What to wear, what to wear?

Woman struggle daily with one major problem in their life.....CLOTHING. What to wear, what to wear? I am blessed in the fact that my work outfit is a "uniform" of black pants and a red sweater with a black t-shirt under it. Spring it will become black pants with a royal blue polo. The only struggle I face five days a week is which pair of black pants to wear and if I want the short sleeve or the long sleeve black tee under the sweater. With our crazy weather it is a dilemma because it may say it will be in mid-high 60's but when there is thunder and rain it can get chilly.

So with 5 of my days being an easy decision you would think I would have a very clean closet because I don't need as many clothes. WRONG! When I have days off, go out in the evening or go to church on Sunday, I have WAY too many clothes to choose from. BUT I don't throw anything away because I might wear it some day. I had over 20 sweaters that are gorgeous. That's a lot to choose from. They are in great shape because I am very easy on my clothes. They always last a long time. So why do I alternate between my three favorite solids and two that a have pretty patterns. That's right. Twenty sweaters and I have went back and forth all winter with the same five.

I think I need an intervention. Maybe I could hang those five in somebody else's closet so I am forced to wear something else. Maybe I should have a rule where I hang them up in an order and when I wash one it goes back to the back of the closet and I can't wear it again until it works it's way back to the front. I don't know what the answer is, but I really, really, really need to clean out my closet.

Faith Filled Friday

Esther 4:14 is one of my favorite bible verses. I did a Beth Moore bible study several years ago on Esther. In this verse, Mordecai is urging Esther to intercede on behalf of her people in order to save them. The last part of that verse "For such a time of this?" has stuck with me.

Through hard times and good times, just out of the blue when I am thinking about my blessing or stressing over my woes, that verse will pop into my head. I believe it is God's way of telling me that I am where I am at that moment in my life because there is where He wants me to be.

I may not know the reason and where I am at that time may make no sense to me whatsoever, but in God's eyes He has brought me there "for such a time as this." It is so much easier to accept your current situation in life once you accept that it is all a part of God's master plan.

Throwback Thursday

This is the grandchildren that my Mamaw Eden had. This would have been in the early 1960's. Lot of love among us cousins. There were more born later.

This is the picture of my Mom's granddaughters. There is a special bond and closeness when it is with cousins. The line blurs between who is a sister to who when they are all together. Because in truth, the way they act and the closeness they share, you would think they were all sisters. This one was probably about 12 years ago.

Top 10 Pyrex Displays

I am constantly looking for ideas of displaying Pyrex along with other vintage items. Here are some of the one I have found that I just love.

I see lots of pink, blue and yellow vintage items, but never thought to put them together like this.

I have some of the red and gold friendship Pyrex pattern. Never occured to me how good it would look with the blue.

How adorable with the little owls filtered into it.

I love these colors all together. I need to find some solids.

So the solid colors don't have to be just the primary. They look good with any colors.

This isn't Pyrex but it is cute.

Perfect for Valentine's Day.

Loving the Pyrex and the cookie jars with the tea pots.

But I think this pink and yellow is my favorite ever.

I would be curious to know how many of you collect Pyrex?

Just a flippin' and a floppin'

Over the past couple of years, I have been given a gift that was Tommy Hilfiger flip flops. I love them. These are the two pairs I have and I want more.

The next two pair are the ones I would love to find.

But I also want some dressy sandals that would be good for going out some place nice to eat at the beach. I fell in love with these.

But since they may be overkill and not good to wear very many occasions, I do like these.

These Minnetonka ones look like they could possibly amazingly comfortable.

I also like these for those dressier occasions where flip flops are acceptable.

Cute and casual looking.

These sparkle. I just love flip flops that sparkle.

Guess I have a new summer flip flop wish list.

Weekend Wrap Up

It was a fairly decent weekend weather wise but we did have some rainy moments. Lots of rainy moments actually. Some of the areas that flooded in the last big rain have not returned to normal and are back up crossing over roads again in outer lying areas. But I did manage to have a good weekend. I had went last week to McKay's and picked up some books. A friend of mine brought some to me from work as well. I have 31 books to read right now so I am set for awhile.

My little bookshelf was given to me and I have never gotten around to painting it or staining it. I think I am going with a soft creamy white so it will fit in any room. I'll keep you posted on the process.

I decorated the table for St. Patrick's Day. I set out a few other things around the house. I do love the way the table turned out.

Did some retail therapy this weekend but didn't spend much. All I found I wanted was this little sign. I have two friends who love my cake and this sign made me think of them.

I got my first box of Girl Scouts cookies this year. I used only eat the thin mints. But any more, I am all about the do-si-do peanut butter ones.

I am in the process of writing a book. But I also have decided to create a cookbook of my favorite recipes. This is one of my favorite pictures of food I have made so I may use it on the front of the cookbook. I'll just have to wait and see.

Celtic Thunder

I have discovered an amazing group called Celtic Thunder. I thought a little Celtic music would be great to play as St. Patrick's Day approaches.
