School starts back today in our county. So I had my three youngest Grands yesterday for our last day of summer adventure. We decided to go miniature golfing at Ripley's Old McDonald Farm. We had three choices of courses so they elected to do the Cow Course. Our original plan was to do the Pig & Chicken as well, but after one game they decided they had enough of the heat for the day. But it was a great time.
Lots and lots of laughter, a couple of lost balls, and some serious study of each hole we got to.
We sure felt like we were on a farm since we had cows grazing.....
And old man fishing with his dog.....
And even a couple of pigs enjoying the sunshine (Although, I will admit I have seen pigs on farms laying in the sun before, but NEVER by a stream in their bathing suits.)
After the golf adventure and some arcade time, we went to Walmart to get a toy. As we were looking in the aisles, Shelby saw this and it was a little scary. It's one of the new Fashionista Barbie's. I said "Hey Colby check this out." He took one look and said "What is it? Like from the 80's or something?" Good question Colby. Not sure in what world this Barbie is a fashionista.
It wasn't long after that the kids all had to go home. So I went and picked up my friend Sherrie and we made a trip to McKay's to exchange some books. We went to a different Walmart than the one I went to earlier in the day. I saw this shirt that was like one I had in the 1970's. Is Walmart bringing back the past or what? Not absolutely loving all the "older" looks.
Then when we got home, I had a surprise package from one of my nieces, Lori Beth. I was definitely surprise. I couldn't way to see what was inside.
It was a Vera Bradley daily planner and two bags of my favorite chips, Snyder BBQ. They are hard to find down here so it was awesome to get some in a care package from back home in WV.
She knows me well. I love my planner. I am going to use this one for my work planner so I can keep track of the things I need to accomplish each day, my schedule and my to do list.
It was a really good day, but I am going to miss having three of my grands two days a week. With school starting and Colby still in baseball and starting into football, it is going to be hard scheduling time to get them for the day and overnight. I told Colby how much I was going to miss them and his response was "I'll see you at Christmas." He's a hoot. I did let him know I wasn't waiting till Christmas to see them. :)
