Weekend wrap up...

It was a great weekend and yes I do realize I am doing my weekend wrap up on hump day. I installed Microsoft Office 365 and it deleted my picture manager. I had stuff to share and it has taken me a couple of days to be able to edit the pictures so they weren't so huge. But I'm happy to announce I solve the problem.  I actually made it to some yard sales this past weekend. Don't laugh, but one of the first things I grabbed was a T.P. stand. I hate where the wall one is located and it is so awkward. I love this.

And I am a sucker for a Homer McLaughlin platter. I am going to buy one every time I see it. Especially for .50 cents.

As you know, I love vintage stuff. This canister had some vibrant colors. I am going to use it to hold stuff in my craft room.

I am also a sucker for small unique pitchers. This was just a quarter so I snatched it up.

I love tins and I just fell in love with this heart shaped one.

It goes good with the red one I already had that I keep Hershey Kisses in. Since I have two now does it mean I officially collect heart shaped tins? We'll see.

When I got home from the yard sales, I saw this on the porch.

The remainder of my amenities from my Thirty-One conference arrived. I was thrilled.

I got the new 24/7 Case in the new plum Chevron pattern.

And the new Sling Back Bag in plum plaid.

And the big new Bleacher Blanket in Spirit Black.

And the thing every consultant loves to get....a pack of the new fall catalog.

Add all those to the amenities I received while I was there...

Like the Timeless Memory pouches in Penguin Party and Red Chevron....

The new Keep it Tote in Black Chevron.....

And the set of Oh Snap! bins....

....and now you know why I love working for Thirty-One. That's a lot of freebies. The total value of all this free stuff was from Thirty-One is $185.00. Am I happy?  Oh yeah!

Upside down

I feel like I have been upside down for over a week. I just am not having time to blog in the mornings like I used to. I figure I will just do it at night and then the evening gets away from me. Hubby's scheduled has changed and then changed again. I am trying to implement everything I learned at conference into my business. I am just about to wear myself out. I need to stop, take a deep breath and get rid of the feeling that I am standing on my head.

To let you know how crazy mixed up I have been....I ordered my fall add on kit from Thirty-One and got the shipping notice today and I had completely forgotten I had ordered it.

And even worse, I made brownies Saturday and forgot to eat any yesterday!!!!

OH MY WORD! I can't have that happening. Think I'll go get some ice cold milk and have a brownie...or two.

Lady in Pink

My mind has been going round and round on what I want to do in my office. Yesterday, I wanted to go rustic/vintage or something like that. But then I looked around at all my pinks, blues, yellows, tea pots, tea cups, doilies and other various girly stuff and realized I would have to invest a fortune in redoing a whole new theme.

So I was back to square one. I decided since I am a girly girl and I work for a company who is all about women, I decided my home office will continue in the same office color scheme, but will do most of my organizing by using things I already have. The only thing I got done so far, was to use my empty milk glass bowl to hold my postcards and I put that with a decor setting I already had.

I've been using this for awhile now, but I just moved where I had it and put my paperclips in it on my desk.

Since I have tea stuff everywhere in my office because I collect it, I decided to use this short fat tea pot for a pencil holder.

I moved one of my milk glass flower vases to my desk. I am liking the look so far.

I have a board in my home office where I keep my motivational pictures and my rewards for selling Thirty-One, but most of these are older from the past couple of years.

When I got back from national conference, I took one of the little cards that had our theme "Dream it, Be it" on it and found a pink scrapbook I have that I have never used.

This box is full of scrapbook paper and embellishments so I am going to take everything off my board and use it for current items and keep the memories in the above scrapbook so I can look back at my achievements and successes when business is slow.

Well, I 'm going to head to the local office supply store today. I want to find some brocade pieces to organize my desk.

I saw that Office Max carries them so I am going to head that way today.

My home office....

On my to do list is to revamp and reorganize my home office. It is a random mish-mash of work areas and I spend more time trying to figure out where everything is than I do getting actual work done. I wanted some ideas to spruce up my work area at home so I went to Pinterest. Here are some ideas I got.

My work from home job is as a Thirty-One Consultant. This is still way to cluttered but I do use a motivational bulletin board to stick my goals and my inspirational cards I get when I earn a freebie, so I see a few things in this that I like.

Fun desk area. The turquoise letters look great on the gray walls!

I have the dark Sauder furniture in my office so some of these ideas would look good with my furniture.

Get Your Home Office Organized: I wish I had any idea how to build and recreate this exact space! Perfection!

I find myself leaning toward the pinks and blues, but then when I incorporate that color into my office I am not sure I like it.

I have several random tables and cabinets in my office so I do like the idea of doing something similar to this with the stuff I already have.

I do need to get some organizing trays for my drawer. Right now, they are a mess of hodge-podge supplies.

I do like these little organizers, especially the one with the star shape dividers on the right.

A nice little flower part would make a cute pencil holder. So would a coffee mug.

I got to thinking that maybe my office is too girly when I try to do pink and blue. It may be overkill since my furniture is dark. So I am wondering if I should go in another direction. There are some good ideas in this picture.

And if I did that, I could incorporate some unique items such as this.

I fell in love with this idea because I have a ton of jars with rings.

Then I saw this and thought, Oh wow I could incorporate some vintage into the office and give it a less modern fill.

I think this weekend, I am going to strip everything off all the walls, cabinets and desk and start from scratch with things I have around the house and in the closet and see what I can come up with. I will keep you posted.

Summer sales

I don't know about your area of the world, but here in Kodak, Tennessee yard sales have been pathetic this year. There have not been as many as usual. People are not advertising them. And when they do advertise or I do stumble upon one, they don't have squat as far as good stuff goes. I still have some Pyrex I'm looking for and even our antique stores are having the same old things when I go because they are being priced to high. Here are some of the things I am looking for.

Pyrex Green Medallion Promotional Cinderella Bowl

I just love seeing how others display their Pyrex so I can get ideas. I just wish I could find some new stuff to display.

Happy birthday, Shelby

Today, my granddaughter Shelby turned 6 years old. She has a very unique personality and you never know what she is going to come up with next. The other night, her mom found her playing Ninja.

She has her own sense of style...right or wrong...she doesn't care. She loves to accessorize.

She believes she is a princess and will sometimes make you hold your hand out to help from the car like she is really royalty.

Whether she is being a rock star....

Or using her mommy's Kindle for an x-ray machine for her mini dolls...

She eventually wears herself down and crashes...even in the middle of a snack.

She is a bundle of energy that looks just like her mommy.

Happy birthday, Shelby Rayne, we love you no matter how quirky you get.
