Happy birthday, Caleb

I want to wish my grandson, Caleb, a very happy 15th birthday.

Him and that curly hair. He was about 2 or 3 before they cut it the first time. It was hard to see his beautiful curls go.

A boy and his first dog. Spike is with him still and still attached to Caleb.

He went through the little biker dude stage when his daddy got a motorcycle.

I remember the day he got to said in the big Peterbilt with the dump trailer that his dad hauled scrap metal in. He really thought he was something.

About 4 or 5 years ago, one of his dad's cousins gave him a $100 for his birthday. He was heading to Bass Pro for a new fishing rod and reel. When he saw the Shriner's out front, he remembered a little girl from church that was burned when she was a couple of years old and new the story of the Shriner's help her be able to go to their hospital and get healed. So without a second thought he told his dad he could get a fishing rod anytime. He wanted to donate his birthday money to the Shriner's instead. When they heard about the story as to what he did, they honored him with a plaque for this thoughtfulness and caring. We were so proud of him.

He has always had a smile that just stops my heart.

Turning 15, he has perfected the "I don't smile in picturess" look that all teenage boys go through. But he is still a handsome young man and I'm proud of him.
