A gift from a friend...

My friend, Georgeanna, is one of the sweetest ladies I know. She loves to craft and crochet and sew. She brings me a little gift bag for every holiday. She called last night and wanted to stop by. She came in carrying this little bag.

She makes these adorable dish towels with potholders. I hang them on my Baker's rack for various holidays. This will be my 4th of July one.

You know I love the crocheted dish cloths. I use them for everything.

I think this has been my favorite one so far that she made. I love it.

And what a cute apron. Now I always say I wish somebody could combine an apron with a towel to wipe your hands on as you cook. Now I have one.

And of course, knowing my love of Junior Mints, she made me a little jar filled with them.

Later, hubby fixed supper on the grill. He made smoked sausage with peppers and onions as well as fried potatoes and corn-on-the-cob. He is loving the new infrared grill.

All I know is that it was delicious.

Back in the saddle....

I am almost feeling back to human again. I have still got that small ache in the low of my back but it is tolerable now. I have slept so much since Monday that I many never want to sleep again.

I did do a little trading in my Pyrex group on Facebook earlier this week. I traded a bowl I didn't really like for this Golden Acorn piece. My first Golden Acorn. I can't wait to get it.

I ordered me a new T-shirt from Thirty-One for National Conference. I can't wait to get it.

I'm still trying to decide what to take as my bag to carry all my necessities into the actual conference. It is a toss up between my Organizing Utility Tote in Navy Wave.....

Or my Cindy tote in black parisian jacquard.

The Cindy Tote zips. But the Organizing Utility Tote (OUT) has an attached zipper pocket-a-tote inside it.

I'm still weighing the pros and cons.

Not up to par.....

I missed posting yesterday so I thought I should give you an update today. I have either a pulled muscle or a pinched nerve in the small of my back. It was a little better yesterday, but this morning I can barely walk.

Going to try some more pain killer and a hot shower and see if I can make it to work today.

Please keep me in your prayers.

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday morning I came into work and had a new t-shirt on my desk. I was so excited because I love anchors.

When I turned it around and saw the big anchor on the back, I was doubly thrilled.

I stopped at a yard sale on my lunch hours. I am obsessed with black and white Pyrex. Even though this was Corelle, I still had to have them because of the black and white pattern.

I also found the perfect soup pan. I've been looking everywhere for one. My daughter informed me she has as well. Needless to say it went to her. Now I guess I have to find me another one.

I found this cute wrought iron rack. I'm going to put it in my closet for our robes to hang on.

Friday night I found out my sister, mom and niece were having a yard sale....350 miles away.  So I of course had her send me pics of all the tables and I "shopped" via cell phone. She is coming down here soon and will bring my finds to me, but for now here is what I got. I got this cute crow pillow since my bedroom is sort of country decor.

And I had to have this picture for my bathroom since it is decorated in beach theme with these colors.

I am not sure what I am going to do with this but I really liked it. These colors go well in my home office.

I needed this for my yarn for my current craft projects. I've been looking for one.

Beach picture for the kids room. I may paint the frame a lighter color.

That was all I got at the cell phone yard sale. My sister sent me this picture of a cute decoration she made for her porch. Isn't it adorable?

I pick up some new yarn to make some coasters with. I love the Vanna yarn.

Sunday, hubby and I wanted to go to an antique store in a neighboring city. Hubby found a juice bottle for his bottle collection.

And I found my Glasbake tulip cup I've been looking for.

That pretty much wraps it up for the weekend. After we got home, we ordered pizza and wings for supper and just vegged out the rest of the night.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful Daddy. He has been gone 15 years now and I still miss him as much today as I did then. This is one of my favorite pictures of me and Daddy.

Me and my sister with Daddy.

He was always smiling. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family.

He love Christmas and was like a kid at Christmas time. For many years, he would take us through the woods to pick out the perfect Christmas tree.

We were the traditional family. Daddy who worked, mommy who stayed home and cooked, cleaned and took care of the four kids. There was so much love in our house that it is no wonder we all grew up to live very happy lives.

He loved his grandchildren. Him and my twins were really close.

Daddy in his favorite chair. The chairs may have changed over the years but the place his chair sat in the living room never moved away from that one spot where he could see out the door.

Heart problems took a toll on him and we lost him in 1999. I still grieve for him and wish that I could have him back just for one more day. Just one more time to hear him laugh. To hear his say Goodnight, I love you (which he did every night of our lives). To hear him just one more time sitting and talking to me.

Daddy loved his children and his grandchildren. My biggest regret is that he was not around to enjoy all his great grandchildren. He would have adored them.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy.

If only....

If only...I had the day off to go to estate sales. If only...I had room in my house to put more "stuff"....

I adore this phone table. I have always wanted one of these, but not sure why because I am a pacer. I have to be up walking while I am on the phone. I rarely sit still while I talk on the phone. But I still like this.

My daughter is looking for a pie safe. She would love this.

What a gorgeous chest.

Wouldn't this be pretty painted in a pretty color?

I always love these old cabinets. Grandma Garretson had a white one.

This would be awesome for my craft room. Especially to keep my scrapbook and plastic canvas supplies in.

This would be cute for the kids room. I could redo it in a blue to go with their ocean theme.

I just love this napkin holder idea.

Wouldn't you love to have a place for this old trunk. Once it was cleaned up I bet it would be awesome.

Oh my gosh, love the Mickey & Minnie dish set.

I like the little table on the left with the drawer. That would go nice beside Hubby's recliner.

I love this clock.

Aaahh, if only...

Happy Anniversary Diana and Michael

Happy anniversary to my daughter, Diana and her husband Michael.

They have blessed us with two beautiful grandchildren. Hope you have a very happy anniversary and many blessed years together.

We love you both.
