Crazy

This little sign is so true. I think that Tennessee is the only place you can be "crazy" and everybody things you are normal.

In 2015, Hubby shared this on my Facebook wall. At the time, I just thought "That's funny." It popped up on my memories today and now I am wondering if he was trying to tell me something and I just didn't get it. LOL.

Have a great Friday!

Pass the candy please....

I just love vintage candy dishes. The beautiful designs. The cut glass, the etched glass. I use some for candy but some just to set around. My favorite two are on my coffee table. I bought this one for the unique diamond shape.

And this one because I love the gold trim on it. It just looks so regal.

Some of my favorite vintage glass is made by Indiana Glass from the 40's and 50's. So I decided to see what candy dishes they made. I didn't realize the my two favorites I own were Indiana Glass. Both of the ones above popped up in my search. Happy dance. Then I found a lot more that I liked. This one I liked really well in this blue.

Then I saw it in green. Be still my heart. I love this.

I seen a lot of pieces in my antique trips that have the ruby band, but never this tall skinny one. I am going to have to look for this.

This one is called Honeycomb. This color is just absolutely beautiful. It reminds me of sea glass.

Then I found that they made it in blue, amber, clear, green and this gorgeous purple. Ms. Debbie at Breathing in Grace would love the purple one I am sure.

I've seen this one before in some local shops. It is usually out of the budget of what I am willing to pay.

I have known about and dreamed about this one for years and years. It is carnival glass and the pattern is called King's Crown. I just can't find it at the right price and I refuse to pay a King's ransom for a candy dish. But my search continues. It is an iridescent blue and green and if you hold it to the light a certain way a little amber and purple show through. I have seen them. I have picked them up and touched them. But oh, the prices people put on them are just outrageous. I do have

One day I did find a shorter one in the ruby piece. I did buy it and love it, but I really want one like the one above. Here is the little one I have.

There is a big yard sale this Saturday at the Smokie's Baseball Stadium. I am going to it in hopes I finding something from the Indiana Glass family. I will keep you posted.

Happy birthday, Caleb

I want to wish my grandson, Caleb, a very happy 15th birthday.

Him and that curly hair. He was about 2 or 3 before they cut it the first time. It was hard to see his beautiful curls go.

A boy and his first dog. Spike is with him still and still attached to Caleb.

He went through the little biker dude stage when his daddy got a motorcycle.

I remember the day he got to said in the big Peterbilt with the dump trailer that his dad hauled scrap metal in. He really thought he was something.

About 4 or 5 years ago, one of his dad's cousins gave him a $100 for his birthday. He was heading to Bass Pro for a new fishing rod and reel. When he saw the Shriner's out front, he remembered a little girl from church that was burned when she was a couple of years old and new the story of the Shriner's help her be able to go to their hospital and get healed. So without a second thought he told his dad he could get a fishing rod anytime. He wanted to donate his birthday money to the Shriner's instead. When they heard about the story as to what he did, they honored him with a plaque for this thoughtfulness and caring. We were so proud of him.

He has always had a smile that just stops my heart.

Turning 15, he has perfected the "I don't smile in picturess" look that all teenage boys go through. But he is still a handsome young man and I'm proud of him.

Getting ready....

Our photo shoots for the church directory is finished. I got my yard sale done and out of the way. My crafts I ordered for VBS are in except for some foam sheets and dowel rods I'm waiting on. Now it is time to get down to business on my VBS decorating and planning our end of school party for Children's church the Sunday before VBS. Our VBS theme is Game On.

I like the idea of something like this for my bulletin board. It's not this big, but this would be cute on any size.

This is a cute idea only I am going to make my pendant with "Game On" and our VBS bible verse.

Found some sports eggs at Easter but couldn't decide how to display them. I may just do them like this and set them on my little desk in my classroom.

Another cute idea for decoration.

I'm also looking for some ideas for our Memorial day, end of school bash for Children's Church so I am going to do this for the silverware for the food area.

Looking for ideas for games and I have a few but need to find a couple more.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful Mother. Words can never express what a great Mom she is. I am so blessed to still have her with us. She will be 88 in June. Happy Mother's Day, Mommy. I love you.

Weekend Wrap Day

It's been a busy few days. VBS is just around the corner. I spent some time trying to decide on my decorations for my classroom. A friend of mine surprised me with a set of blue birds the other day at work. I just fell in love with them. I put them on my new corner shelf that I got from my daughter when we had our yard sale.

Turns out our local Vera Bradley Outlet was having a great sale this weekend. Everything was 50% off and if you got a discontinued pattern it was an additional 20% off. I found me a wallet I loved in the African Violet pattern.

I also got this new little change purse with sea turtles. I love it.

My Facebook memories popped up with this yarn wreath using left over balls of yarn.

It also reminded me of this little flower display I mean to make and never did.

Guess I need to collect some of my yarn to get busy.

A couple of hours free....

What a crazy week. Worked. Got things gathered for a yard sale. Had a two day yard sale and it is back to work later today. But this morning, I have some free time. So I think I will reward myself with some retail shopping. The Vera Bradley outlet is having a 1/2 off sale. I was just checking out the website for the fun of it and saw this pattern. I am totally in love with it. I am going to run by the outlet store this morning to check out a possible Mother's Day gift for myself.

I love the bag and I love the wallet. At least online I love them.

It also comes in a wristlet and I might like that better than the wallet. I'll just have to see.

On a side note, a friend of mine painted some wine bottles and is now decorated for Memorial Day. I just love this.

I got me a glitzy new Paparazzi wrap bracelet. I don't know where I am going to wear it, but I do know I love all the bling.

I went to a live FB Paparazzi party last night and they were doing drawings for a giveaway. I won a free piece of jewelry. Can't wait to get it tomorrow to see what it looks like.

Have a great weekend!
