Lovely, just lovely.

I am usually very predictable. I love floral patterns and when given a choice, will go with floral on anything. A couple of weeks ago, I had a Thirty-One Open House where I was the hostess. I had a good turn out on orders and earned some lovely free products. I was wanting a new bag and accessories to use on trips. Everyone I know expected me to go with one of the new floral patterns, but I surprised everyone, even myself by going with a different pattern.

One of the new patterns this spring is called Navy Wave and I wondered if I would really like it or not. Since, you know, it's not floral. But I took a chance and ordered my freebies in this new pattern. Well, it arrived yesterday and let me just say.... My Oh My! I ordered the new bag with my initial on it because I love to have my signature B on everything. I wanted hot pink so it would pop. I am thrilled with the result.

I also won a medium thermal zipper pouch to go with it. 

Since I plan to travel with these bags, I thought this would be good to toss some snacks in since it is thermal. I won't have to worry about my Junior Mints melting.

I ordered a Pocket-A-Tote to match. I have never had one of these and wasn't sure how it would work. 

It has this little snapped strapped on the back of it.  

You simply unsnap the snaps.

And feed each strip through the grommets in your bag (it fits all the utility bags in Thirty-One)

Pull the all the way through the grommets and snap the straps back together.

It blends in well with the outside to the bag since it is color coordinating.

Now my bag has a nice neat zipper pocket inside it. 

This is great for all those little items I need that I don't want just piling up lose in the bottom of the bag. 

I already had these items from a previous party. A little mini zipper pouch and a wristlet.

Everything fits very nicely in one bag. I am ready for my trip.

It just takes one little thing...

Somehow I left Wednesday slip right by without a blog post. I started one yesterday morning and ran out of time. I was going to finish it after work, but never got the chance. As you know, we are getting new office at work. Our boss bought furniture back in December and we haven't seen it yet. Until yesterday. The long awaited day arrived and it was delivered. No pics yet because I'm waiting till we move in. But oh my it was lovely. I have a nice new U shaped desk along with a matching credenza.

You will recall the photo of my settee that was in the back of hubby's truck? I am not sure if it will fit in the new office or not now that I've seen the size of my new furniture. So I had hubby bring it in the house temporarily until I figure out what to do.

I was just going to set it in my home office for now. But there is a little alcove area at the door to my office and the angle of it does not allow the settee to go in there. So hubby decided we could put it in the living room for now. Which triggered what do we do with the spare chair. Which triggered moving it to my bedroom. Which triggered moving some furniture around. Which triggered me having to dust. Which I do not like to do. All of this as soon as I got home from work. Needless to say I wasn't a real happy camper, but I am thrilled to have my settee back home with me.

Top 10 Tuesday

My top 10 things for this Tuesday are just random items from the past few days. 

1. I did my nails with my new Avon Brushed Metal nail polish in Dusky Copper. I never get a manicure because I have been doing my nails since I was in 8th grade. 

2. I was at the local Family Dollar and this little purse caught my eye. I have been looking for a small purse for those times when I just don't need a big bag. This was just $5.00.

3. I stopped at a Co-Op store the other day to look at plants. They had their baby chicks on sale for $3.00. They were so cute. Don't let the cuteness fool you. I went to rub his little soft head and he pecked my thumb. 

4.  We had a new baby at church Sunday. Don't you just love that new baby smell. He was so cute and cuddly and of course I held him. 

5. I had a few of the grandkids over Sunday and I fixed breakfast for supper. Which surprised me, because I am not the chef in the family. Hubby was at work and I just decided to cook for them myself. 

6. I saw my first little wildflower in the yard yesterday. I guess that means we are almost done with winter. 

7. I came home from work Monday night and decided I wanted potato salad. I don't know where the energy came from to make it. The time change always makes me tired for the first month and yesterday was National Nap Day so I could have dozed a while. But I decided to cook instead.

8. And what is potato salad without baked beans to go with it. So I had to make those as well. This was the first time I used my Pyrex oval baker. The beans turned out great. 

9. Many years ago, I purchased a bankers lamp. I had used it for a long time at one of my former jobs. I left it there when I quit and had forgotten all about it. But due to a series of events, it has found its way back to me. I appreciate the help of the ladies who made sure I got it back. I loved this lamp. We are going to be moving into a new office in a few weeks and I am taking the lamp to my new office. 

