It has been forever since I have had such a crazy "what else can go wrong" day like I did yesterday. It started out just fine. Then we ended up with a Comcast crash that lost the internet and phone. Took awhile to get that fixed. The truck broke down on our way to town. Fortunately, it happened about 500 feet from our car guy. So $120 later and some kind of new switch we were good to go. Which sucked because I had did some freelance work that made me an extra $100 bucks this week. I was going to do some spring shopping. But that went out the window. We saw a recipe on Pinterest that was so easy. Reese cups, peanut butter, butter and Rice Krispies. Beware of recipes on Pinterest. We bought what we needed and when I made it by the recipe, it was a disaster. It was supposed to set up like chocolate peanut butter Rice Krispie bars. It ended up like chocolate cereal. I did some research and found the real recipe. They left out sugar, chocolate chips and corn syrup. They said 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and it should have been 1 1/2 cups. Here is what it should have looked like but it sure didn't. You can get the real recipe here.
But I've got a better feeling about today. I'm starting off with a healthy (yeah, right) breakfast of my two favorite food groups....peanut butter and chocolate. Keebler has some new cookies called Pitter Patters, they are similar to Nutter Butters, but they taste more like the peanut butter Girl Scout cookies. And I am love peanut butter cookies with Tru Moo Chocolate milk from Mayfield. Yummy way to start the day.
I'm heading out to AC Moore this morning to get some things for a couple of craft projects. I'm going to pick up some ribbon and scrap book paper to do this craft in Sunday School class in the morning. The kids love making things for their Mommy's. Not sure I can cut out the birdies, so I'm thinking we will change it to hearts for Valentine's and I'll get some pretty Valentine's ribbon.
And I have a home organizing project for this afternoon that involves shower curtain rings but doesn't involve the shower. Come back Monday to see what I do with these.
I think I may have decided on my new tennis shoes for spring. I am super easy on tennis shoes. I have some Skechers that have lasted about 4 years and some Reeboks that have been around for 3. Of course, when you mostly wear flip flops, it is easy to be easy on your tennis shoes. But I am ready to go back to Nike. I had a pair of Nike one time that lasted closed to 6 years and were barely scuffed. I just was tired of them. I found a pair I loved and they are daughter approved. Translated that means my fashion conscious daughter will not be embarrassed to be seen with me.
Well, I have been up for two hours and have not accomplished anything. I guess I need to get it in gear. Have a great day.
