Tonight's the night

For those who don't know, I am not a big TV fan. I have one or two shows I watch on a regular basis and that's about it. But the one show I try to never, ever miss is The Voice.

I made it through this entire season without missing one single minute of the show. Some nights on Tuesday's I would make it home at 7:58 just in time to slide on the couch and watch every minute of the live, the battles and the knockouts all the way through the live eliminations and the semi-finals.

But the performances are all in. The Top 4 have done their final performances. The votes are being cast and tonight we find out the winner of season 8. I have my pics just like everyone else, but without a shadow of a doubt I would love to see Sawyer take it all home. He turned all 4 chairs on his blind audition and three of them turned after the first few notes. His voice is that awesome.

In 8 seasons only one time did my favorite end up going home. So I am hoping my record holds and my prediction will be true that Sawyer will take it home tonight. His style is so unique and different. He succeeds at every song he has tackled this year. Some of the finalists have had moments where I thought, why did they try that or what were they thinking. But he has been spot on with every song choice and his vocal abilities just blow me out of the water week after week. Can't wait to see who wins. My second choice would be Megan or Coryn and Joshua is good, but he's just not one of my favorites. Good luck, Sawyer!

Here are a couple of my favorite Sawyer performances.

Weekend Wrap Up

I had a fabulous weekend. It started off with Alexis and Colby coming over to spend the whole weekend with me on Friday. We got up on Saturday morning and went to the Bloomin' Barbecue and Bluegrass festival in downtown Sevierville. We had a great time.

They had some bounce houses and a kid zone set up that were free and the kids loved playing there.

Colby was so excited to see the pig mascot. We had to track him down to get a photo op with him.

Sunday was my turn to do Children's Church. We did the lesson on David and Jonathan and the importance of friendship. Then we made Popsicle Pals. This was my sample and I thought it was rather creative....Till the kids in class started adding eye lashes and then making hair from the spare pipe cleaner. I love when their imaginations kick in.

Sunday night the family gathered at Applebee's for my grandson Caleb's birthday.

He was tickled to pieces with the new watch his mom and dad got him. It was a Zippo brand and he has had his eye on it for weeks. One very happy boy.

A few things I picked up this weekend. Saw this sign at Family Dollar on Friday for just $5.00. It goes good with my kitchen.

Saturday at the Festival there was a lady who made travel pillows and cases. I couldn't resist. I had to get one. She is also making me a couple of extra pillow cases. One in flip flops and one in anchors.

I got my order from the Thirty-One flash sale in. I am so excited about my new retro metro weekender.

And my wristlet.

And my Easy Breezy Tote.

I already had the organizing utility tote in the same pattern.

I am now set to travel for weekend trips with all my Citrus Medallion patterned pieces.

They discontinued that pattern but the new Bubble Bloom has the same color scheme. I will be using my make up case in the new pattern when I travel.

This has lots of room for make up and I don't use that much so I use one of the pockets to hold my jewelry.

After my busy weekend, I was wanting a snack Sunday night. So I gathered up some goodies.

This was the end result. It was delicious.

Now it is Monday and back to work time. I hope I can make it through the day. I have went non-stop for the past three weeks and I can tell it is about to catch up with me.

Thoughts for Sunday...

On Facebook, it gives you a flashback of your memories on specific days. It just randomly pops up. Today, mine popped up to show me what I posted today in 2011. It is as true now as it was then:

"I personally believe in Jesus Christ. One person on Facebook has challenged all believers to put this on their wall. The bible says, "If you deny me in front of your peers, I will deny you in front of my father." (Matthew 10:33) If you love God and you are not afraid to show it, re-post this."

Happy birthday to my grandson

Today is my grandson Caleb's birthday. He turns 12 today. I can't believe how much he is growing. He is already taller than me. He is in that age of changing into a responsible young man, but you can still see that young boy with the unstoppable spirit and the sweet giggles. I love him to pieces. It is so amazing to watch the changes as he grows older.

You can see he is taller than his Mommy and she even has on heels. Our baby is growing up.

Happy birthday Caleb. We love you.

Time for a little kitchen change

It is time to start the decor changes in my kitchen due to my new flooring. I was into the pastel, spring colors because my floor was ancient and pale, pale cream with tiny baby blue flowers in the corners of each square. But I love my new floor so much better than the old one. The deeper warmth made me decide to go back to the rich, warm colors and to bring my rooster theme back to the kitchen. I thought about a rooster tablecloth but didn't want to go into a rooster overkill mode. I love burgundy and was looking for a checkered or plaid tablecloth. Found this one at Kohl's online so I just bit the bullet and ordered it.  I can't wait to get it.

I am not just going for roosters but hens as well. I have a couple of roosters I love, but I want to get me a big sitting hen. I am going to Hobby Lobby in a couple of weeks and I plan on looking there. I know what I want and it is something like this.

Although I really love this set.

I will want to keep some whimsy in my farmhouse kitchen. I found this on Pinterest and just new he would look so good in my kitchen. Well, I googled it and found it at a place called Garden Fun.....FOR $26.99. Too steep for my blood. I love to shop, but I am very cheap frugal on what I will spend on something no matter how bad I want it. I am sure I can find something similar at a lot more reasonable price.

Check out this little kitchen timer. I need to see if I can find something like this. Our timer died and the one on our stove works fine, but a lot of times I will have something in the oven and something on the stove top so I really need that second timer.

I have several of these hen salt dips. But I would love to find one in this color.

Well, I have some busy decorating time ahead. I can't wait to get started.

EMERGENCY PRAYER REQUEST!

I have a very dear friend who is is only 29 and has cystic fibrosis. She is in intensive care. Her oxygen levels dropped to low so they gave her oxygen and now it has climbed too high. To much oxygen is just as dangerous for her and she could go into respiratory arrest.

She is a young mother with a beautiful 6 year old daughter. Please pray that they can get her oxygen levels back where they need to be.

Thank you all for your prayers. Feel free to put her on any prayer lists you may have.

Don't remove a dead bush....

As planting season and yard work begins, be sure you check your dead bushes before you yank them out. My daughter recently decided to redo some shrubbery and plant some new items around her home. When they got ready to take out a dead bush, she found this....

We weren't sure what kind of bird it was for sure. But the next day, two of the babies hatched.

And then the following day, the third one popped out of his shell. It wasn't long till Mama Bird was spotted and my daughter realized she had baby cardinals at the end of her front porch. She was able to stand on the porch and zoom in so she didn't have to disturb the birds.

They are in the bush right beside the steps so she passes them every time she comes and go. Mama usually sits on them while the family just passes in and out. Sometimes she flies off, but not very far. Daddy is always somewhere close by and flies in for his check, but so far she hasn't been able to get pics.

They went ahead and left the dead bush for now. But she did plant some new shrubbery down the edge of the driveway.

And along the front of her home.

She posted some pics on Facebook so I asked her if I could use all these in my blog today. I do like this one, but I am not sure what it is.

These are beautiful. I think she said it is a little azalea bush.

Her magnolia tree is blooming and it is gorgeous.

She saw Daddy Bird fly in and check on the babies. Diana sat very patiently and finally got a video of him flying away. She told me I could share it but I wasn't able to get it to work from Facebook. But he was beautiful.
