My memories from today....

Do you ever click on your Facebook Memories to see what happened on this day in your past Facebook years?

Well, today my plans are to clean house and get it finally straightened back up from my busy past three weeks. I should be done by noon. Then I'm taking the grandkids to the local playground/park in Kodak for a picnic and to let them play. After that, when we are going to come back and make brownies and I am going to make a lemon pound cake. I am really energized and motivated today to get things done. But first, I always check my Facebook. In light of my plans for today, I found it extremely hilarious that these were my first two memories...

Apparently, I was not as motivated on April 30th in years past. The next things that I found funny was that the rest of my memories were about baking on a day I had planned to do some baking. First was something I experimented with. I cut Crescent rolls in to wide strips and rolled them up, baked them and then coated them in cinnamon sugar. They were delicious. May try to do that again soon.

These were some type of apple cinnamon churro bites that was a recipe I saw online.

And I was intrigued by these little muffins so I ended up making these but just in cinnamon sugar and I made a batch of some in lemon supreme.

A french toast bake that hubby shared with me but we never did get around to trying it.

One of these days I am going to go back and try this caramel pound cake.

The lemon pound cake is what I am making later today, but my glaze won't be that thick. I just like a thin glaze all over.

There were two more things I liked in my memories and it was this vacation poster. This is so me. I take several books to the beach with me because there is absolutely positively nothing in the world as relaxing as sitting on the beach and reading a book. I get lost in my book and get sunburned every time, but it is so restful.

Well, those were my memories for the day. Now I'm ready to make some more memories. Have a great day.

Friday Foto Friends

I am linking up with Friday Foto Friends at Breathing in Grace

Ms. Debbie has some beautiful spring flowers over at Breathing in Grace. I am not a gardener by any means. But when my house 4 years ago, we had a snowball bush and I had no idea how to care for it so I just let nature take its course. It gets more beautiful every year.

We had horrible rains Wednesday night and I was afraid it would take a beating, but it is still looking great.

We also had a rose bush. I know nothing about rose bushes and I googled how to care for them and there was so many different answers that I decided not to worry with it. But I couldn't bring myself to cut it down. It is up against my porch on the other side that we don't go up and down much. I went out to check on my yard yesterday and was shocked when I saw these beautiful roses on my rose bush.

So of course I had to share it. I loved the way the sun was caught shining in the background on this picture of it.

A couple of the roses were in full bloom and beautiful.

But look at all the wholes in the leaves (the white spots). Apparently it has something wrong. How do I treat it?

All the blooms are on only one stem. But on the other side of the bush, this lone bud was just too precious not to get a picture of.

Don't forget to head to Breathing in Grace to see her amazing flowers.

Some fun finds on Etsy...

I check things out and blog a lot of my finds on Pinterest. But today, I want to show a few of my faves from Etsy. Starting with these adorable beach ankle bracelets. Of course you know it has to have a flip flop on it.

And I am starting to like the knuckle rings that I have seen some ladies wearing. I like the super think silver ones.

Here is my next dream set of mixing bowls from Pyrex. Let the search begin.

I really, really want a pair of barefoot sandals to wear to walk on the beach. I had a pair years ago that Avon sold but over the years I lost them. It's like foot jewelry for barefeet. Very cute. Check out this pair.

Another busy week at Mamaw's Place...

It's another week full of fun this week. Monday night, I actually went to my first Jamberry Nails home party. I had an awesome time. We got to do one of our fingers with some sample nail wraps she had. The we got to polish the rest to go with it and put a gel coat on top. I picked something not to wild so it would go with everything. Here was what I did. I love the sparkle.

Then last night I went to Colby's ball game. It is so much fun watching T-ball. They are adorable. But they have some great players and the game can get intense. It was a close one but we pulled it out in the last few minutes when Colby score the run that broke the tie giving us the win. It was at the new Cal Ripkin ball park called The Ripkin Experience in Pigeon Forge, TN. Sitting high on a hill surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains, the view from the clubhouse porch was unbelievable.

There's not a bad view anywhere.

The fields are amazing. It is artificial turf. I had to take my flip flop off and step on it. I couldn't resist. It was neat.

