Tomorrow should be fun....

I have a big day planned tomorrow. Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree and Walmart. Super excited about it all, but especially Dollar Tree. I am going to the bigger one in a neighboring city instead of local one. I belong to some FB groups for Dollar Tree and see many things people are sharing that I want to check out. Doesn't mean I will buy everything I'm showing here. These are just things that interest me that I want to look at to decide.

These storage boxes would be perfect for my Thirty-One Catalogs.

And I am needing some new pens for my planner and I want colored ones. I have had these in black and blue and loved them. They are definitely on my list.

Hobby Lobby carries this same thing for about $8. So scoring one of these for $1 would be awesome.

I will definitely be checking out these signs for my Valentine's Day decorating.

Love these little canvas signs. If they have these, I may get one to send Mom.

I see people showing these all the time. Little two drawer desk top containers. These would be great for my desk to hold rubber bands and paper clips or perhaps stationary and stamps (yes I sometimes still send letters). It would depend on their size.

I need a new Welcome mat since my blue away in a recent wind storm. You can't beat the price of $1.00.

I have been in the market for a new set of glasses for the past few months. I had purchased a Dollar Tree glass that had Christmas decor on it. It was made like this blue one so if I can find this, I may buy me a set of 4 because I loved the feel of these glasses.

How cute are these little clip board houses where you can put a picture of your family.

I like these candle holders or you could use them as a pencil holder, make-up brushes, craft glue sticks, lots and lots of ideas.

Of course I will be looking at more Valentine's decor for my 3 tier stand.

And check out these travel cups...TWO per pack for a buck. A must have on my list.

I love these vases. A great idea for do-it-yourself bouquets for those you love at Valentine's. You could even get the flowers at Dollar Tree.

I adore these travel/road signs. I would love to find me a couple of these.

This last thing I am not wanting to buy just wanted to share because it was in one of my Dollar Tree craft groups. It saved as black and white the the ribbon and house were actually silver with glitter. But the interest thing is she made these from the Dollar Tree brand of dusters. Those white fluffy things are a couple of boxes of the Dollar Tree brand of dusters. Too cute.

Hope you have a great Friday.

Snowman humor

With so much of the country getting weird cold and snowy weather, I thought it would be a good day for snowman humor. Enjoy.

Random Wednesday

Some things I have been meaning to share.....

We had Secret Santa at work this year. A gentleman by the name of Charles got my name. He and his wife Lydia are dear friends of mine. He apparently remembered me showing him the post on my blog about my Peppermint Dust Hot Chocolate where I use a nutmeg grater to grate candy canes into my chocolate. I went in to work and this was under the tree. He did it all himself. I was very impressed.

He had bought me a basket (which I am using in my craft room) and he filled it with all the makings for my peppermint dust hot chocolate...including a new cup to make it in. I love getting thoughtful gifts where the giver takes the time to put real thought in the gift.

So the very next morning I had some while I worked on my blog. It was so good. Thanks, Charles, for such a thoughtful gift.

A lady named Dee that I work with asked me one day to spell all the names of my family members. It had been awhile and I had forgotten all about it. Then she gave me this gift for Christmas. I love things that are personalized so I just adore this. Thank you so much Dee. I absolutely love it.

Last Saturday night I attended my first live Facebook party for a friend who is selling Paparazzi jewelry. Everything they have is just $5.00. Every necklace comes with matching earrings and all their jewelry is nickel and lead free. They do a live video and show you the jewelry they have in their inventory and give you a # for that piece. If you like it, you comment SOLD and the item # and it's yours. I bought this piece that I fell in love with. The color is gunmetal black with pink stones. It's gorgeous. The picture doesn't do it justice. I can't wait to wear it.

New Year's eve got a little crazy. I had to work until 10:00 that night and somewhere around 8:00 somebody said it was snowing. We were all like WHAT??? So I had to go out and see for myself. It wasn't much and the roads were bad but when you weren't expecting anything, this was kind of neat. Do you like our Dixie Stampede lawn ornaments. These balls are huge.

I am going to Hobby Lobby this weekend and hopefully get some charms to make my Happy Planner charm chain. This is just one example of the planner charms.

I still need to make it to Old Time Pottery to check out their vintage style glassware. I really want some of this but not sure if they still carry it.

And hopefully I will be able to find this new dish set at Walmart. I wanted it for Christmas but they weren't carrying it at my Walmart. I am going to  check some neighboring towns.

