Where is Mamaw?

I've looked high and low and can't seem to find Mamaw. Her desk chair is empty.

Her keyboard is left open.

Her purse is in the living room like she is going somewhere.

I found these items in her purse.

OH! Now I know where she is. She's getting ready to go.....

To the premier of the Spring Catalog for her Thirty-One business.

My Christmas wish list....

Hubby is after me to give him a list of items to choose from for my Christmas this year. He is a rare man who doesn't mind shopping and he does good at picking things out. One thing I know I want is a new sweater. I saw this one at Sears and really liked it. It was super soft.

This is on my wish list, but it is a little expensive. They may come out with the paperback soon so maybe I can eventually get that copy.

I love these type of slip on house shoes. I am hoping he will be getting some of these. The pattern won't matter.

I need a new cover for my cell phone. I love this pink and brown. I don't even know where to tell him to look so I'm sure it will be a surprise if he can find one.

I want a new plush robe. I love this one I saw at Kohl's.

I would also like to have a pair of ankle boots to wear with my jeans.

Trend Report Women's Lindsay Fashion Boot - Brown at Sears.com

I also need a new pair of jeans. My "good" jeans are getting too big. I love being able to say an article of clothing is TOO BIG. I have lost about 10 pounds since last winter without even realizing it. So I need some new jeans.

This is my dream sweater. I saw it at Sears a few weeks before Thanksgiving. Not sure if they would even still have it now.

Of course, I always have PJ's on my list every year. But this year, my sleepwear of choice is a nice flannel night gown. One with just a rounded neck. I really love them in plaid.

That should give him plenty of ideas.

Time to think about baking...

Christmas will be here before we know it. It is time for me to start thinking about my baking and what I want to make. I got my newest cookbooks down to get some ideas and gathered my list supplies and my reading glasses.

It goes without saying that I will bake my mother-in-law's recipe for orange cream cookies. This are a must every year.

I thought since Edgar has been such a good elf this year (so far) I would go find him and see if he wants to look at recipes with me. I was a little upset with him when I found him riding my pine cone deer.

We made these at bible study one night as our craft and I kept mine in a safe place. Edgar better stay away...or else.

We settled down to look at recipes and I started with one I got last year from my son and his family.

I really like the looks of the banana bread recipe and this makes a great gift.

While I got up to go get my morning Pepsi, Edgar borrowed my glasses and found the peanut butter fudge recipe he wants me to try.

I went over to check out my Pyrex mixing bowls to see what ones I might be using this year.

And I came back to find Edgar making my baking list. You will notice it is all cookies.

I am going to have to keep them sealed tight when I make them. Remember what I found him doing after a day of baking last year? He was bouncing off the walls for a week after this fiasco.

I guess I'll be on my own this year. He may just cause a little too much trouble with the cookies.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I finally got the living room and kitchen decorated. We moved some furniture around a little differently. We actually decided to buy a real tree this year so we put it in the corner. Why is it real trees look too small ... until you get them in the house? But I am happy with it. I love big fat trees.

I still decorate like my mommy did with lots of old fashioned ornaments and icicles. We have a lot of Shiny Brights on the tree that belonged to Hubby's grandmother.

I love the table runner Mom made for t my coffee table. It goes good with the Santa plate I picked up for .50 cents at a yard sale.

I love the little snowmen corner. Especially the candy dish full of Junior Mints.

Hubby is a train nut so I had to get him this afghan.

Back in the early 90's I worked with a man who was good at woodworking. He made me these little dear and sled. They fit perfectly in this little window sill.

This did not photograph well. It is my favorite Santa along with a tree painted by my oldest grandson before he ever started school and a deer my mom made in ceramics.

I collect Emmett Kelly, Jr. clowns. I have four that are Christmas ornaments.

I got to meet him several years ago and he autographed all four of them.

My little poinsettia basket is the first thing I sit out every year. My Mamaw Eden took me shopping when I was 5 years old. She bought me this at McCroy's Five & Dime for .10 cents. It is one of my most prized possessions.

I just adore this little birdhouse and the salt and pepper Christmas trees. I got them last year at a yard sale for just .25 cents.

Some of my Santa collection.

My Nativity collection.

Just a little display I like.

My "Beary" red wagon.

A cute little gift from my Secret Sister last year. I love it.

Two cute towels in the kitchen.

More .25 cent yard sale finds this year.

I love my candy tier. It's one of my favorite things to set out each year.

My Rudolph clock. I love Rudolph and this sings the song on the hour.

My Pyrex snowflake collection.

My new tablecloth. I love it.

I love my snowman bowl.

After I got done last night, I just stood back and enjoyed the Christmas feeling.

Have you decorated yet?

My new favorite spot

I woke up this morning and found the gang in my new favorite spot. They look so laid back. Hope they aren't just resting up to get into some mischief.

I love my new spot. I had to move this shelf to make room for the Christmas tree. I put this basket on it and there are 5 Christmas books in it that I want to read this season. I love the little angel with her book and the little Santa holds my reading glasses.

I moved it beside my favorite easy chair and now I have my own little spot to settle in and read....if I can keep the Three Amigos out of the chair.

What is your favorite spot to read at your house?
