Homecoming Sunday

First off, Happy 7th blogaversary to me. Can't believe I have had some to say almost every day for 7 years. Those who know me, know I love to talk so I guess I should be surprised. I looked to see what keywords brought in the most readers. They were: 1. Different, 2. Heaven, 3. Prayer. I have had visitors from 10 different countries which I find very interesting.

On another note, today is homecoming at our church. It is a celebration of a church that is 133 years old. We've had 3 or 4 different church buildings over the years as we have grown. But we have always been on the same property except maybe the first church. Can't wait for service today and that wonderful assortment of awesome food you can always find at a Baptist church gathering.

Here's one of my favorite songs to kick off Sunday. Have a blessed day!

How well do you know me....

My grandson posted this on Facebook the other day and I thought it would make a great blog post.

Contemplate your answers for a few minutes then scroll down to see how you did. Leave a comment and let me know how many you got right.

Now let's see how you did?

Cat or Dog? I love them both. But if I have to make a choice, it will be a cat. I had a gray and white tabby for 17 years that I loved dearly. If I was going to get another pet, I would get one that looks like this.

Tea or coffee? Neither one. No way, no how. Not in this lifetime. I don't like either one of them. The correct answer would be hot chocolate or Pepsi.

Sports or Music? Well, considering I love singing along with the radio and have been known to just watch You Tube music videos more than I do TV, it's music. I am not into sports although if nothing is on, I have been known to switched channels briefly when the Vols play.

Books or Movies? No brainer. I always have a book lying around that I am reading and can somtimes finish 1 or two a week. I've been known to start a John Grisham at 8:30 a.m. in the morning and veg out all day, completing a 381 page book at 1:30 a.m. the next morning.Yet, I think the last time I went to a movie was over 8 years ago.

Sun or Rain? I do like a good rainy on a Sunday afternoon or late evening, but my main love is the sun (just in case the above pic wasn't a hint). Nothing better than spending time outside in the beautiful sunshine.

So how did you do on our little quiz?

Happy Fall Y'all...

Happy fall y'all!

In the middle of this picture is a fall fabric I picked up to make a runner for my kitchen bakers rack. As the lady was cutting the fabric, she said that earlier that day she had put out some dishtowels in housewares that matched this exactly. So I went over and picked up a couple of the dishtowels....and they did match exactly! I was so excited about that and especially since the fabric and all of it was around $4.00.

My dining room table has blue carpet and has blue in the wallpaper border, which I plan to replace this winter. So in the meantime, I was trying to figure  out my table for fall. I cannot find a tablecloth I like, so I am using blue and orange to tie in the blue in the dining room, but add the orange for fall. These are just the cheapy plastic placemats, but they will serve the purpose till I find what I want.

Then I put my fall flowers in Mamaw Eden's McCoy pitcher and put it on my tray I use for decorating the middle of the table. I added the pumpkin dishtowel Mom or Rachel one made for me. I also found these cute little hours for a dollar each and my new little toothpick holder with blue.

It tied it in okay, but I still think my dining room is bland. I am going to have my daughter and daughter-in-law help me figure out a new theme for it when they come over tomorrow night.

I got my fall stuff on my coffee table with my no sew runner I made a few years ago.

And my little harvest angel is out for the fall months. She will stay out till Christmas.

I still have a few more things to put out, but this is a start. A few weeks ago, I did some shopping on my day off. I can't remember what I posted and what I didn't. Here's an update. I did get this cute tea candle holder for Halloween. I'll be sitting it out in October.

And I picked up some more material to makes some friends the no-sew runners they wanted. I love the little costs.

Have a great Thursday.

Since last Friday....

It's been a busy and somewhat crazy week since last Friday. Three of the grandchildren stayed all night on Friday night. Saturday I had to work and it was a full moon so it was a crazy wild work day.

I was so exhausted mentally and physically that I came home and had ice cream and peanut butter cookies. Don't judge. If you had been through the weird day I went through, you would understand.

Sunday, I went to my granddaughter Alexis's birthday party. Was able to get a few pics. I had to promise no Facebook posts, but blogging isn't that big a deal to them. The one on the right is my grandson Colby and in the middle is my grandson Caleb. The cute little fellow on the left is Kingston. He is Colby's cousin from his mom's side.

Right is my granddaughter, Alexis, the birthday girl. Can't believe she is 12. On her left is my granddaughter Shelby.

This is my first grandchild, my grandson Garret. He is 17 now. He doesn't like his pic taken so I just had to do a walk by photo shoot. Once he looked up, I just snapped.

Monday we had a surprise visit at work from a lady at the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge. She brought us all a goodie bag. It had a Chic-Fil-A chicken sandwich, a package of cookies and a bag of chips. What a very thoughtful thing for them to do.

Yesterday was the Senior Health Fair at work and we had a three show day. According to various pedometers of people I spend the day working with, we put about 5 or 6 miles of walking in when you counted how many trips up, down, in and out of the arena we did all day. Amazing success but we were exhausted.

Getting ready to head out to work to face the day. Who knows what's in store today.

Just peeking in....

Having computer issues yesterday and today and not enough time to figure them out. Having to Blog from my phone which I hate to do because I don't type as well on the phone.

With that thought in mind, just wanted to drop a note to say I should be back tomorrow with my weekend wrap up.

In the meantime, have a great day!

Remember to smile....

The world is a happy place if you just remember to smile. It relaxes you and make you feel better. Not to mention it generally uses about 10 muscles to make you smile. So that is exercise, right? So check these out, smile a lot and have an amazing day.
