9/14/18

It's a special day today....

Today my first granddaughter turns 14. Where have the years gone. She was born two months early and weighed less than two pounds.

In two months, she came home close to her due date. Such a tiny little thing. We were mesmerized by her.

She has always been a happy child. Always smiling and laughing. I'm not even sure if she has a temper because I've never seen it.

How could you not love a sweet face like this. Those pretty eyes of hers just sparkle.

This one is one of my favorite ones because you can just tell how happy she was to be at Mamaw's house. She has always made me feel so blessed.

She has the the prettiest, thickest hair for such a little girl.

Full of life and happiness. And always ready to pose for my pictures.

She loves to read. And I love how much she loves to read and how much joy her books bring her. She can get stuck in a story and read to the point where she doesn't have a clue what is going on around her. My Mamaw Eden was a huge reader, my mom was a huge reader. I love books and you know by all my McKay trips that I'm a big reader. So it melts my heart that she has inherited that love of books.

She loves everything we do. She had a great time the first time I took her to the Stampede. We hung out so she could meet the riders and horses.

I can't believe she graduated 8th grade in June and started high school for 9th grade this year. Where oh where have the years gone. I do miss the sweet little girl, but am so proud of the beautiful young lady she is growing into.

I love you Alexis Caroline. I hope you have a very happy birthday.
