of it all. He wasn't very old here when he came to his cousin's game. And you can see that even at that little he was ready for the game.
He spent a lot of time playing with some of the other kids that were a lot bigger than him.
This past spring he had his first dream come true. He got to play real ball with a real team. He absolutely loved his tee ball team. They had an undefeated season. He played his heart out at every single game. Even at this young age, it is easy to see he will be sports kid for life. He loved it and he was awesome. He plays very, very good.
He takes it very seriously and is not one to just sit down in the door. He pays attention as if he is a major league world series. It's a hoot to watch.
Happy 5th birthday Colby James. Mamaw and Papaw love you.
