My latest obsession....

I have liked pink for awhile, but recently I have fallen in love with the soft shades of powder pink. Then in the mail I get a holiday guide from Thirty-One and it has some new pink items. I am in love. I am going to need to get these before spring gets here.

Pretty in Pink

I am all about red and green at Christmas. I occasionally will throw some aqua into the mix. I love my sparkly gold and silver as well. But I just never considered a Pink Christmas. I think it would be a little too much from the traditional for my taste. Having said that, I do want to show you some beautiful pink decor I saw on Pinterest. While I would never do it, I do love pink and these are very pretty.

The little pink and green trees together are cute.

I especially love this. How intricate and delicate.

Powder puff pink...EVERYWHERE! Not for me for Christmas. I would love a pale pink Victorian bedroom.

Now I might be convinced to set out a nutcracker like this. He's handsome in his pink.

And last but not least, my favorite. A vintage pink Christmas. I fell in love with this.

The Cat and the Christmas Tree

If you have a cat and you celebrate Christmas, chances are you have a cat and the Christmas tree story. Lots of people go through this combo every year. I had my sweet K.C. for 17 years before we had to put her to sleep. She was a 100% house cat. Even afraid of the outside. Every year she would lay and stare at the tree but never bothered it while we were up. We never saw any evidence of destruction when we got up each day. Then she would saunter out of a bedroom and she would have a piece of icicle on her back. So I knew she had been under it. Then when we would put Christmas away in January and move the furniture back around, we would find a pile of about 4 or 5 balls from the bottom back of the tree that she had "stored" under the couch. She did that every year, but never anything where you could tell she had been near the tree. It was so funny. So in honor of my cat and the Christmas Tree, I thought I would share some funny cat memes I found on the internet.

Happy December!

I am so excited for this time of year. I love the season for many reasons. First and foremost is the birth of Jesus. No matter how much I decorate or how much fun I have over the holiday, I never ever forget the reason for the season.

But I also love the fact that this is my birthday month. It's not a big one for most people. But it is to me. I will be 62. That doesn't mean I am going to retire or anything, it just means that if I ever decide to the option is sitting there waiting for me. I don't act 62 and most days I don't feel 62, but it still feels like a milestone and I am excited. It won't be for a couple of weeks, but I am going to enjoy my birthday month. I tease my pals at work all the time and tell them I am the Queen. It's a running joke. But apparently it is true, because I saw this on the internet today. You know what they say "If it's on the internet, it must be true. Just kidding but it is fun to treat yourself like you are a queen.

I am going to celebrate the whole month by doing one thing every day that brings me joy. I already have a plan for today to surprise a sweet girl I work with. She doesn't have a clue what surprise I have in store for her, but she will love it and I will love seeing her face.
