A surprise on my desk....

I came in this Monday with this surprise on my desk. It was an awesome Christmas basket filled with goodies from my dearest friend who also happens to be my bosses wife.

It had some awesome goodies in it. There was a set of coffee - cake mugs. It has a recipe on the back where you can actual bake miniature cakes in the microwave right inside the mugs. I'm going to try one this weekend. It had some  delicious Lindt's Lindor Truffles and and this adorable Christmas ornament with my last name initial on it.

There was a plush robe that is super soft and very warm. I've used it quiet a lot this past week.

She had also included a hot chocolate maker. I love hot chocolate and plan on getting a lot of use out of this.

Everything was neatly placed in this gorgeous basket that I am going to use in my craft room to hold some of my craft supplies.

In the very bottom of the basket was something that made me squeal. My #1 item on my Pyrex wish list. I love it. It is the Shenandoah pattern that I have been wanting for months but could not find.

This was one awesome gift baskets and I am very thankful for all that she and her husband do for me. Thanks, Stevie & Eric. I loved the gift.

Where did that come from?

Once upon a time there was a little girl with a head full of golden curls.

Through the years she played Barbie's and baby dolls.

The years went on until the next thing she knew, she as a senior in high school and ready to face the world.

Over the years, God blessed her with two beautiful children and the man of her dreams.

The years went by and she watched her children grow and get married. She and her hubby were soon on their own, living in their empty nest.

The next thing you knew, she was told she was going to have a grandchild. The years went on and those calls continued until she was blessed with five beautiful (those sometimes a little crazy) grandchildren to love with all her heart.

Then she woke up this morning and she was 57 years old! How in the world did that happen? Where did 57 come from. I knew it would happen one day, but I never thought it would happen so soon. Oh, well. There you have it. I am 57 today. And I plan on enjoying every single moment of my birthday. Hubby is taking me shopping and out to dinner tonight.

A client of mine told me something once that I like to remember at times like this..."It's always a good day when you wake up on this side of the dirt."

I'm off to enjoy my birthday. Have a great day!

An adorable Christmas program

I got to go watch my granddaughter, Alexis, in her school Christmas program last night. I may be partial but she looked like a living doll. I just love her little freckles.

She was an elf in the program.

She was in a skit about an "Elf"is impersonator.

She was giving him what for. You can tell she was "an elf with an attitude". She played the part very well.

I did get tickled when they sang. She was a tad short for the microphone, but you could still hear her above the others.

She had all the right moves for their little dance skit.

It was a really great night and I'm so glad I got to see the program. I love you Alexis Caroline.

A very special day.

Thirty-six years ago today, God blessed me with the greatest gift. I gave birth to twins. Chris and Diana have been the biggest blessing of my life. As long as I live, I will never forget that moment when they wheeled me into the delivery room. I lay there looking around and I remember thinking "I always wondered what a delivery room looked like." As I was lay there looking and the doctor settled in, he quietly told the nurse to get another warm because he thought there were twins. Talk about the shock of a lifetime. We had no idea. Only one heart beat was heard my entire pregnancy. No matter how old they get, they will always be my babies and my greatest blessings.

I love you Chris and Diana. I hope you have a very happy birthday!

Weekend Wrap Up

On Friday morning, I got up early and made a lemon pound cake. I bake all the time, but never have used a tube pan. This was a first and I was so proud of how good it turned out....not to mention it was delicious. I wish I could share a piece with you right now.

In the mail that day, I got a birthday card from my mom and this adorable doily that she crocheted and made yo yo's for. I just love it.

She also enclosed this little red one which I put under a tree she got me a few years ago.

We had a family gathering to celebrate December birthdays (my twins and myself). I got this awesome robe from my son and his family. I've been getting a lot of use from it on these cold mornings. Plus it is one of my favorite patterns...black and white polka dots.

My daughter and her family bought me this cute wax burner with some great Christmas fragrance. I love how this looks like a cable knit sweater.

On Saturday, we had our Thirty-One Spring Premier on Saturday. They have added some fantastic items and the amenity we got for attending was awesome.

After the premier, I did a little shopping at Turkey Creek and then headed home because it was so rainy and dreary. I fixed me some Oreo's and milk and read my book for awhile.

Then I finished up some lingering craft projects. I completed these tote bags and fell in love with them. I may have to make some for my own. The stocking was one of my favorites.

The candy cane was really easy.

I love the sparkle on this tree.

This ornament turned out pretty cute.

This blue material was one of my favorites.

But I think the JOY was my absolute favorite.

Then I made this stocking on an 11 x 17 canvas for a birthday present for one of my friends.

She is also a teacher in the Pre-K Sunday School class with me. The class had us a birthday party yesterday since we are both December birthdays. I got this beautiful picture. It has a button you push that lights it up. I am in love with it. Hubby hung it for me when he got home.

We had our children's Christmas program at church. They did an awesome job. They all worked very hard and did a great job. We were very proud of them. The little angel in the middle with her head tilted is my granddaughter Shelby.

Then Sunday night, we had a 2 hour play/music practice for our Christmas drama. It is going to be a really good program.

All in all, I have had an awesome but tiring weekend.

What went through her mind.....

You do have to wonder what went through Mary's mind all those centuries ago.

Where is Mamaw?

I've looked high and low and can't seem to find Mamaw. Her desk chair is empty.

Her keyboard is left open.

Her purse is in the living room like she is going somewhere.

I found these items in her purse.

OH! Now I know where she is. She's getting ready to go.....

To the premier of the Spring Catalog for her Thirty-One business.
