Friday Foto Friends

Hooking up today with Friday Foto Friends.

We had a little storm pop up unexpectedly the other day. It didn't last long, but the wind was a strong wind.

It was blowing the rain in all directions. In front of my porch it was raining down and to the left. But over beside the house it was blowing to the right. It was strange.

My neighbor has a green thumb. His wife bought a pack of flower seeds. One pack. Just to try. He built a wooden frame, filled it with soil, scattered the seeds and let nature do it's thing. He watered when we didn't have rain and left it alone when we did. And I love the result. They are beautiful.

My new camera

Awhile back, I was given a camera from a friend. Long story short, I was very happy to receive it. It is a Panasonic and has 16MP with a 10X zoom. My phone is 5MP with a 4X zoom so you can imagine how excited I am to have a camera that I can get better pics for. It has a zoom lens that extracts and retracts. I'm loving it.
So I took some pics to test the zoom. This is the field across from me. See the big tree? Beside it is the little tree. Beside it is just some tall weeds. At the end of my driveway is a (I think) pink azalea bush.

So I zoomed in for the same pic and captured the little tree and the weeds.

I zoomed out some and moved about 6" to the right and got a better picture of my pretty flowers, whatever they are.

So then I pointed the camera at just the bush and zoomed some more and really brought them close.

But I especially loved standing on the porch and taking a pic of my neighbors bird feeders in his yard.

And zoomed in to catch a female cardinal at the feeder. It was so neat.

Now maybe I can get some good picture for Friday Foto Friends. It may be hard to get good ones for tomorrow since my car is in the shop so I won't be going anywhere. But I'll get some soon.

Corelle & Pyrex Wish List

I love Corelle and Pyrex. I have been looking for some of these Christmas plates. I need to go to the Outlet soon and see what they have.

They are coming out with new patterns on the storage bowls I love. They are the perfect size and stack just great in the fridge.

They are even bringing them out in old Pyrex Patterns like the snowflake garland.

But the one that has me thrilled and has been put on my must have list is the 60th Anniversary of their original pattern, Cornflower blue. I have always loved this pattern.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary, they have come out with a four piece dish set. A service for four people is less than $30 at Walmart. I am loving this.

They even have the serving tray that I love. I have 2 or 3 of these in different patterns.

But the biggest excitement is the introduction of this pattern in a mixing bowl design with a 3 piece set.

They have them at several places. Walmart carries them for around $27 but the Corelle Outlet has them for $23. And of course I am checking to see what kind of coupon I can get for the Outlet store.

This is probably the #1 item on my wish list at this time.

Hope you have a great day.

Beach Humor

I have not been on my beach vacation yet this year. It is coming up soon, but not soon enough. Here's some beach humor to remind me that one day soon I will get to go.

Time for a change

My living room furniture is older but it is in excellent shape. No wobbling arms, not broken springs. The cushions are still nice and fluffy. However, the fabric floral brocade, which I have always loved. But it is totally outdated. On top of that the fabric is starting to thin in places and some spots are starting to look a little threadbare.

And ever holiday, I love holiday throw pillows but the reds and greens of Christmas or the orange and browns of fall don't go good with floral furniture. So I am going to purchase some Sure Fit slip covers and go with a neutral. I have been looking at various tans and browns but just not feeling it. With the blue carpet, it dawned on me that gray might be pretty. So I went to Google and found some pictures. Check out this gray and how awesome it goes with Christmas colors. I think I may just get some gray one.

A little scare

It's a little blurry because I had to zoom in on a phone camera and it was 11:00 at night. But yes, that is a BIG skunk. In my yard. When I pulled in from work. One ran around the neighbors house as I pulled in the drive way, but this one stayed. I thought, "Okay, I'm not getting out." "EVER". Because the stupid skunk just kept eating. He would raise his head and look at me and keep eating. Then he would walk toward the car and stop and eat. Then he would turn sideways and stop and eat. I sat in the car. I flash lights on bright. Nothing. Turned them off. Nothing. Turn them on again. Nothing. THEN, I honked my horn which I am sure my neighbors did not appreciate. But nothing. So I watched and when he turned facing to eat, (I didn't want his back end pointing in my direction) I put my bag on my arm, turn off the car lights and made a run for it up the steps and into the house. Once I was safely in, I locked the car alarm for the night and waited for the smell I knew would fill my world. But amazingly enough, he never did spray. I looked outside about an hour later and he was still there happily munching away. The whole thing was weird.

A wandering mind...

I worked a long day yesterday and instead of making me tired, it made me restless. This is result of going ahead and getting up at 4:30 a.m. instead of laying there tossing and turning any longer. I just went to Pinterest and scrolled through things it recommended I might like. Turns out Pinterest knows me pretty well.

I like to paint jars but I'm not the worlds best painter. But I betcha I could do a great job like this since it doesn't have to be perfect. I wonder if Hobby Lobby has those exact flowers because I really like this.

I think this year at Christmas instead of incorporating Christmas around my Pyrex, I will just put my Pyrex in the top cabinet so I can still use it, but decorate my bakers rack with lots of pretty Christmas.

These are so cute. I could definitely accomplish this is I ever get (take) time to try it.

One of my granddaughters love Jo Jo bows and mermaids. How cute and simple does this look. The yarn looks crimped and you can buy yarn that looks like that so it would be very easy to do.

Definitely want to remember this one for decorating inside our Children's Church room. The kids would love making it.

A cute, simple wreath for my beach bathroom.

Another super easy, super simple craft.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that I got my fall catalog for Thirty-One. Made my wish list (over $300 in retail price for "I'd love to have" items). However, I take up orders to earn hostess rewards, work to earn bonus items, and make some purchases at my cost. I did end up being able to get two items that I had on my wish list. I can't wait till they get in. I love red barns so I just had to have this on my work bag.

But I'm super excited about my new Double Zip Cross body. Two sections, one outside pocket, two inside pockets. I love the dark olive green and merlot threads in the design.

This is a cute display for Halloween.

But this one just cracked me up. I saved it on Pinterest so I can go back and see how they made it. I may just have to do this.

Well, that's it for today. Have a great Saturday.
