My day so far....

Well, I had a good weekend. I'll post some pics of that later this week. But I went to the Blooming BBQ & Bluegrass Festival before I went to work Saturday. Sunday I was off so I went to dinner with the whole family for Caleb's birthday. I slept really good the last two nights and took a nap on Sunday afternoon so I am totally rejuvenated today.

In fact, I am so rested that by 9:30 this morning, I had already washed all my throw rugs and got them dry.

I did my weekly wipe down of bathroom and kitchen cabinets, stove and refrigerator doors with lemon Pine Sol.

I have made a sample of the three things we are going to do some prep work for tomorrow on my VBS workers craft prep day. Also this morning I pre-cut the paper for the 48 bookmarks and the 48 telescopes we are doing prep work for tomorrow.

I live right behind the store, so I ran out to get some much needed items, i.e. Junior Mints and a Twinkie.

I have already made almost 4 dozen gingerbread mini muffins today. All by 9:30.

Then I took a break and had some biscuits with peanut butter and a bowl of homemade apple butter with a big glass of chocolate milk for my breakfast around 10:00.

Today is the birthday of my oldest niece, Christy Dawn. She is my sister's first child and my mom's first grandchild. Here are a few of my favorite pics of her. As the Aunt, my job is totally embarrass her with old pictures on her birthday. This one was at a pond we went fishing at. She was the queen of Cheetos.

An Easter Egg hunt at Mamaw's.

Setting on the porch at Mamaw's holding the kitty. I think its name was Oreo but I can't remember.

One of her early school photos.

One of her last school photos during the curly hair stage.

The straight hair stage. Not sure which baby in the family she is holding. It may be her niece or one of the cousins babies.

I can't tell her age or she will get me. I can tell you she is no longer 41 and that it will be a year before she turns 43. But I can't tell you her age. :)

She was our first baby in 9 years in the family so she got a little spoiled. She is the one who gave me the nickname B because she couldn't say Brenda. I have been Aunt B for 40 some years. Happy birthday Christy Dawn. I hope you have a great day.

Wishful thinking...

I've been at it again. Scouring the internet and doing some wishful thinking on some things I would like to get. I am planning my beach trip for this year and a lot of my stuff is just plain worn out and outdated. Time to revamp. So here are some things I am loving. I like this purse really, really well.

This one caught my eye as well.

I would love to find this beach bag to carry my stuff down to the beach. Walmart has some in this style so they may have a whale one.

I need a new beach chair. The one I had the last few years had no arms and even though it is light weight and easy to carry I missed having arms. I love the ones that set right down low on the sand.

I want to find a cute summer light weight dress to wear one evening when we go someplace nice to eat.

These flip flops are adorable. If the color matched good, they would be cute with the above dress.

I also love this dress. I have some black strappy flat heeled sandals that would look great with this.

I want a pair of these Tommy Hilfiger flip flops with the red and navy. I love the nautical beach look.

I would love to have some flip flops like this for wearing shopping. I love the woven look.

And these would be perfect to wear down to the beach to avoid the hot sand.

Well, that's my wish list for the day.

Friday Foto Friends

I have beach fever this year. But due to a lot of things going on this summer, I'm not going until late summer. So to get my beach fix, here are some of my favorite photo from mine and Allen's trips in past years. This was our last trip to the beach before he passed away and it turned out to be one of the best trips of our life. Beautiful blue skies and lovely weather every day.

I love the foam washing up on the shore. I usually sit my chair near the water at one point while I read so it can splash up on me.

Our last trip was to Panama City Beach and it was beautiful to watch the sun drop into the ocean at the end of the day.

Our first selfie together. Little did we know it would be the last picture we took together.

I love palm trees and Florida sure has a fair share of them.

The best potato skins I ever had and they were at a Shoney's.

And it was one of the biggest Shoney's I've ever eaten in and had a menu twice the size of a normal Shoney's. Not to menu the HUGE all you can eat buffet.

We found an awesome antique store and Allen bought me these two Pyrex bowls that had been on my wish list for quite some time. And they were really cheap for Pyrex. $22 for both bowls.

The beautiful sunset.

We were there when the Harvest Moon was out in 2014. Check out the glow it cast across the ocean. The clouds blocked it a little in this picture, but it was gorgeous.

Not sure if this was the sun going down or the moon coming up, but it was beautiful.

I love getting my toes in sand and the water washing up. It's the first thing I do every year when I walk down on the beach the first day of my trip.

My friend Sherrie and I are going to Myrtle Beach this year for our second time. Can't wait to see feel the warm sea.

Feeling accomplished..

I had recently been given some milk crates to pack up yard sale stuff in. The gentleman that gave them to me did not want them back. I love stacking them to create storage. So here is what I did in my craft room a couple of days ago between the end of my bookshelf and the corner of the wall.

I just put a few things in there for now, but will go through my crafts later and organize it. But I will be keeping the three bottom ones for the kids to store stuff in like books, coloring books, and some toys. A friend made me a double fleece queen size blanket. So I folded it up and put it in the corner for the kids several months ago. They unroll the blanket like a sleeping bag. Shelby and Colby like to use it for being on the tablet or phone games. Shelby likes to play Little Pet Shop or read on it and Colby loves to play with his Army men and cars on it. That's why I want the bottom three shelves for their stuff. Alexis loves it because when Shelby and Colby use it, she gets to decide what to watch in the living room without them. They crack me up.

While I was feeling energetic, I decided to see if I could hang my new plant. Well, I don't have drill and I was worried a nail wouldn't hold it. Plus it is really thick board that I wanted to put it on. But as I stood there contemplating my dilemma, I noticed a wood boring bee had a whole dead center of the board....right where I wanted to hang my plant. So I screwed in my S hook and got it good and tight and now it is hanging there.

When I went back into my craft room, I didn't really like the milk carton back showing.

So I slipped a piece of scrapbook paper behind it. I like that a lot better. But that was the only paper I have and I didn't really like it for this purpose.

It is two sided paper so I turned it over to try the lighter side. I do like lighter better, but this is just way too busy of a pattern.

I'm going to the Scrapbook Store in Sevierville Saturday and I'll find some different. May just Swiss dots or these little hearts, because I just don't want plain colored paper.

Unless I can find this. They do carry it in a variety of colors and I do like the lace look. I will keep you updated.

Have a great Thursday.
