It's hot chocolate time...

These cool early mornings are making me crave hot chocolate. I need to find me the perfect hot chocolate cup. I really want something vintage. Here are some I love. I love Snoopy. I always have, especially in his Red Baron mode. This cup recently sold for $495.00 on Ebay so I am pretty sure I will never be able to find me one, but I do love it.

Dad had one of these when we were little.

I saw this online, but if I had it I would never be able to bring myself to drink from it for fear of breaking it.

These are some Hazel Atlas vintage cups I would like to find.

I actually own some like the two on the left, but I would like to find one like the one on the right.

These are some I would love to find.

I love the colors in this one.

I actually found one of these this past summer so I can mark it off my list.

Since I am a Dunkin Donut fan it makes sense that I would like to have one of these.

This is a cute one for Christmas time.

I have seen these on the internet but never in person. I don't know if they are vintage or something someone has copied and made.

I wouldn't normally drink hot chocolate from a tea cup, but this is just awesome.

Royal Albert Yellow Roses

These sets caught my eye on Pinterest. They are cute.

I also saw a recipe on Pinterest for Hot chocolate floats.

Hot Chocolate Floats. Whoever posted this recipe is now officially my hero. Hot. Chocolate. Floats. There are no words...

And another one for salted caramel hot chocolate.

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Recipe ~ Make your own salted caramel hot chocolate at home! Salted caramel is the base for this thick homemade hot chocolate. It’s incredibly rich and indulgent!

This is my favorite hot chocolate that I make and my favorite cup that I drink it in. It is hot chocolate stirred with a candy cane for peppermint flavoring. Topped with mini marshmallows and grated candy cane.

Just checking out some fall clothes...

A couple of weeks ago, my granddaughters were shopping with me and we stopped at Vanity Fair Outlet in Sevierville. I saw some awesome items I fell in love with for fall.

I want some nice sweaters to wear this year with some type of top underneath.

This is a cute pattern. I love wild patterns on sweaters.

This was beautiful

They had some beautiful jewelry.

You know how I am about flip flops in summer? I am the same way about crazy socks for winter.

They had some beautiful scarves as well.

This is a simple but pretty sweater. It was super soft.

I had a gorgeous model for the scarves.

And I love plain cream sweaters.

But my favorite thing was the two cutie pies who decided to become professional mannequins.

An exciting day....

I was very excited yesterday. I recently signed up my first recruit for Thirty-One. She earned Level 1 in the Start Swell program for the company. By reaching that level, she earned some awesome new products and because she did so good in her first 30 days, I also received a bonus. I love the new boxes they use when shipping you something you earned.

Inside was this neat card congratulating me for helping my new recruit.

So what did I earn? The Medium Utility Tote. I am loving it.

Then when I checked the mail. I had a congratulations card on signing up my new recruit.

I just love working for a company that stands behind you and offers so much support. And the free products are awesome!

Weekend Wrap Up

Our family has a new arrival this weekend. My niece gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She weighed 8 pounds and 14 ounces. This is the first baby in our family since they started ultra sounds that we didn't know what it would be. The mommy didn't want to know so we all were surprised. Which was awesome considering she has two boys and getting surprised with a little girl was awesome.

I didn't do a whole lot this weekend, but I did decide on one new pair of flip flops from Kohls. Our local store had the pair I was looking for. They are super comfortable.

I found some orange nail polish and did my nails with the new theme of one finger sparkly and the rest the base color of orange. It's not perfect, but it is fall looking.

We had homecoming at church Sunday. Tons of good food. The fried chicken was out of this world. Ms. Bonnie K. at church makes the best chocolate cake. The fudge style  chocolate icing has peanut butter in it. She makes the whole thing from scratch. It is super moist. I kept debating all week whether it would be wrong of me to call and ask her to bring that cake for the homecoming. I chickened out and never called. When I went in the dessert room, there sat the cake! I was thrilled. When everyone was getting done eating Ms. Bonnie came up to ask me if I had gotten any cake. She said "I made it especially for you. Get you a to go box and take the rest of it home with you." There were about 6 pieces and I brought them to work to share today. I may have to have a piece for breakfast in a few minutes. It is delicious.

It was a very relaxing weekend.

Celebrating 131 Years

Today is our church homecoming. We are 131 years old. Isn't it awesome that no matter what changes, God's word is still God's word and that it stands now as it stood those many, many years ago. This is an artist rendition of our first church.

This was the second church building we had on the property.

And this is our church today.

Though we have grown in size over the years, it is still just a good country church that believes in God, family and country. We are going to have some good preaching, good singing and of course some delicious food today. I am very excited to see who will be visiting us today.

Good morning!

I love the weekend. I get to relax in the morning and spend some time checking out ideas on the internet. I found this cute pumpkin idea. I have some of these doilies. I just need to pick up some pumpkins.

How cute is this? I have been working on some of the crafts ideas I've been sharing with you. Soon I will be ready to start showing you what I've made. But I need to add this to the list. I just love it. Now to just remember how to make pom poms. I am sure there is a You Tube video if I don't remember.

I am not sure if I shared this with you or not. Sorry if it is a repeat. It's just that I love the simplicity of it.

I am going to be making some card cases for playing cards and I was looking for new patterns and designs. I have some multi colored yarn in similar shades. I may try to resize this pattern to make it work for my card cases.

This randomly popped up when I went to Etsy. Isn't it a cute cup. I love cups for my hot chocolate. This would be a cute one to have for winter. It is handmade.

I am still in search of the illusive 402 Town & Country mixing bowl. If you know of anyone who has one for sell, please let me know. This is the last one I need to complete my set.

 Pyrex Town & Country Mixing Bowl - 1 1/2 qt. #402

And I officially started Christmas shopping this morning...maybe. I say maybe because I have a question on the item and until I see the answer, I am not sure if I am going to order it. I am always leery of ordering offline sight unseen. But there is an item on there that I want to get for someone. Can't post it on here in case they see my blog or someone who sees my blog tells them. Just suffice it to say I hope I get the answer I want because this is a perfect gift.

Well, time to head out for a little last of the summer shopping. Have a great day!

A surprise yard sale yesterday...

I haven't been checking for yard sales lately. So I was surprised when a friend told me about one in her neighborhood. I had been to one at that house before and always found something I liked. I told another friend about it so we ran over to it to see what we could find. With the holidays coming up, I am looking for new cookie and candy ideas. I found this book for just .75 cents. I am a sucker for dessert recipe books so I couldn't resist.

I collect milk glass so for just .10 cents I wasn't going to leave this there....even though I don't where I am going to use it.

But my favorite find of the day was something I have been looking for. I wanted an old fashioned powder dish for my bathroom. I have scoured antique stores and couldn't find one. The yard sale had one for $2.00. It was Avon so I figured it wasn't really old. Turns out it was 1970's Avon so that makes it 44 years old which in my collectible world I consider that vintage. However, when I realize I was in high school in the '70's it doesn't make me very happy to consider that vintage. But I am very, very happy with my powder dish.
