I woke up this morning to the sound of pouring rain. I didn't want to get up, but I had to. So I took a look at the weather map to see what to expect today.
It's not going to be a dry day, that's for sure. Then I decided to check Facebook. I always look at my memories to see what life was like on this day in past years. Well, last year was a horrible storm day in this area. I drove to work at 10:00 in the morning heading right into it. These cloud pictures tell the story of how the storm progressed the closer I got to work.
They were huge and rolling in so fast that it was scary.
At times, it looked like the clouds were coming out of the top of the mountains.
the more I drove the darker they got. Keep in mind this was 10:00 in the morning.
I remember it stormed and rained all day. That night coming home, it was even scarier because it was raining so hard I could barely see and lightning struck three different transformers on the roads as I was driving home. I know they were hit because the sparks flew and traffic lights went out as I passed by the flying sparks. Scariest driving day of my life. So I wasn't happy one year later to wake up to a weather report that calls for thunderstorms starting around 11:00 this morning and going until 3:00 in the a.m. tomorrow. It says part of the time they will be isolated and part of the time they will be scattered. Can part of the time they just not be here at all? My office at work is one of those rooms where you can hear storms and rain really, really good. Problem is I've had a long week and I'm exhausted so I will just want to go to sleep if the storms come. Hope you have a great day.
