A new place and an old favorite....

I am looking forward to Saturday. My friend and I are going to check out a huge store in Knoxville that we haven't been to. It is call the Mega Peddler's Mart. It is in an old Kmart store and has tons and tons of individual booths. It has antique booths, crafters booths and flea market style booths. I can't wait to see what they have.

Then we are going to our favorite antique store Dutch Valley Antique Mall...the largest antique store in East Tennessee.

They have so many booths and each one is crammed full. You have to take all day just to look at everything. We are both so excited. We can't wait to go.

Thank you for the beautiful grandchildren you have blessed me with.

Happy anniversary. I love you both.

Top 10 Tuesday

1. My little Dollar Tree inspirational sign for my cubicle at work.

2. One of my favorite pics of hubby. Only time in my life when I saw him in a tux. But when he gave our daughter away in marriage he had no choice but to wear the tux. Just wish I wasn't making such a weird face.

2. This popped up on FB memories. My precious twins and oldest niece Christy. My babies were always so happy (and mischievous).

4. Tried some cute sandals on that were a good price, but just wasn't 100% sure it's what I want. They are just at Walmart so if I change my mind, I can go to any Walmart and find them.

5. I tried these on as well. Oh my goodness. They are like walking on air. I debating it. I love flip flops and sandals, but I love cheap prices as well. These were a little more than I normally pay for sandals, but they were super comfy.

6. I've been craving a great hot dog. So yesterday, I went to Jefferson City (about 20 minutes away) to go to an antique store there. Took advantage of it and had me a Pal's hotdog. Oh wow. My craving was so satisfied. These are delicious.

7. I was so excited to find the blue hen salt dip for just $3.00 on Sunday that it got me back in the mood that made me go to Jefferson City yesterday.

8. So glad I went. I have been looking for the flamingo pink Pyrex cake pan. I found it for just $8.00. Now I want another one in a different color so I can make a two layer cake in them.

9. I love Fenton hobmail milk glass. I had forgotten how beautiful their stuff is in colored glass. Found this yesterday for just $3.00. I was thrilled. It is authentic Fenton (had the tag on it) and is from the mid 1950's. They only made it for two years so I bet they aren't that plentiful. I consider this a really good find.

10. I found a different style salt dip (salt cellar) than I usually buy. This one is made by Anchor Hocking and the pattern is called Miss America pattern. They made this piece only in 1935-1937. You don't see them very much in colored pieces, mostly in the clear. But I do love it.

As you can see, I had a great day yesterday. I don't know what is more fun. Finding a piece of vintage glassware I love or coming home and researching the history of it.

Weekend wrap up

We had our final night program for VBS on Friday and Shelby wanted to finish out the week with one last night at my house. I was in my craft room and Shelby walked in and said she found her spongy curlers and rolled her hair all by herself. Not too bad of a job for a 9 year old who never has rolled her own hair.

Saturday before work, I went to the eye doctor. Picked out some new frames. I like the simple look of these with just a little decorative on the side.

I found some frames for my reading glasses that I just adore. They are rose gold and I love rose gold. I can't wait to get them. I have eye insurance and was able with my discount for buying 2 pairs, I was able to get one pair with lineless tri-focals, biocarbonate lenses that won't chip or break, scratch resistant, UV guard and one pair with reading lenses that are scratch resistant. My total for the exam, eye x-ray and glasses was $480.00. Thanks to insurance and a discount I got everything, including the exam for $130. I call that a deal considering my eye insurance is cheap.

I was so happy that I celebrated with an ice cream sundae at Shoney's before I went to work.

Got a little of the syrup on my hand so it was sticky. I went to the restroom to wash my hands. They just reopened from a massive remodel a couple of months ago. I hadn't been in the new restroom. When I walked in, I found someone had left the changing table flipped down. Check out how close it is to the sink.

Not sure how you are supposed to wash your hands in a two stall restroom, if one of the women is in front of the sink changing a diaper.

Going to go do some antiquing this morning. Not on a mission for anything particular but do have some items it would make me happy to find. Such as anything in pink milk glass.

Or possibly a tall skinny rooster in glass.

I like these whimsical clocks so may keep my eyes open for one of these.

I am forever and always on the lookout for a vintage rotary phone.

I want to try to collect all the 401 vintage Pyrex bowls. I have only two of the patterns below.

Also would love to find a pink daisy item from the vintage Pyrex line.

But it would really make my day to find any size of the pink bowls.

That's it for today. Have a great Monday.

Happy birthday to my Mother

I want to wish my beautiful mother a happy 88 birthday today. She has been my inspiration, my rock and my best friend my whole life. I am so thankful to still have her with us at this age. I have always been able to pick up the phone and call her to talk to her about anything. I love you Mommy and hope you have an amazing birthday.
