I never knew about these....

A friend of mine and I were discussing our mutual love of vintage items the other day. She was telling me she collect Vera Neumann Vintage Table Napkins. Well, I had never heard of those so she suggested I google them. And my oh my what beauties I found. Here were some of my favorites. She said the ones that are real vintage will have Vera's name on them. 

I love daisies so I really like these.  

These look almost like vintage hankies. 

My daughter needs to look for these. Her husband is a firefighter so this old firetruck would be perfect for her.

This one looks like you just stepped into a garden.

I would like a set of these and use them to have a tea party.  

I love, love, love the daffodils on the navy background.

These would go good with a table setting where I use my Town & Country Pyrex for serving bowls. 

But since my favorite flower ever has always been a daisy, I think this is the set it would thrill me the most to find. 

Several of our local antique stores have vintage linen areas, but I don't usually look at the linens because I was always just interested in tablecloths and the vintage ones never come in the length I need. But I will start looking at the linens now. I am a woman on a mission.

We have had our windy March weather this whole first week of April. It has rained and had high winds like crazy. But afterwards, we end up with some beautiful sky...even if the temperature has been cooler than I like it.

I always love to get a picture of the flag at Food City when the sky is beautiful.

When I got to work yesterday, one of the ladies there had bought me these beautiful yellow daisies to cheer up the room. Aren't they gorgeous. 

Have a happy Friday and a great weekend. Don't you just love my little kitty? She is my favorite ever .25 cent yard sale find. I have had her about 3 or 4 years.

If you need to soften butter quickly but don't want to melt it.... Put boiling hot water in a microwave safe glass to heat the glass. Dump the water out and flip it over your stick of butter. In a few minutes it will be softy soft to use!

And check out how somebody used a magazine storage box turned around to store potatoes and onions. That's pretty cool.

I knew Pyrex made some pitchers and carafes but I never new they did a pitcher in the butterfly gold pattern. My sister needs this to go with her entire butterfly gold collection.

I know it is early for Christmas but this caught my eye. I don't believe I would want it in my house but if you had a rustic cabin, this would be cute.

This Christmas tree made of books caught my eye as well. Not so much because it is cute, but because the book lover in me screamed out at the poor bent spines. I can only hope these books close well after they use them for the whole holiday.

I am going to buy some canning jars and paint them this year. I say that every year but never get around to it. I would also love to know if any of my flowery friends know what type of flowers these are. I am in love with them.

I am helping with a wedding shower in two weeks for a dear friend. It is blue and yellow. I think this is a very sweet arrangement. Simple but elegant. She has a country theme so I think this will go good.

And I am in love with yellow flowers and lemon's in the vase. Too cute.

Happy birthday to my sweetheart

Happy birthday to my sweetheart who is spending his first birthday in heaven. He has been my rock, my love, my best friend, my everything. I miss him every moment of the day. Yes, I still laugh. I still sing. I still do the things I enjoy doing. But in the back of my mind he is always with me and I can feel his presence so strong at times. I loved him with every beat of my heart and will do so until the day we see each other again. 

He wasn't perfect. He was just perfect for me. And that was all I ever needed. 

Happy birthday, baby. I love you.

I've been M.I.A.

I've been out of town since last Thursday on a trip to spend four glorious days with my Mom and the rest of my family in West Virginia. We had an awesome trip and I got to see a lot of my family. It was fabulous. But I am back. I just needed a break from blogging while I was gone. I got to spent time with both my brothers. It's been about two years since I saw them. 

My great niece Elizabeth made a smiley face with M & M's in her ice cream cone. 

My great niece Adriel loved her Aunt B's chocolate frosting. Of course, I didn't get her out of it till I got the pic. She is a sweetie pie.

Congrats to my nephew, Jake, for passing all his tests and he is now a Deputy with the Sheriff's Department.

Mom with a few of her great grandbabies. There were a couple more outside playing ball and still even more who weren't able to come.

We took a driving tour of the area since my daughter and her kids had not been in for 6 years and she wanted to show them some sites. The beautiful lake at the City Park.

They turned an old 1901 home into a visitor center. This is all original. It has never had to be restored since it has always been cared for and loved. I always wanted to go inside it. 

We got to take a tour of the whole place since it wasn't busy. My sister and I love the inset china hutch. Wouldn't it be beautiful filled with Pyrex. 

And then we sat on the lovely stair case and had a chat. The lady in charge took pictures of us all over the house. She was so sweet.

It was a wonderful visit and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I needed the break after everything that has happened this past year. I'm already missing them all and thinking about when I can get back up there again.
