Weekend wrap up...

Not a whole lot to wrapping up a weekend when you work on Saturday. Friday night, I went from work directly to a pool party. The kids from church have been practicing a summer play to do before they go back to school. So they had a big pool party. I was supposed to help decorate, but ending up working too late to help. But I did get to visit with friends, enjoy pizza and have fun at the pool party. 

Saturday, I didn't go in until 11:00 so I made a quick stop by the Corelle Outlet just to check out the patterns they carry since I'm trying collect assorted patterns. I found this salad plate for $1.88. 

And this dinner plate for $2.50. 

I thought they would look good together so I bought them. It turned out they were on a discount as well as clearance so I got them both for just a little over $3.00 ... and that included the tax. 

Saturday night I came home and crashed. I made my cinnamon roll french toast Sunday morning to take to our Sunday School class. It was all eaten except for one small piece which one of my friends took home with her. The kids did their program. They did a fabulous job.

After church, I ran to Walmart and while I was out I stopped by Joann's. I got some fabric to make me some runners for fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving. This will be perfect for my kitchen window table because my curtains have sunflowers.

This one was kind of vintage looking so I couldn't pass it up. 

I really like the Thanksgiving one because it looks like chalboard.

Sunday night, I heard a car in my driveway around 11:00 at night. I thought it was my neighbor but when I looked out, there was a package on my porch and the people down the street were backing out. When I moved, I did a change of address but the mail lady we have insists on continuing to put my mail in the wrong box. So thankful for honest people in the neighborhood because they make sure I get my mail. And I am glad because I got this sweet gift from Ms. Terri at Your Friend from Florida. Thank you Ms. Terri for thinking of me. I love it.

And I found the right place for it.

Sunday's Song

Vintage heaven...

Last Monday, I visited four antique stores in one day. It was exhausting but extremely fun. That was the day I found some Corelle plates. One store had some Pyrex that I'm think I might go back and get next week if it is still there. I did take some pics of some of my favorite things I saw. To all my vintage collector followers, feel free to drool. Going back again my next day off.

If you like prowling through vintage linens and old kitchen utensils, this booth at Tudor House is a place you need to visit. 

One place we went is antiques and crafters mall. So there are booths that are antiques, new stuff, Americana, homemade, etc. One lady had all the new Pyrex Charm line. But she had it at the same price as the Corelle store and it wasn't in a box and didn't come with lids. I will just go to Corelle when I decide to get some.

This is some new Corelle/Pyrex as well. Aren't the colors beautiful.

I had one of these carts and sold it when I moved because I didn't have anywhere to put it. Then last week, I realized there is a spot I need one and it would fit. So now I need to go back and price this one.

Check out some of the Hazel Atlas in this one. Especially the striped glass. Why oh why did I not buy that.

I took a picture of this little table because I have one similar and it is just a dark walnut. I want to spruce it up. Don't know if I'll do blue or what, but I am going to do something to it.

My heart about stopped in this booth, until I looked at her prices. The small Pyrex 401 bowls that most places charge $8 - $12 for she had priced at $30 for one bowl!

Kicking myself for not going ahead and getting the snowflake Pyrex pan. It was a good price, but I wasn't in the snowflake mode that day. Now to just remember where I saw it!

Beautiful Cinderella sets with not so beautiful prices. Some were pushing close to $150 for the set. That averages about $37.50 per bowl. Hmmmm.....NO!

All in all, most of the antiques I saw were reasonable and I can't wait to go back again. 

A day in the life...

I love my job. I get to see this beautiful view every morning as I drive down the parkway. This isn't one of the best pics ever, but it changes every day. It's easy to see why they call it the Great Smokies. The closer I get to work, the larger the mountains loom.

I love that I have a job where I get to use my Thirty-One totes and pouches everyday. This is what I've been sporting this last week. Earned all of these for free over the past six months and never even realized how much they complimented each other till last week.

And if I work a little later, I get to see this beautiful sun setting in the west on my drive home.

But one of the happiest moments of my day is when I go in a little early and drive a few blocks up the Parkway to find the HOT donut sign on.  You just gotta love Kristy Kreme.

Yo Yo's

I went through a yo yo spell a couple of years ago and I did several small projects. Then life got in the way and I got sidetracked on something else. I want to get back to making yo yo's. I love t his pillow idea only instead of the fabric flower, I would use some fabric yo yo's in beach style material and put this on my bed.

And for anybody who has little girls that love Minnie Mouse, this would be so cute for a hair bow or on a shirt.

This key chain is a cute idea and would make an adorable "thinking of you" gift. But first I have to make myself one since I love cutesy bee things. 

This is a cute idea. And you could buy a pillow or blanket it and trim it out or embellish it with yo yo's.

Too cute. 

Oh my I love the cat. 

I bet the trees would be easy and simple to make.

But I think I like this one better.

Oh my gosh these are just the most adorable owls ever.

This would be a cute idea to put on as a bow on a Christmas gift.

So many dreams and plans to craft. So many wonderful ideas. So little time.

Corelle crazy...

I love keeping little packs of cookie mix that makes just 12 cookies. I woke up Sunday craving cookies so I made chocolate chip and peanut butter ones. I love my Corelle platter. This was in a set Mom has had her whole life and she gave it to me the platter a few years ago.

I love Corelle patterns...old patterns and new patterns. When I moved I got rid of a lot of dishes and my goal is collect assorted dinner plates, salad plates and dessert plates until I have a set of 12 on each one. There is an antique store that has a booth that is nothing but Corelle and they have tons of it. The most expensive pieces are just $2.50 which is cheaper than Walmart. I went antiquing Monday and bought these two salad plates to add to my stock. 

And these two dinner plates. (FYI the one on the right is the Woodland pattern from Pyrex.)

I could pair these two as a coordinating set.

And these two together. I am trying to get mix matches pieces that compliment each other in some way so when the whole family comes over, I can set the table.

Of course the blue plate also goes good with this red dinner plate I already had.

And the little blue flowered one is a good compliment to the blue and yellow one I just got.

I normally like the blue one with this black plate I got my last trip to that antique store.

I can't wait to go back again this week and pick up a couple more. If you are ever in Kodak/Sevierville, you need to visit the upstairs section at Heartland Antiques. That is my go to place for my Corelle.