10. I also left a bench at my former job. I didn't have anywhere to use it in my house so I left it with someone else. I have always regretted it because I loved that bench. However, when I got my lamp back I also got the bench back. I am beyond thrilled. This is destined for my new office as well. Sorry about the bad picture, but it was in the back of the truck when I took the picture. 

National Nap Day

In the various random posts that pop up on Facebook, I discovered that today was National Nap Day. I guess today is a good day for napping since it is a Monday and we just lost an hour of sleep this weekend with Daylight Savings Time. In honor of this stupendous day, I would like to offer up some cute pictures of napping.

Completed Pinterest Projects

Sometimes Pinterest projects don't work out like they are supposed to. But sometimes you get lucky and are pleased with the results. In the time I have been on Pinterest, I have completed the following projects from pins I saw.the first one was shelves with blue and pink items. The following photos are all of my projects I completed. Feel free to repin, repost and share if you would like.

One of the items was books with a doily on them. So I tried it with my little shelves.



I am a Thirty-One consultant and saw where someone used a Organizing Utility Tote to carry their files in. I love it. Still using this now.



My niece pinned a pin she had completed where you use plastic eggs to create a pretty Easter arrangement. Here was my results.



My favorite pin ever to make was this cute wreath of Easter eggs. We do these with our kids in Pre-K and they love it.



Repurposing. I have seen a lot of pins using things for reasons other than what they were created. Inspired by many different pins, I looked around the house to see what I could repurpose. This is in my bathroom now. This little tea for one stores my Q-tips and cottonballs.



Someone had just put Easter eggs in a dish and tied a ribbon around the stem. When I found this little candy dish at a yard sale, I knew just what I wanted to do with it.



I hated this old white Rubbermaid chest I use for crafts until I saw where somebody used scrapbook paper to make it prettier. Now I wouldn't get rid of it for anything.



One of my favorites was the no-sew table runner my niece had done. Here was one I did for Halloween. I have them for most holidays now.



This was simple and quick. Just cover a candle with ribbon and a button and you have cute new decor.



Saw the "Oh where is my want" and had to make it. On another board, I saw the pinwheels in a jar. Put it all together with my Dollar Tree which and have about $3 bugs in this entire Halloween display.



Super simple heart wreath for Valentine's day that I made from scrapbook paper card stock.



Cute little idea where I used Wonder Under to iron material onto burlap and complete this Valentine picture.



My obsession with Wonder Under did not end there. I did this little dish cloth for my Valentine kitchen display.



My daughter pinned one similar to this that she had made. A trip to AC Moore got me everything I needed for my neat Christmas decor.



Made these from scrapbook paper. We filled them with popcorn for a party we had the kids in Sunday School class. Simple to make but a huge hit.



When we had Pre-K graduation in Sunday School. I make these little hats from red card stock, Solo bowls, yarn and a button. Super simple.



Saw somebody use old milk crates for storage. Redid my craft closet by using some milk crates and a shoe bag on the door.



My daughter found this idea for me. We printed them and used them for photo shoots at our VBS that had a carnival theme.



Another idea I saw for hanging shoe bags was to store all my clinging supplies on the door in the bathroom closet. I love having everything where I don't have to dig under the sink to find it.



And last, I made green Jello eggs for Dr. Seuss day at Pre-K Sunday School. We had green eggs and ham for snacks.



I hope you enjoyed my pins. I didn't realize how many Pinterest projects I had completed.

Tisket a tasket, I love any basket...

I love baskets of any kind. I was on Craig's List this week and saw an ad for a living estate sale. From the pics of the sale, they should have just said I'm selling my baskets. And most of them looked like Longaberger to me. 

I absolutely fell in love with this basket coffee table. This would make a great toy chest for the grandkids.

I liked these little baskets on the shelf. Especially the tall one in the middle. 

Be still my heart. There are some awesome baskets in here.

This wasn't a basket, but I love this desk. It matches my living room coffee and end tables.

Are you beginning to see why this should be a basket sale not an estate sale?

Will I go to it? Probably not. I couldn't trust myself to stay in budget around all these baskets. But it sure was fun to look at.