It's mid-week and I still have a couple things coming up this week and a wonderful weekend with a couple of the grandkids coming for the weekend. Have a great Wednesday.

Some unique ideas and why some won't work for me.....

Here are some neat ideas. Some I love and some just won't work for me. I do need to get some silicone cups for my car cup holders. I love this idea.

This is so pretty looking. It would work and I have been keeping my eyes open at yard sales to find the pedestal I can paint.

Really good idea, but I only own one scarf. And it is a winter one that hangs on the hanger of my coat. So this definitely is not one I would need.

An awesome idea. But two things....notice how close the items in the cabinet set to the edge of the shelf. Notice how thick the plastic containers are and notice how thin the door is. I don't think it would shut unless you move the stuff on the shelf toward the back of the shelf, reducing usable space. Plus the last time I only owned 6 bottles of nail polish was in the 8th grade when I started polishing my nails I usually have no less than 20 some bottles and at one time had about 50 some bottles. So slots for 6 bottles is a no go.

This is really neat. But I usually just go to the dollar tree and buy my bag and tissue paper as needed. I wouldn't want to take up valuable floor space with a cabinet for this purpose. But it is a nice idea.

I have a bottle of Aleve, some acid reflux OTC medicine and a package of cold pills. I'm thinking that while this is a good idea I am thankful that I don't need something that will hold that much medicine.

I am guessing these are soft cotton summer dresses. I have two. I will just stick with a hanger per dress. But if it is tank tops then yes, I have about 10 or 12 tank tops so this is a great idea for them. Especially when I travel to the beach.

This is pretty neat but I don't have the room for it. Do love the idea though.

What a great way to store paper towels or toilet paper if you store them in bulk.

I have seen this before and love it. But is it safe to put food in something you spray painted?

Great idea for the snack size chip bags. I buy those a lot so this would be great to keep my variety.

And a wonderful way to keep your trash bags. I may just do this one for sure.

Have a great Monday.

A long week....

I do not recommend cleaning closets, having a yard sale and decorating for a wedding shower....all in one week. Been up late every night this past week as I pulled, priced and packed the last of my spring cleaning for the third yard sale I have had in four weeks.

I also don't recommend leaving the yard sale to go straight to the fellowship hall to decorate, realizing you don't have enough stuff, going to Walmart at 8:30 and grabbing Chik-fila-a on the go to return to the fellowship hall to finish the decorating. Got home at 11:00 p.m. after leaving that morning 6:30 a.m. Fell in bed by 11:15.

But we are so thrilled about the shower today for the country gal and her fireman. We figured a way to incorporated the blue and yellow of the bride's wedding choices in with the fireman she loves so much. Can't wait to see the happy couple this morning. My grandson Caleb is a cadet with the local fire department so he kindly loaned us his brand new boot for decor.

This is going to go home with the bride-to-be as a memento of her shower. I hope she likes it. Never thought of using burlap as a filler inside a glass vase. It turned out pretty cute.

And of course what princess doesn't want her firefighter to be he hero.

After the shower this morning, I need to go back and finish up helping with the yard sale. After that, I am taking everything to Mercy House thrift store. And after that I am going home to crash and pray I never have the bright idea to do three yards sales in one month ever again.

Friday Foto Friends

I have two ways home from work. The main highway or the back roads to avoid traffic. Tuesday, I took the back roads. Some of the pretty parts for you to see.

Last night I took the highway. At one stop light, I got a glimpse of heaven. That's what I call when the clouds have an opening and the sunshine beams come through. Look close at the break in the clouds and you will see what I mean.

I change bags so much since I love everything Thirty-One makes. Took my laptop to work yesterday and here was the bag combo for the day.

A friend gave me this beautiful yellow throw that is made for the foot of a bed. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is very bright yellow and matches the yellow in my bed spread perfectly.

She also gave me a beautiful braided rug in red. This now resides in front of my kitchen sink.

But the highlight of my week was to get my newest Thirty-One product. They won't be available until June when they will be the special. It is a medium utility tote with the stand tall insert that makes it stand up straight. I am in love. Just in time for the beach.
