Flowers
I have made several items with flowers from Dollar Tree lately. I think this is my favorite one. I love pinks and yellows together. The vase is a 1940's Westmoreland Hobnail milk glass flower basket I have had for years. I was very happy with the result.
As I was admiring it when I was done, I realized something. I love fixing flower vases. My love of flowers goes back for years and years. I have floral teapots, floral furniture, floral in my bedrooms and floral just about everywhere. So I started taking pictures of some of my floral arrangements. My love of flowers is evident all over the house. I have flowers in coffee cups.
I put them in my vintage McCoy pitcher.
I even found a unique vintage jar and placed some daisy in it. The jar was just $1.00.
You might recall I recently painted a salt and pepper shaker, added jute and stuck a few flowers in it.
This is some fabric flowers in another vintage milk glass vase that I did about 6 or 7 years ago.
And yet another set of pink and white in my bedroom.
I got to thinking and I wonder if I could turn this into a small home based business. Just make arrangements using vases, painted jars, burlap wrapped jars, just a multitude of ideas. I could do them for gift giving, centerpieces, get well vases, etc. The sky would be the limit. My investment wouldn't be much because most of my vases and cups would come from Dollar Tree or thrift stores. Since I click my flowers off the bunch when I get them, I save any left overs for mix and match bouquets. I mentioned to a couple of friends my thought. One has boxes of flowers in her basement she never uses any more and one has a couple of boxes of odd and end vases and jars. It would be a good start. Just don't know if I'm brave enough to try it. I did think of a name though.
The Floral Bee (since my nickname from the time I had my first niece was B). I even figured I can use this picture of one of my arrangements incorporated as my logo. We will see if I get brave enough.

Random Wednesday
Yesterday, 63° and flip flops all day. Beautiful sunshine and blue skies.
By evening the skies were no longer blue and they were calling for snow over night.
Woke up this morning and my thermometer said 27° and we had snow. I didn't get much, but they must have in Gatlinburg and outer areas because school got closed.
My daughter posted this picture of the trees at her house. I may prefer pretty days and flip flop weather, but you gotta admit this is beautiful.
However, while it was spring weather yesterday I did get my bunny wreath made. I don't normally make wreaths, but I am happy with how this turned out.
Have a great day....no matter what your weather is!

Top 10 Tuesday
I love going to Pinterest and just browsing down to see the things it recommends that it thinks I will like. Here were my favorite 10 things I found that I liked on their recommendations this morning.
1. Lemon cake
1. Lemon cake
2. An adorable country wreath.
3. Easter nails. Really love this.
4. A patriotic design for my three tier shelf.
5. The entire Colonial Mist Pyrex bowls. I have this set except for the largest 404 bowl. It's my dream find. The 404 bowls are so rare to find. It would really be gorgeous with my other three.
6. I still don't know how to crochet, but if I did I would definitely makes something with this pattern. It is so lovely.
7. Another beautiful set of nails. There is nothing fancy about these. Just different polishes. I could do this myself.
8. Another suggestion for a three tier stand. This would be beautiful for August & September.
9. I loved this Pyrex bowl they suggested for me. I have never seen this pattern. I need to do some research on it.
10. Last but not least this unique crochets afghan project. How adorable.I love the blue, lavender and mint green together. I may have to make something in plastic canvas out of these colors.
That's my Top 10 Pinterest items for Tuesday. Have a great day.

Weekend wrap up...
It's been a great weekend. I had off Friday and Saturday for the past work week and Sunday for the start of this work week. Love when my days off give me a 3 day weekend. It was beautiful weather and I got to do some retail therapy. I am loving the new Pyrex storage containers I picked up on sale at the local Corningware Outlet. And did I mention that I had a 25% off coupon and I got to use it on sale and clearance items.
The first bowl was the 60th anniversary of the Cornflower blue pattern.
They also had the new Easter bowl released. Love the kissing bunnies.
And I picked up the new spring pattern. Love the pink and yellow.
They all are gorgeous and I'm so glad I stopped in the store the other day.
In the clearance section, I got a couple of smaller size containers from Pyrex that were on clearance for $1.50 each.
The cornflower blue bowl looks great with my colonial mist Pyrex set.
I also did a run to Dollar Tree where I picked up the stuff to make a bunny wreath. Hope to get that done soon and I will share it with you.
I went in Bon Worth and found a very springy tunic top to wear with my capri leggings this year. I love all the bright colors. It was $28 with 60% reduction on the tag. The whole store was 25% off items, even clearance. So I got this $28.00 top for $8.44. SCORE!
Last week I had been to Dollar Tree and gotten a vase, flowers and eggs.
I finally got around to making my Easter arrangement. I can take the eggs out after Easter and still have a spring arrangement. I also found these cute chick salt and pepper shakers at Dollar Tree and I got the place mat at A.C.Moore for a dollar. I just love it.
That's it for my three day weekend. How was your weekend?
Sunday Songs
These guys are awesome. The group's name is Anthem Lights. I read where the vocalist, Kyle Kupecky, commented about the meaning behind the name of the group. He said,
"These songs and this record is our anthem to the world saying, "Listen, we know there's a lot of darkness in this life, but in the end, light is gonna win."
I hope their music blesses you on this lovely Sunday.

Happy birthday Garret
Nineteen. Where have the years gone. My first grandbaby turns 19 years old today. I find that so hard to believe. I can turn back the clock in my mind and remember the exact moment I held him for the very first time. Time stood still. My heart just melted. I was mesmerized by this beautiful little creature.
His beautiful eyes and contagious smile have continued to make my heart melt.
I remember the time him and my mom were at my house and she was letting him help make homemade biscuits. That was a wonderful day.
He was not one of those children that wouldn't smile for the camera. He always had a smile ready for me when I went to snap. Of course as he has gotten older, he's not so fond of getting a picture taken as he was in his younger days.
It wasn't long before he started shooting up in height and losing that little boy look.
He is definitely an outdoorsy child. He loves to hunt and fish and just be outside.
As a matter of fact, when I took this picture years ago, I titled it "Wishin' I was Fishin'." I'm pretty sure that is what he was thinking.
But they grow up way too fast and he has turned into a fine young man who is in college now and I don't get to see him like I wish I could. I miss those days of him coming over and us playing zoo together in the toy room. I miss the memories of going to the Deer Farm and the Zoo and Rainforest Adventure. I miss the days of miniature golf and going to the movies. I miss the game nights when Papaw would be working and me and Garret would play games all night and eat pizza and wings.
Happy birthday, Garret. I hope you have a great day!
