Some cute party decor

A friend of mine spent the 4th in Michigan and celebrated the 4th and then her parents 50th anniversary. Here were some cute decorations they had for the two parties.

They made these little pinwheels. They are adorable. She is going to teach me how.

I absolutely loved her Mason jars with burlap and ribbon. These flowers looked beautiful in them.

But one of my favorites was how she lined a planter with burlap and filled it with peanuts. I am sure they had a blast eating this. I just thought this was a great idea.

4th of July at my sisters.

My sister had a 4th of July party at her camper on the river. I live too far away to attend, but she was kind enough to share some photos with me.

She loves to decorate for gatherings and occasions and she did a great job.

I love the little Uncle Sam.

It looks like a peaceful place to celebrate.

My mom looks good and healthy. I love this picture of her.

I love this picture of little Miss M. She is a doll baby.

My nephew Robby and his catch of the day.

I love Rachel's little birdhouse camper. Check out the little bird in it.

At first I thought it was fake but it looks like it's head is turned in the second pic so I guess it was real.

It looks like everybody had a great time. Maybe next year I can make it in.

Better late than never....

I must admit this is a little late for me to be posting. I usually post by 6 or 6:30 a.m. It is now 7:50 p.m. It has just been a busy hectic day.

I just can't seem to get it together. I am attending a gathering for some of my Thirty-One sisters tomorrow night and I need to take a dish or dessert. It is 7:52 at night now and I still do not have a clue what I will take. I was thinking of the Bundt cake brownie, but my Bundt pan is so old and scratched up it usually sticks so I didn't want to risk it.

I thought about regular cake with chocolate icing, but I have so much I had to do this evening that I can't even begin to find the time to do that.

So I thought about putting something in the crock pot tomorrow, but couldn't think of anything. I may pick up some ham and cheese on my way home tomorrow and make a ham and cheese braid. It is just hard to tell what I might end up doing.

All I know is that I am too braindead and too tired to even think about it tonight.

Birthday Party Time

I am going to a Frozen birthday party today for a very special little girl. She is one of my granddaughter's best friends as well as the daughter and granddaughter of two of my friends. Plus she is one of the little girls I have had in Sunday School craft class for about 4 years now. Miss Lilly turns 6 this week. This is one of my favorite pics of her.

She is very well known for her beautiful long hair and her bows. I am forever playing with her long hair when she sits beside me. But Miss Lilly is growing up. She decided that for her birthday, she wanted a big girl hair cut. She wanted it short like her Mommy's. I will miss her long locks but I do admit she looks absolutely adorable with her new hairdo. And she got her wish....she does look like her Mommy.

Happy birthday, Lilly Bug. I can't wait to see you at your party!

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July! I hope you have great plans for your day.

I am blessed to have a three day weekend. I am taking advantage of the day off today to do some shopping with my friend, Sherrie. We plan to make several stops. I need to got to AC Moore for some yarn. I have several colors I need, but this is the main one. I am armed with my 40% off coupon!

I also need to stop in at Joann's Fabric. I need to get some soft fabric to make a pillow case for my travel pillow. I kind of like this. I am really in to medallion patterns right now. Plus these colors go with my blankie that I take on trips.

Keepsake Calico Fabric Forest Owls Floral Texture, , hi-res

I need to stop at the Dollar Tree. I need to see if they have any Sun Readers in my lens size. I craft and reader better with readers than I do with my tri-focals. My eye doctor told me what size to get. Last year toward the end of summer, I saw that Dollar Tree carries readers in sunglasses now, but they didn't have my prescription I need. I'm going to check today. I really, really want a pair. I actually love the third pair down.

After all that, we are going to stop at Texas Roadhouse for lunch. I don't know what I will order, but I definitely know I will eat too much rolls. I always do, but oh how I love their rolls.

We will finish off the day at our favorite place. McKay's Book Store. We always do good with our swaps. I have about 40 books to take and trade in today.

Once we are back home, I plan on relaxing and having hot dogs for supper. We even have a few sparklers to do after dark. It's going to be an awesome day.

Yesterday was awesome....

I had a great day yesterday. Before I went to work, I got all the bag I want to take to conference in a few weeks and started gathering some of the stuff I am going to need. I love this pattern, Navy Wave. I have several things in it because I love anything that has the navy or nautical theme.

My daughter-in-law had the great idea that I needed to have our friend Stevie Marie make me a pocket shirt with her new anchor pattern for the Thirty-One conference. I loved the idea since I am carrying the Navy Wave bag. They put their heads together and picked out the fabric (which is old Thirty-One swatches), the shirt and the thread. I am absolutely in love with the final product. I can't wait to wear it while carrying my bag.

And to make the day even better, I got a new bowl!! My friend Jess at Plain Folk Treasures got in her first Pyrex bowl and I snatched it up about 2 minutes after she posted it. I am in love. I have been looking for this 402 in this pattern since last fall. I am thrilled to finally have it. She is getting more Pyrex in this weekend and I am hoping she might get more of this or some other patterns I am wanting.

These two friends own a couple of neat businesses. You need to check out Stevie's Facebook page, Stevie Marie's, especially her back to school back packs that meet the mesh requirement of most schools and can still be customized to your child's favorite character.

And while you are on Facebook, be sure to visit Jess's online store Plain Folk Treasures. She has some beautiful vintage glassware for sale in several different colors.

I can't wait to see what she adds to her site next. The other day she got this old vanity someone was going to throw away.

She fixed it up, strengthened the wood and painted it. What a difference.

She even stenciled the drawers and lined them with vintage scrapbook paper.

She took this old chair...

....and gave it a fresh coat of paint and fixed it up for a sewing room. I guess we will all agree she is very talented.
