Weekend wrap up....

I had a very uneventful, restful weekend. We had our VBS family night on Friday, which lasted about an hour so I hurried home so I could have an early night and some much needed rest.

Saturday, I just went to Walmart and to Kroger. I picked up some white Art Deco nail paint for a dollar. I decided I wanted to try to do my nails with one of them on each hand polka dotted. It was easy to do even though next time I will make the dots smaller. But not bad for my first try. The rest of the night, I just vegged out on the couch and watched TV, which is very rare for me. I usually am reading or crafting or something.

Sunday I went to Sunday School and church. Then came home and did a couple of hours of work and then took about an hour and a half nap. Then made hamburgers and onion rings for supper. After that, I spent a little while catching up on Facebook. I loved this post of the Ritter Park Rose Garden in Huntington, WV. I have so many fond memories of having family and church picnics in the park. We loved walking through the park and going to the Rose Garden. It was always beautiful.

After that, I just headed to the couch and relaxed until bedtime. Time for another week. Hope it is not as crazy as the last one

Nail polish....on E-Bay?

The Sally Hansen Color Foil nail polish was some of the best nail polish I ever used. I would love to find it again. Especially in Titanium Pink (far left). I had that one before and it was my favorite.

I also loved the Platinum. It was shiny like chrome.

But I can't find it anywhere. Their site shows all the places it is available and I haven't checked them all yet, but most of the one I have checked don't have it. But guess what. It is available on E-Bay. Seriously???? It is like $5.95 a bottle, free shipping and says it is brand new.

But no matter that they say it is brand new, I just cannot force myself to buy it from E-by nor to pay that much per bottle....no matter how much I want it.

Friday Finds

With my crazy week, I decided last night that I needed some Google time looking for some vintage pretties to share. So I went on a search and these are some of the fun things I found. I thought these glasses were so pretty and summery looking. Imagine them filled with ice cold lemonade.

These caught my eye just because they are so whimsical. I have always loved carousel animals. I think the zebra is my favorite.

I love this setting. I wonder where they found the cute milk glass owl planter.

I love milk glass but didn't realize it came in pinks and mint/turquoise.

This is a phone cover that will fit my phone. I really would like something other than plain, but not sure if this is what I want.

When we go to the beach, we go to a set of shops that has a little pond in the middle of the complex and their are always swans in the pond. We have lots of fond memories of going there so I would love to find this swan soap dish for my beach bathroom.

I love salt dips. They just fascinate me. I think it is because they are so small and so colorful. This is a cool assortment.

I see the old Singer sewing machines a lot but the machine

Some things I like...

I am going to be taking a day soon to hit the antique shops and thrift stores. I haven't been in forever so I am planning a day to go see what I can find. I have some things on my wish list that I have wanted for a long time. One is a Carnival glass candy dish in those beautiful blues and greens.

I have had Pyrex Homestead pattern on my list for a long time. I would like to have any of the mixing bowls. Well, it turns out I have something a lady wants and she is wanting to trade me her entire Homestead set of bowls to get it. I am thrilled. We will be making the exchange next week. And she even has the largest 404 size. Anybody that collects Pyrex understand how elusive a 404 to complete a set can be.

I am so in love with these nails. If I ever get a wild urge to splurge, I may have this done to my nails.

My daughter has this app on her phone called Polyvore where she is forever building and finding complete outfit ensembles. She thought this would be a good one for me. Turns out I have an anchor necklace, pink top, white capris, pink flip flops and the Thirty-One turquoise wave purse. Now all I need is a pink beaded bracelet.

I went to Etsy to see what they had there. This was cute but wasn't really sure if I liked it or not.

But I fell in love with this one. I may have to order it. It is just $5.00 and $2.00 for shipping. So that isn't bad. I doubt I could find one I like this much at any local places.

I am starting to look for dresses for my Thirty-One conference for the big event night. I would love something in this style only in black Swiss dot.

Well, I have been off work for three days guess I have to head out this morning to get back in the groove. But only a two day week before I am off again. Have a great Thursday.

Hubby came home...

It was good to get Hubby home today. I am not a fan of sitting still in the first place. So sitting in a hospital and just waiting on what they are going to do/say drives me nuts. But I am happy to say that the problem is treatable with a better diet with lots of veggies and him watching what he eats and no meds prescribed!

Thank you Lord for all you do.

A message from God

My husband was admitted yesterday to the hospital with some health issues. As I was heading home, I saw a sign of encouragement. It wasn't just a one, but two rainbows and it wasn't just a glimpse. It was in front of me in the sky for the entire 20 - 25 minute drive home. It was there the whole time. I had to pull of at an exit so I could get a picture. It was really bright but the picture doesn't do it justice.

After shooting the picture, I glanced to my right and coming out of the one darker cloud was the other side of the rainbow. It is faint, but you can see it best as it gets closer to the tree tops.

It had been a rough day and then when I was ready to leave to come home, I got turned around and could not find which parking garage I had parked in. I had only been to this hospital a couple of times and someone else was driving each time. Every hospital staff I asked for help sent me in the wrong direction and I would have to find someone else. After 40 minutes of wondering aimlessly outside and talking to four different people, I was finally able to locate the correct parking garage. I got caught in a downpour which just lasted about 10 minutes. Then I had to find my way back to the interstate which proved harder than getting over there. By the time I made it to the interstate, the stress of the day had taken hold and I was about to have a good cry....until I pulled on the entrance ramp to I 40 and saw the rainbows. God still talks to us and calms us. He still reminds us of His promise. Please keep my husband in your prayers.
