Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

Yesterday....

I picked up Alexis to take her out to eat and to go shopping for her birthday time with me. Her birthday is Sunday and I always take each grandchild out for some special Mamaw time before their birthday. We went to our favorite place, Applebee's. She had cheesy chicken and garlic mashed potatoes. I had the potato skins and she had me try her chicken. It was really good.

Photo: Alexis at her birthday date with her Mamaw.

Of course we had to have, as Alexis calls it, The Big Brownie Dessert. We shared it and found it was a lot easier to move to the same side of the table to eat it. They wait staff sang happy birthday to her when they delivered it. The waitress asked if we wanted our picture taken and of course we said yes.

After dining and shopping for her gift, she asked me if we could go get Shelby, my other granddaughter, so they could stay all night together. They had a snack around 9:30 then left their trays up to play Glam and Go Bling, which they combined the cards to make up their own game. They finally crashed around 11:30 last night.

Photo: 11:17 and these two are going strong. Really don't want to be the one to bring the bad news that they need to start winding down. I have a feeling if I don't say "bedtime" we could be up for quite a while.

Today....

We are going to have some girl time and go shopping, just the three of us. We are going to stop at the Tudor House antique store. That's my favorite one to go to.

The Tudor House Antiques & Collectibles LLC in Sevierville TN (865) 428-4400 On The Great Smoky Mountains Parkway GSMP 5.74 Miles

I am going to look for the Pyrex snowflake divided dish. I hope I can find one. We have several antique stores I can try.

I am going to the Tudor House first because she told me she would happily give me store credit for any Pyrex I had to trade. Last time she did that, I took in a set of 12 Swanky Swigs and 2 or 3 pieces of Pyrex and she gave me $95 store credit. This is what I'm taking to show her today. One piece I am going to trade for a friend, the other pieces are either duplicates or patterns I don't collect. I would be happy to get $60 bucks out of all these since I know she will need to mark them up for resale.

After our shopping trip, the girls will be going back home. Alexis is cheering at a ball game tonight and Shelby may be going to the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge. I will be going back home and plan on giving myself a manicure with my new Sally Hansen orange nail polish I bought last night.

My new favorite manicure is to do my nails in one shade and then do my ring finger in this glittery silver. So that is what I'm doing tonight.

Tomorrow....

After church, I need to go home and get ready for Alexis's birthday party. She is having it at this awesome pavilion on the river. It's at the same place she had it last year. We had a blast. It is supposed to be a beautiful day so I am sure I'll do some river wading while the kids splash around in it. There are several places where it isn't very deep.

I hope to get some pictures this year. The girls are always ready to pose for me; the boys - not so much. I don't know how many times I tried to get these two grandsons and my son-in-law. They are very evasive.

Well, that's my weekend plans so far. Hope you are having as much fun as I am.

My Wandering Mind....

Sometimes I just have to take some time and relax in front of the computer to see what interesting things I can find. This little picture is so true. Some of my favorite things to do include browsing through book stores. I get lost and forget all about time.

In my recent foray onto Pinterest, I found this cute manicure. One of these days I am going to bite the bullet and get a beautiful manicure.

adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what it is about the color gray, but I really like it in a decorating theme any more. I love this gray and white. The wicker/rattan sets it off but I would add a pop of some bright color to it.

Browns, grey, white, & black.

I am addicted to doing just one nail in glittery silver. I did it for National Conference and I did it a couple of times since then. I love this smokey gray.

Bio Seaweed Gel: Unity All-in-One Colour Soak-off Gel Manicure in #180 "Great Catch" and #01 "White Gel" with #06 "Crystal Ball"... loving this sophisticated combination.

I love this deep orange. I am going to look for some this weekend and do it with the one finger of silver glittery.

Inspired by an orange peel -- Chanel. I'm wearing the same shade by OPI called Hot and Spicy -- shellac manicure.

I have still not been able to find a complete set of vintage Melmac dishes. I would love to find something like this.

