I had a great day yesterday. Before I went to work, I got all the bag I want to take to conference in a few weeks and started gathering some of the stuff I am going to need. I love this pattern, Navy Wave. I have several things in it because I love anything that has the navy or nautical theme.
My daughter-in-law had the great idea that I needed to have our friend Stevie Marie make me a pocket shirt with her new anchor pattern for the Thirty-One conference. I loved the idea since I am carrying the Navy Wave bag. They put their heads together and picked out the fabric (which is old Thirty-One swatches), the shirt and the thread. I am absolutely in love with the final product. I can't wait to wear it while carrying my bag.
And to make the day even better, I got a new bowl!! My friend Jess at Plain Folk Treasures got in her first Pyrex bowl and I snatched it up about 2 minutes after she posted it. I am in love. I have been looking for this 402 in this pattern since last fall. I am thrilled to finally have it. She is getting more Pyrex in this weekend and I am hoping she might get more of this or some other patterns I am wanting.
These two friends own a couple of neat businesses. You need to check out Stevie's Facebook page, Stevie Marie's, especially her back to school back packs that meet the mesh requirement of most schools and can still be customized to your child's favorite character.
And while you are on Facebook, be sure to visit Jess's online store Plain Folk Treasures. She has some beautiful vintage glassware for sale in several different colors.
I can't wait to see what she adds to her site next. The other day she got this old vanity someone was going to throw away.
She fixed it up, strengthened the wood and painted it. What a difference.
She even stenciled the drawers and lined them with vintage scrapbook paper.
She took this old chair...
....and gave it a fresh coat of paint and fixed it up for a sewing room. I guess we will all agree she is very talented.
