What a way to end a day....

I wanted to show you the vintage kissing Santa & his Mrs. that a friend of mine found at a yard sale. I have wanted these forever. Thanks to my friend Georegeanna I now have a pair.

I had a nice surprise last night. My daughter called when I got home from work and invited me over for supper. They had made meatloaf, fried potatoes, okra, and deviled eggs. It was out of this world...well, except the okra. I don't do okra. After dinner was over, my son-in-law built a fire in their fire pit.

I agreed to stay a little while longer and see the fire. Stayed so long that it got dark. My grandson went in and got the speaker for his phone and played DJ for us as we requested our favorite music. Loved listening to Chris Stapleton and Jamie Johnson while the fire burned. It was a great night.

But alas, all good things come to an end and now it is morning. On a work day. Ugh.

Have a blessed day!

Weekend Wrap Up

I went to an antique store and to the new Mega Peddler's Mart on Saturday and found another little King's Crown Thumbprint dish. It is still not the carnival glass green/blue that I'm looking for. But I was thrilled just the same because I want to collect a few different colors. It was $15 marked down to $5 which is a good deal at an antique store.

I also this cute tin. I love tins and have a few cute ones around the house. This one is going in my bedroom because that is where all my dolls I collected are.

In addition to those two thing I got a tin for my beach room, a new salt dip and a 1 quart vintage Pyrex casserole dish. It needs to be soaked and cleaned up and then it is going to become my baked bean dish. All the items below totaled $13.00.

Then a stop at Walmart found me a cute bucket, a gray basket and a pineapple mouse pad for my beach room.

I have been needing a new mouse pad but couldn't find what I wanted. So I was thrilled when I found this one.

But the award for deal of the day goes to this little computer desk from the Mega Peddlers mart. I have been looking for a small desk for my home office and wanted just something little with a pull out keyboard tray. My eyes spied this in the first aisle I went down. The price? Just $12.00. Happy dance. So it came home with me without a second thought. Now to rearrange my home office to decide where I want it.

Have a great Monday.

A new place and an old favorite....

I am looking forward to Saturday. My friend and I are going to check out a huge store in Knoxville that we haven't been to. It is call the Mega Peddler's Mart. It is in an old Kmart store and has tons and tons of individual booths. It has antique booths, crafters booths and flea market style booths. I can't wait to see what they have.

Then we are going to our favorite antique store Dutch Valley Antique Mall...the largest antique store in East Tennessee.

They have so many booths and each one is crammed full. You have to take all day just to look at everything. We are both so excited. We can't wait to go.

Top 10 Tuesday

1. My little Dollar Tree inspirational sign for my cubicle at work.

2. One of my favorite pics of hubby. Only time in my life when I saw him in a tux. But when he gave our daughter away in marriage he had no choice but to wear the tux. Just wish I wasn't making such a weird face.

2. This popped up on FB memories. My precious twins and oldest niece Christy. My babies were always so happy (and mischievous).

4. Tried some cute sandals on that were a good price, but just wasn't 100% sure it's what I want. They are just at Walmart so if I change my mind, I can go to any Walmart and find them.

5. I tried these on as well. Oh my goodness. They are like walking on air. I debating it. I love flip flops and sandals, but I love cheap prices as well. These were a little more than I normally pay for sandals, but they were super comfy.

6. I've been craving a great hot dog. So yesterday, I went to Jefferson City (about 20 minutes away) to go to an antique store there. Took advantage of it and had me a Pal's hotdog. Oh wow. My craving was so satisfied. These are delicious.

7. I was so excited to find the blue hen salt dip for just $3.00 on Sunday that it got me back in the mood that made me go to Jefferson City yesterday.

8. So glad I went. I have been looking for the flamingo pink Pyrex cake pan. I found it for just $8.00. Now I want another one in a different color so I can make a two layer cake in them.

9. I love Fenton hobmail milk glass. I had forgotten how beautiful their stuff is in colored glass. Found this yesterday for just $3.00. I was thrilled. It is authentic Fenton (had the tag on it) and is from the mid 1950's. They only made it for two years so I bet they aren't that plentiful. I consider this a really good find.

10. I found a different style salt dip (salt cellar) than I usually buy. This one is made by Anchor Hocking and the pattern is called Miss America pattern. They made this piece only in 1935-1937. You don't see them very much in colored pieces, mostly in the clear. But I do love it.

As you can see, I had a great day yesterday. I don't know what is more fun. Finding a piece of vintage glassware I love or coming home and researching the history of it.