We just got a new Checkers restaurant in a few weeks ago. I haven't ever been to one but they say the food is really good. I would like to try these. They are funnel cake fries. Yes that is a funnel cake...shaped like a fry. I love funnel cake so I may have to try these.

Well, that's all my random thought for the day. Have a great day.

Some craft thoughts...

I wanted to share some cute simple craft projects I came across that I saved a couple of years ago. Paper medallion flowers are so simple and I love the way they displayed these.

Cute way of decorated the unfinished wood alphabet from AC Moore and Hobby Lobby.

I just love these. I'm just not sure if it is wood covered with fabric or what. That is what I think you would need (kind of a mod podge covered) if you are going to do this outside.

We did this in Children's Church one year. I felt guilty getting so many paint samples of the same shade so I asked the paint clerk in Lowe's and he gave me what I needed so I could make this with the kids without feeling bad.

Super simple. Super cute. I made this a couple of years ago as a gift. Need to make me one for the house.

These hearts made from scrapbook card stock are cute. I may try them this year. Looks like they punched a hole and put them together with brads.

Another cute craft idea with paint charts. I may have to talk to the guy at Lowe's again.

This is cute. It would be simple to make.

I fell in love with these felt sachets. Too adorable for words.

What will you make for crafts during the cold winter months?

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Welcome in 2018. Time for my word of the year. I think the hardest thing for me in 2017 was accomplishing things I wanted to do. The past three years I have had words like joy, believe, dream. Well, I never seem to have a problem finding joy in the small things. So that word worked out good. The year I used dream I made a lot of plans and had a lot of longings for things I wanted to accomplished. But due to other changes in my life, dreaming was more of a "I wish..." type year. The year I did believe I accomplished a little more of my goals because I tried to keep the mindset that I BELIEVED I could accomplish anything I wanted to. But I still didn't have the success I had hoped with my plans for the year.

So as I was thinking about what I want to do this year and the things I want to accomplish, I realized that I can dream and I can believe all I want but if I don't stay focused I am never going to achieve what I want. So my word for 2018 is going to be FOCUS.

I love the compass emblem. It signifies to stay on your path and not get lost along the way.  So if FOCUS is my word for the year, I think compass will be my item of the year.

Ms. Debbie at Jeremiah-2911. com  loves acronyms. I thought of her when I found this one for my word this year. I love it. I am going to print this out and put it on my wall at home.

I will test the power of my new word on the very first day I am using it. I have to work for a little while today, but when I get home I want to focus on getting Christmas put away and setting the house back to normal. I won't have time to accomplish it all tonight but I will finish up tomorrow. It's just important for me to focus on one step at a time instead of trying to do everything today. We will see how focused I can stay without getting sidetracked.

People may laugh at me because I am one year away from being able to retire and you would think I would be planning on slowing down. But I hope to work another 5-10 years if I can. So if I am going to be working, then I am going to be dreaming and planning. It doesn't matter how old I get, I have things I want to do.

I am loving using my new Happy Planner I got for Christmas. I carry it with me every day to work. My work bag I use the most is getting a little worn so I need to get something new. Thirty-One is introducing the cross body organizing tote. It is just perfect for my work bag.  It comes in three patterns and I was having a hard time deciding which one I like the best.

I wanted to have it personalized so when I went to Thirty-One to look at my choices I found the perfect personalization for this bag. A COMPASS! Apparently it was a good choice to choose FOCUS for my word this year.
And in my true tradition of getting good bargains, this one is one of the best. This new bag they are coming out with in spring was offered as part of their Customer Appreciation Celebration through the 14th of January. It is going to be $38.00 but if we buy during the appreciation event they are letting it sell for $22.00. That in itself is a bargain. But did I pay $22 for mine? Of course not. I did a Facebook party to try to get a $200 order together so I could order this as my 1/2 off hostess product for having the party. It was a success (and it is still running through the 14th) but I have enough that I can order the bag 1/2 off. So I am getting it for $11.00. That means I saved $27 total from the retail price. So I guess staying focused is already paying off.

I would love to see comments from you with what your word is going to be for 2018. Have a Happy New Year!

Goodbye 2017

As we say goodbye to 2017, my wish for you is that all your dreams will be fulfilled in 2018. May you find peace, happiness and joy.

Remember to reach for the stars and not let anybody stand in your way. People will try to steal your joy. They will make fun of the things you do and say in an effort to undermine your dreams and hopes.

Hold tight to those dreams and keep the negativity out of your life. Just because someone wants to drag you down with them doesn't mean you have to let them.
