I wanted to update you on my friend Stephanie who had the double lung transplant. She did go home to an apartment in Nashville close to the hospital a week ago yesterday...just 6 days after the transplant. The team of doctors continue to tell her they have never seen anyone move forward as fast as she has. One doctor told her "I don't know who you have praying for you, but tell them to keep it up. It is apparent God is listening."
She is continuing to amaze everyone. Today it has been two weeks since the transplant. They give her goals and she is bypassing each one. When they released her, they wanted her to do daily breathing and the goal was to be able to breathe out at 800 and within days she surpassed that and was breathing out at 1200. Way to go Steph!
On Wednesday, she posted this.
Guess what everybody??? I WALKED A MILE TODAY AT PULMONARY REHAB AND MY O2 STAYED 96-97 THE WHOLE TIME!! I am so thankful for my husband who walked with me and helped me get that mile,if he wasn't there I would have stopped half way through! #lovingmynewlungs - I can't believe it's only been 12 days since my transplant!
But my favorite post of all was yesterday morning at 6:30 when she posted
"Loving not being on oxygen!"
She looks amazing for someone who just had a double lung transplant. She continues to give God all the glory and never fails to thank the family who made a tough decision to allow her to be so blessed. God is good!
