Finally....

Every time I decide to organize my home office which is also my craft room, I get impatient and try to do it all at once. Then I don't like it and I have to start over again. Finally, I realized the key is to take baby steps and just do a little at a time.

So I started with one shelf in my bookcases. I refuse to show the before pics because they were a disorganized mess, but here is the after. The little silver box holds Thank You cards to send to my hostesses.

I love that the Fold-n-File could be turned on it's end to display my notebooks that I use in my business.

My white brocade file folder and tray add a little elegance to it, I think. I am just really, really happy with the results so far.

The theme of our conference was Dream it, Be IT! So this is my Be It Board to keep me motivated in my business and to help me become a success.

And for additional motivation, I changed my computer desktop to the view that will be from our hotel room when we go to Panama City Beach next month. I can't wait.

Well that is 1/4 of the room fixed the way I want it. Going to work on another 1/4 this weekend. I'll show you pics when I get that done.

Call me crazy....

I am still in Christmas crafting idea mode. I did the search for felt crafts so I went back and did one for fabric. Here are some of the finds I found. Some I love but don't know if I have the talent to do them. Others were so simple that I know they are going on my to do list. I am spending August accumulating supplies and then I am starting to craft come September 1st. I have a plan.

Top 10 Turquoise Tuesday

I am slowly falling in love with turquoise. It is actually one of my birthstones. It comes in so many shades. Some are clothes to a robin's egg blue and some are darker. I especially adore some of the turquoise picture frames I have been seeing online.

I would love to find an old dresser I could paint like this.

Turquoise Dresser Makeover. OMG! You have to see the complete makeover on this old dresser. Fabulous!

How exquisite is this gorgeous tea cup and saucer.

I love the old dial phone. I wish we still used them. I would love to have one in this color for my home office.

beechwood 4-5789...hahaha...yep, these were our phones! You could stretch those cords all over the house to get away from nosey listeners...and they were sturdy! Indestructible!

What a comfy way to lay outside and read.

I love these old vintage dresses.

I need to try to do my nails like this. I have the blue and I have sparkle. I might just do that this weekend.

I have always loved pictures of old red barns....until I saw this old barn. I wish I had room to build a barn just so I could paint it like this.

I love the idea of a barn as a wedding venue <3

And one of these days I would love to own a full set of the Pyrex turquoise mixing bowls. Online they go for close to $200 for the set so I am sure this is just a pipe dream of mine because I would never pay that for bowls.

Have a great day.

Weekend wrap up

It started out Friday with my last box arriving from Thirty-One with my add on kit for the new fall line. I am so glad they brought back the make up case that everybody uses for a bible case.

I made a run to the Half-Off Scrapbook store and picked up some Halloween 8 1/2 x 11 sheets at 25 sheets for .99 cents. Then they take 50% off at the register of everything in the store. So I got the 25 sheets for .50 total.....I definitely got my .02 cents worth.

Some of the sheets I got were for Christmas.

Some of my projects will require a bigger sheet so I got some of the .99 cents sheets which ended up being .49 cents each.

Same goes for some Christmas ones for .49 cents each.

They always throw in some freebies in your bag every time you buy anything.

Then on Sunday, I needed some antique therapy so I went to Jefferson City to Farmhouse Antiques. I might add I drove the 21.3 miles to get there in a torrential downpour with lightening, thunder and poor visibility all around me. It wasn't like that when I left home, but about 2 miles down the road it did sneak up on me.

But it was so worth the trip. Not every booth is all antiques so I did find a great bargain on this lighthouse. I don't know if it is going in the grandkid's beach room or my beach bathroom.

And I found this cute little pencil Santa candle holder. I love pencil Santa's so I snatched him up.

I found an extremely good deal on this 503 Pyrex pan in the Early American pattern.

But my favorite find of the day was this 043 in the Empire Scroll Vine pattern. It is my first piece in this pattern and I am thrilled.

As you can see, it was a very successful weekend.

In Christ Alone

She was fabulous on The Voice. This is her Easter song and I know it is not Easter but since I've been posting Halloween and Christmas these past two days, I figured an Easter song was fitting today.

Have a blessed day!

Crafting for Christmas

Yesterday, Halloween crafting and today Christmas. Mom is redoing her Christmas tree this year and wants to hand make some ornaments. Trust me, this is the time of year to get started on making any Christmas crafts. I always wait too late and never get them made. I went to Pinterest to get her some ideas and ended up getting some ideas for myself. Here are just a few of the things I am planning to work on for the little tree I put in my home office/craft room. These birds would be so simple and I already have burlap and jute string. I am sure I have little black buttons and may even have a small amount of red felt.

This is a simple idea. Just tie up some pretty Christmas material or solid material and tie it around a styrofoam ball with a pretty ribbon.

How cute is he? And because he is whimsical it doesn't have to be perfect.

I absolutely love music and especially Christmas music. This would be adorable.

Talk about simple, just lots of round circle glued together.

Okay now, this is absolutely, positively the cutest thing I have ever seen. Just roll little yarn balls and add a hook holder (which we always end up with in the bottom of the Christmas ball box). Stick a couple of beads on the ends of toothpicks and wahlah...you have miniature knitting needles. How cute is this for a tree in a craft room. I am in love. I have all the stuff to make these so I am going to get started on it this weekend.

Simple, easy, precious little reindeer heads.

Oh. My. Gosh! Could it get any easier. I have twigs. I have ribbons. Another perfect project.

These look a little bit more complicated, but I think I could do them. We will just have to wait and see.

Simple. Wouldn't even need directions.

I am in love with these little guys.

And oh my gosh! I love making paper chains. But I never once thought of using Christmas scrapbook paper to make one to go around my craft tree.

Talk about easy and a big variety. Another one for a cool fall even project.

Now I am mad at all the vintage cookie cutters I have past over this year at yard sales because I don't make cookies that require cutting. I knew I should have bought that back of 20 cookie cutters for .50 cents a few weeks ago.

Well, I think I need to get started if I am going to complete these projects before Christmas.
