Random Wednesday

Just some random things to share with you today. I may have posted some before but I am sharing them again. It's that time of year when I do a little Halloween party for our servers at work. They have all become such good friends of mine and I like to show my appreciate for all their help in helping me with my job in the arena. I needed some new ideas so I like this one for little deviled eggs.

Pinterest called this zombie eyes and toes. Works for me.

I am researching couch covers. My fabric is starting to get a lot of wear but the furniture is still so comfortable. I love this but they also had it in a gray and gray or darker tan is what I want.

Don't you just love these little wooden trees.

I received a Lakeside Collection catalog and they had a lot of great items in it.

I bought a striped comforter for the kids day bed really cheap just to do till I can get what I want and this is what I want. I love it.

Going to stop Friday or Saturday at the Corningware store and pick up some Christmas storage bowls. What a great gift....fill it with fudge and they have goodies AND a keepsake for their gift.

Y'all know I love my Happy Planner and can't wait to get a new one this year. I got a vinyl whimsical cover last year, but you can buy quilted leather covers as well. One of my Happy Planner group people showed where she found a purse to co-ordinate with her faux leather journal. Now this is a VERY expensive purse but maybe I could find a knock-off at a reasonable price and get the faux leather journal. I am so in love with this.

I still haven't ordered me one of these little trees. But I think my niece said Hobby Lobby has some now. I need to go check to see if that is where she saw them.

Check out this purse set in Buffalo plaid. I am loving it. Since we wear red and black at Christmas and winter at work, I need this as my work bag.

I am going to do this. I will either stencil cans or have my friend use her cricut to make me the letters. I have a nursery that usually lets me have some of the little pieces of branches they cut off trees and I can trim them to do this.

Well, that's it for today. Hope you enjoyed the ideas.

Halloween Humor

I love Halloween Humor. Some are new, some I posted in years past. But all are still funny.

And my all time personal favorite!

Some ideas....

A few years back I made some witches wands for this little display. They've suffered wear and tear. If I want to put them out this year, I need to get some scrapbook paper to make some more.

Here is a Christmas ornament I made one time for the little tree in what was my craft room. I want to make some more of these as gifts for my friends who love yarn as much as I do.

This little bird was so easy and so much fun. I want to make some more of them as well. I might even do them with blue wings the color of the ocean to have them on the Christmas tree in the beach bedroom.

I saw one of these on Pinterest at 9:30 one night last year. I loved it so I jumped up and grabbed my button jar and my hot glue gun and made this. I have a gazillion buttons so I may make some more.

I think I will even do some in solid colors like the ones below. Especially the all shades of red one and the all shades of green.
I made these one time with a regular stick, but love the idea of doing them with cinnamon sticks on a little tree in the kitchen. It would smell so good.

I really like this display of little trees.

Another simple craft for some cute little ornaments.

Kids would love making these little snow globe scenes.

Oh how precious...and super easy.

I love these little Christmas gnomes.

And before you can say "It's not even Christmas yet", let me remind you that I actually decorate right after Thanksgiving so if I want to get all this done, I have to start now. As a matter of fact, I'm heading to Hobby Lobby this afternoon to pick up some of the stuff to start on some of these. What are you making for Christmas this year?

Finally!

For over a year you have all been so patient and tolerant of my continuous posts of "I'm making a change on my craft/office room" or "Working on finishing/organizing my craft/office room." I got this shelf last September and was making it into a vintage craft room.

But then I decided I wasn't really a vintage craft room person, just vintage kitchen person. So the shelf got moved into the kitchen and the red basket sold. So next it was going to be a beach theme but I could never quite pull it off. Then recently I realized that I don't craft a lot so I don't need as much stuff as I used to so I sold off a bunch and gave some away. Then I reorganized what was left and put them in bins or baskets and inside shoe bags on the bag of the door. But I still wasn't happy. Since the grandbabies are getting too long to sleep on the couches and since I never use my craft table since I started crafting on the kitchen table, I realized something. The reason I have a hard time with redoing the office/craft room is because I don't USE and office craft room. But I do NEED and would USE a spare bedroom. Well, guess what? Here I am two days later with a new trundle bed and a beach bedroom which I have always wanted. It is still lacking a few things but here is the finished product. Some of my favorite beach memories. You will see a pop of pink in the pic because it is a bucket full of pens and pencils that has a pink flamingo on it.

Yes, I had to keep my little desk area because I do spent a lot of time on my computer. Check out the pictures of my grandsons. I "borrowed" them from my bedroom until I can get the girls to send me family beach pics of each set of grandkids to hang in the beach room. And just another touch of pink because this vase and these flowers has a special meaning to me so they always set on my desk.

And here is the big premier of the day bed with the pull out trundle mattress. I couldn't be happier with it. I need some more throw pillows and I have an amazing picture of the sun rise at the ocean that I am going to have made into a canvas for over the bed.

One of my happiest beach memories was that every trip hubby would fly his kite. We spent many hours on the beach and have many stories about his kite. So my old raggedy bear (who is not that old) sports a kite sweater for the beach room. The kids like to take turns sleeping with him. His name is Ted E. Bear.

And here is how is has ended up. I still need a beach type small throw to put on the quilt rack and a couple of other small decor items. But it is getting there.

I couldn't be happier. I hope the grandkids like it. I have to pick up a small TV next week for it, but I am loving this room. After all, the beach is my happy place so since I can't go to the beach, I will bring the feel of the beach to me.
