Happy Sunday

There's a reason why....

Last fall, I fell in love with a red shelf and bought it. My plan was to use it in my office/craft room and redo the decor with a vintage theme. Here it is April and I am still struggling with finding vintage items for it. I think I found about 2 or 3 vintage items and that was it. 

Fast forward to Thursday evening when I saw some neat beach decor and started wishing I had another room I could use beach decor in because my beachy bathroom is full of what decor it will hold. And I have some beach stuff in my storage containers that I used to decorate my office/craft room with. But I felt guilty going back to a beach theme when I had this beautiful red shelf.

Then inspiration struck! My kitchen is a country kitchen with vintage Pyrex and I have red in my kitchen. So I thought, why not? And next thing you know there I was at 9:30 at night moving around some stuff and putting the red shelf in the kitchen and going through my "stuff" and finding things to rearrange so I could use the red shelf in the kitchen. By 10:15 I had this created in the kitchen.

In finding stuff for the red shelf, I realized that I still had Easter stuff in my three tier stand so I then set to work to "shop" my house to complete a spring theme for the tier stand. Very happy with the result since this sets on a cabinet in my kitchen.

Well, this evening I went looking for a few beach ideas of things I can now use to decorate the craft/office with a beach theme. I am going to Dollar Tree to get one of these, some blue pencils and a star fish. This is cute. 

I have a friend that can make me this sign and I can find stuff at Hobby Lobby for the rest of these items if I decide to use this idea for the new room. 

I have awesome beach pictures I have taken over the years and some frames I could do this with. 

And to think, all of this started because I saw this one sign on Pinterest.

Now I'm going to have to get that sign.

Friday Foto Friends

We had an amazing day at the Knoxville Zoo. The flowers were blooming and it was a nice day. 

It's been fun....

It's been a fun few days with the younger Grands.

I have some good pictures from the zoo, but I am saving those for tomorrow's Friday Foto Friends with Ms. Debbie.

Last night I went to the store and found these little Sundae's from Friendly's restaurant. I ate at one years ago and wanted to try these.

The chocolate was really thick so I let it thaw 5 minutes before trying it.

The ice cream and whipped cream were really good, but the chocolate flavoring wasn't the best in the world. But I was able to eat it obviously because it was ice cream and chocolate. My heart wouldn't let it go to waste.

When we came home the other night, I found this on my porch in a box. 

I was thrilled to see they carry old fashioned fountain pens. Until I saw the price to get them was outrageous.

But they did have 11 pages of other types of pens. It was like looking at a wish book at Christmas. I love office supplies. 

I got our new lesson book for children's church. I am super excited about this book. It has lessons, activities, crafts, etc. It is full of fun ideas that teach the bible. Can't wait to kick it off this week.

Random Wednesday

I took some of the left over flowers from other arrangements and put them in my new pitcher. Added some pineapple touches I already had (yes, one says welcome sweet summer but I'm using it because it matches).

I love how memories pop up in Facebook. This popped up today that one of my cousins sent me years ago. This is my Grandma and Grandpa's graves. One of my aunts had put the flowers on. I haven't been there to visit for about 20 years because none of the family lives there any more. But it is wonderful to have this photo. They were dearly loved. 

This popped up from a few years back when I had been baking and made my famous homemade chocolate cake and some cinnamon mini muffins.

I found this on Pinterest yesterday. I just love it.

Feeling beachy today

The beach is in my blood and I'm already looking forward to my annual summer beach trip.

I would love to find a sign like this.

What a cute saying. 

I can't think beach without thinking flip flops.

This is going to be my beach "To Do" list this year.

What beautiful bracelets, but I couldn't wear anything this overwhelming. Just one layer with the blue beads, starfish, sand dollar and flip flop would work for me. 

Read these books once before and they are so good I may read at the beach again this year.

I am loving this dish towel.

Weekend wrap up

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter weekend. Our weather was gorgeous up in the day, even though the morning had a little nip in the air. I went to Sunrise Service. We are on top a hill and seeing the sun peak up through the trees is breathtaking.

Saturday, a friend left this on my desk. Chocolate. Mint. What's not to love!

Another friend knows I am making flower arrangements and she gave me these beautiful tulips. They are so dainty. 

My daughter discovered a new home goods store in Knoxville and bought me this gorgeous pitcher. I am loving it.

When I got to church a friend gave me an Easter egg and it had this gorgeous bracelet in it.

I did work about 6 hours last night, but that gave me time to have my Easter dinner. Plus I took deviled eggs and brownie cookies to work with me so that is always a big hit when you take food to work. Picking up the three youngest grandchildren this evening and keeping them for the next two days. It's hard to tell what all we will do, but it is guaranteed to be fun.
