The great flip flop hunt is on.....

First, let me say I think I may be addicted to flip flops. I have 19 pairs and I have a very hard problem throwing them away when they wear out. The inside soul can get worn and tattered and I still don't want to part with them. But I have 3 or 4 pair that really should go. I didn't realize how many I had until I got them all out last night.



My favorite pair of black flip flops is going to need to be replaced. The inner sole is cork and it is disintegrating. I am sad. So, today is starting the great flip flop hunt for something comfortable and thin straps so I can replace them. I've gotten a head start and searched online at my stores I will be visiting today. I have decided that Sears, Target or Belk will have something I like. I don't remember which of these came from where, but I'm hitting all three stores today so I will figure it out. I liked the looks of these.

This is the pair I really think will work for what I want. The strap is thin and sole is thin and looks really comfy. This one was at Sears for just $12.99.

This one looks like it would be comfortable but I'm just not sure.

I like the bow, but I think I would feel silly wearing these at my age.  

I like the bling on this one but I don't like the tiny little heel. I like flat flip flops the best.

However, even with the little heel I fell in love with this one. Love the gold medallion. 

I may pick up two pairs if I can find these in stock in my size. I love these shoes. 

I adore these sparkly ones. I have nail polish this exact shade that glitters and sparkles as well. These are just $6.00 but I don't remember if I saw them at Sears or Target. 

And don't laugh at me, but OH MY GOSH! Gold tone jelly shoes for just $6.50. I would love to find these. 

One thing I know for sure is that I will not come home today until I have found some new flip flops.

Decisions, decisions, decisions

Last night, I decided to buy a new cover for my cell phone. I have had the same one ever since I bought the phone and it is just plain white. I spent about 90 minutes last night jumping from site to site, comparing prices and looking at patterns. I was overwhelmed. I really wanted something in pink. So this caught my eye. 

But the one I had was white so I really wanted something without the white background. I kept looking and found this one but the picture is so blurry I was afraid to try it. I wasn't sure if it was the picture or the drawing on the case. So I decided to pass on this one. 

So I thought maybe plain pink, but that just didn't feel right either. 

So then I figured oh well I would give up on pink and I saw this one. I kept going back to it. I really like the look of it, but it wasn't pink. So I kept on with my search. 

This appealed to me because I like flowers. But the more I looked at it, I realized I don't like green. And the more I looked at it, I decided it was too "busy".

I finally gave up and went to bed. I got up this morning and decided to take one more look. I scrolled through and saw all the ones above again and still wasn't feeling the love. Then I found this one! 

YES! That is me. I am so into dots right now and it is PINK! I think I'm in love. I ordered it. Just $7.89 with free shipping. Can't beat that. Hope everybody has a great day. 

My growing love for UPS

It is such a thrill to see the UPS truck rolling down the hill and stopping at my driveway. My order for the sneak peak of summer items arrived today. I could not be happier.

As much as I wanted to rip into the box, being a blogger I had to document the unveiling. I couldn't wait to see everything.

The first item was the new lunch box they are coming out with for summer. It is a thermal and called the Cool Case Thermal. It will be in four different patterns including a black and a camo for boys/men. I normally don't feel like packing a lunch, but I can guarantee I will be excited to take my lunch now.

The next item was the Cinch Sac in the new Sweet Suits pattern. How adorable is this? This is a perfect back pack for a day at the water park or swimming pool or to take down to the beach.

But my favorite is the Fresh Market Thermal in the new Sunny Stripe pattern. This is awesome for trips to Sam's or Costco to bring back frozen or cold items in. The neat thing about it is that it will also hold a crockpot for easy carrying to those family or social gatherings. This is going to be on the May special for 1/2 off!

One great thing about being a Thirty-One consultant are the deals they offer exclusively to consultants. These products out of the new catalog with the personalization on the lunch box total $95. But in the pre-sale for consultants I got it all for just $31.00! You can't beat a deal like that. 

Getting older....

We all get older and nobody likes it. We dread it happening to us and we sees "signs" of old age in everything we do. Well, my hubby hit 62 this weekend. He got a very cute card from his co-workers letting him know how he could tell when he got old. I thought I would share these tidbits with those of you who, like myself, are watching for signs.

You know you are getting old when....

Everything hurts and what doesn't hurt, doesn't work.

You feel like the morning after and you didn't go anywhere the night before.

Your knees buckle and your belt won't.

You can only burn the midnight oil until around 9:00.

The twinkle in your your eyes is the sun hitting your bifocals.

Your back goes out more than you do.

Weekend Wrap Up

I'm a little late on my weekend wrap up. I've had a hacking cough for 5 days and have not slept well. It is easing up some and I got some sleep last night so I feel ready to tackle the weekend wrap up. 

Friday night, I made lemon cookies with creamy lemon icing to take to my Thirty One Celebrate & Connect (C & C) meeting on Saturday.

Saturday I headed out to the meeting for a couple of hours of fun with my Thirty-One sisters. We had to do an exercise that included doing selfies. I do not do selfies so this really pulled me out of my comfort zone. I coerced my friend Theresa (R) to take one with me. We didn't realize our two buddies behind us were going to get in on the act. We had a ball with it. 

We got to see the summer line and learn about the new products coming out in May. We each got to go home with our new amenity...the Deluxe Utility Tote. It is bigger than the Large Utility Tote and has a reinforced bottom that will carry up to 100 pounds. I love the flip flop pattern. 

It comes with the carry straps like all the utility totes or it has handles on the sides to carry it. It has three pockets on the front. It is awesome. I just love getting free products. 

After the meeting I ran a few errands then came home to clean the house. I was looking through my holiday boxes trying to find my Easter egg wreath when I stumbled on this little toothpick holder I had forgotten about. I pulled out my milk glass platter and rearranged my table centerpiece for the little ducks to go on.

I love the way it turned out.

I also found my little peeps cup and my Easter tea for one.

I added them to my kitchen Easter display.

I had traded a piece of Pyrex for two milk glass planters. I had a philodendron that I replanted and I found this cute little pink/green plant at Lowe's. I'm taking them to my office where they will get plenty of sunshine.

I was so tired Saturday night so I just laid around and watched TV. Sunday morning, I got up early and while the house was quiet I had a snack and looked through my new Thirty-One Summer catalog to see what all the new items are going to be. I need to work on my wish list. 

Then I headed out to Sunday School and church. We had movie day for the little ones during Sunday School class. They really enjoyed it. I think the teachers enjoyed it as much as they did.

All in all it was a great, relaxing weekend.
