Still looking.....

If you will recall, I have been working on my bedroom and changing to a more country-primitive style. I was "testing" a quilt a friend was letting me use.

As much as I like it, it is still not what I want so I have kept looking. The last four or five quilted bedspreads I had were similar pattern to this and I am wanting something different. Plus some of the colors in this were like my last quilt and I do not like the white background in some of the pieces. I want something different and something with more cream or tan instead of the whites. I toyed with the idea of this one, but I am afraid I would tire of the crows and sheep. Not sure though because I really like this.

However, since I am loving the deep tans in primitive stuff and I am a patchwork kinda gal, I really like this one as well. Problem is I'm not sure about just blues and tans and browns in my bedroom.

So I guess it is back to square one. I really, really still love this one if I could find it at a good price. I have seen it everywhere from $179 to $229. But this morning I found a site that has it for $89.99. But when the above ones are just $49.99, I am still torn. But I do love this so much.

Friday Foto Friends Fall Displays

Today I am showcasing some of my fall decor only I have incorporated my Halloween into it as well since I have a busy month this month. I didn't want to miss out on enjoying it. Especially my Hocus Pocus pillows. I got those at Target for just $3.00 each last year. That is my favorite Halloween movie.

I put my fall fleece blanket on the back of the chair. My Mom cut out every stitch of fabric and hand sewed it on the blanket. I love it.

Hubby bought me this witch about 10 - 12 years ago and I hang her up every Halloween. She's another of my favorites.

My fall table runner. This is one of those no-sew runners I make that are super simple and fun. Click here for a tutorial.

One of the pieces that I really like is my ghost. I just adore him for some reason.

So I am happy with the living room area.

This is the entry table by my door.

Mom made me this crow apron many years ago and I put it out every fall. Not to mention I use it year round.

I love the way I did the kitchen table this year. I have used this tablecloth for about 10 years. It never gets worn out. It is a fabric that is like a giant afghan. I can't wait for fall every year to put it on the table.

The kitchen bar.

The kitchen table.

Love the little fox my daughter gave me.

Of course, I had to rearrange the Pyrex to use my fall colors more prominently. This is one shelf on my bakers rack.

But this is the main shelf of the bakers rack. I didn't realize I had so much fall and I am totally in love with this area. I could just stand and admire my Pyrex all day. LOL.

Here's the whole area.

On a side note, here's a little cup I got the other day at my Thirty-One meeting. Which is appropriate because I always feel like I'm working on the next phase of my life.

I ran out this morning to an estate sale. Turned out it had been an elderly farmer that had passed and the wife was selling clothes, tools, guns, etc. But she also got rid of a few of her things.

When I saw how shiny, odorless and clean this Tupperware microwave steamer was, I considered getting it because I love steamed hotdogs. But when she told me it was perfect to make meatloaf in a microwave I was sold!

Time to jump over and join Ms. Debbie at www.jeremiah29-11.com to see what is being shared on Friday Foto Friends. Come join us!

She's ready.....

My daughter has been decorating since a week or so before the official start of fall. It's one of her favorite seasons. One of the main things she loves is the it is boot season. She's been aggravated at Mother Nature lately because she is not cooperating. We have had some warm days and Diana hasn't brought the boots out yet....until yesterday. She decide it is cool in the mornings and it is cool in the office so she kicked up her heels and kicked into boot season.

Let's take a walk through her yard and home to see some of her fall decor.

Now for a peek at the inside....

Don't you just want to crawl up on the couch with something pumpkin spice flavored and just watch the flames?

Happy Fall Y'all from my daughter's house to yours!

Some outside fun

Today's visit with my sister Rachel will take us on a tour of her outside decor. We both love to decorate...inside and out. We get that from our Mom. She was forever crafting and sewing and creating different design scapes for the house....inside and out. If she had a thought about something in wood, she would draw it and Daddy would be able to make it. I never really thought about it until I was asked about creative talent in the family. I guess Mom and Dad were both very created. Me and Rachel inherited our home decorating thoughts from Mom and my brother's got Daddy's talents for making things with wood.

Today we will feature Rachel's outdoor areas. She has a big front porch across the front of the house. Then there is a walkway that goes by the side of the house with a small sitting area that leads around back to her back deck. So sit back and enjoy some of her unique ways of welcoming fall to her home.