Vintage 25 piece set of Meldale genuine Melamine/Melmac Dinnerware Pink and Gray

I'm going to the beach pretty soon and I want some pretty foot jewelry to wear when we take our evening walk on the beach. For the life of me, I can't remember what these are called so I can't google it to order them. Anybody know what they are called?

I love going to the beach this time of year because it is a good way to relax before the crazy fall/winter season sets in.
Speaking of winter, we were at Old Time Pottery the other day and I am in love with some of their new Christmas items. Check out this tan and red burlap Christmas chain. Isn't this neat?

And I just adore these little "books". They are gift card holders. These would be cute to put a book store gift card in.

These tin Christmas ornaments also open up to hold gift cards.

As do these little boxes.

There is one aisle that I'm going to have to go visit on a regular bases. I love Christmas tins and Christmas boxes. They have a huge selection.

And it is both sides of the aisle.

As you can see my mind was all over the place this morning. But at least I took you on the journey with me. Have a happy over the hump day.

Just wanted to share....

I have a few things to show you that I picked up at recent yard sales. Like this Hobnail milk glass lamp. It needs a shade and a new cord, but for $1.50 I wasn't going to pass it up.

I love these type of hot plates. I pick one up whenever I find it. This was just .25 cents.

These Santa spreaders were so cute. I just had to have them. I don't remember what they cost but it was like .50 or .75 cents.

I have a weakness for unique plates so I snagged this for just a quarter.

A woman can never have enough baskets. Especially cute ones like this that are just .25 cents.

Fell in love with this picture frame. Need to try to get a good pic of all 5 grandkids at Alexis's upcoming birthday party.

I had never read any Fern Michaels books until recently. It was good so I thought I would give this one a try. The price said $2.00 but the lady sold it to me for $1.00.

This past Saturday I went to Old Time Pottery in Pigeon Forge. It's that time of year when they get their holiday decorations in. They have a whole aisle dedicated to Christmas tins which is one thing I love. I picked up two new ones for my collection.

They had these pumpkins on sale and I have always wanted one so I snagged it.

And I could not resist this little Halloween owl.

And I picked up a new ornament for the Keefer tree this year.

That's all I have to share today. Have a great Tuesday.

It's Monday....again

Today is the day I start to get organized. I leave later this month for vacation in Panama City Beach, FL. We don't make an agenda for our trips, we just kind of plan things we want to do while we are there and then wing it as to when we do them. One of the things we always do is take the Captain Anderson cruise to Shell Island and dolphin watching.

I wanted a bag to take with me for that trip that would be hand free but could carry everything I need. We actually spend about an hour on Shell Island so I want to take a beach towel, my camera, something to collect my shells in, etc. I order the Cinch Sac and had it personalized with Making Memories. I am not happy with the lemon yellow color of the thread but at least I have the bag.

I cleaned out some of my Pyrex this weekend and this is what I put in the trade group. I am trying to round up a 402 Town & County bowl and anything in the snowflake or snowflake garland pattern. I did trade the Black Gooseberry for a yellow baking dish I have been looking for and I traded the Friendship bowl for the Snowflake oval casserole which was at the top of my trade list. I hope to tray the rest throughout the week.

We are getting busy at work. I am getting busy in my Thirty-One business. I am trying to keep up my blog, start packing for the beach and still squish in everything else I do. I need some type of planning or tracking program to keep me organized. I haven't made a major list for anything in a long time....which is not like me at all. I am looking at online printable planners. I like this one but not sure if it is exactly what I am looking for.

I did find this printable template this morning. I do like it as a master to do sheet. It seems to cover everything. I may print a few off and see how it works out for me.

If you know me at all, you know I love my Facebook but I just can't get into Twitter. I have tried several times and I just don't get it. Too much work involved to stay on top of it. I much prefer Facebook. When I saw this on Facebook yesterday, I knew I had to share it this morning since it is SO me.

Hope you have a happy Monday and make this week the best it can be.

Sunday Songs

I've shared this one several times in the past, but it never gets old.
