When it touches your heart....

These past few weeks have been rough and it seems like every time I turn around the enemy is just around the corner. There hasn't been anything major, just those multitude of "little" things that combine together that make you want to just scream in frustration.

Then I stopped and took stock of my life and all the blessings God has bestowed. I realized that my faith that has always been such a key component of my life was a little out of whack. I had faith for others and I pray daily for their concerns, not doubting that God would provide for their concerns. And though I still had faith that He would answer my prayers as well, I was having trouble leaving Him in peace to do the job. I've been trying to "help".  So I had to step back and have faith for things in my own life.

During my struggles, a dear friend posted a blog about faith and prayers and it really helped me get my focus back where it needed to be. It reminded me that our greatest victories sometimes come from our hardest battles. That all our worst trials and tribulations bring us to our greatest blessings.

Then, for the icing on the cake, I was driving to town by myself and decided to put on my favorite CD by a dear teen at church. It came on at the beginning of one of my favorite songs. I love that song so I had to go to You Tube to see if I could find one with the lyrics for my post today. The chorus is so beautiful.

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

If you are going through anything in your life no matter how great or how small, please take a moment to  listen to this song and to read the lyrics for the full impact. This is my new "go to" song for those times when my faith gets a little shaken.

Hi, thank you for this, it really spoke to me. I love this song, wondering about going on You Tube and putting it on my wall on Facebook, hope you don't mind.

I think we have been on a similar journey, so I related to much of your post. It also tied in with my new Pastor's sermon this morning, which I will probably blog on at some point.

God Bless - Nita

I've come to realize that none of us ever escape feeling down from time to time. We finished up a ladies Bible study at church last night and a couple of the ladies spoke from their heart about times in their lives when they went thru a terrible depression. I never want to see anybody suffer, but it's good to know that I'm not alone and that God is ALWAYS there, even in those times I wonder why He's letting me feel so horrible!!! So glad things are looking up for you. The SON is shining today so I think we'll all have a great day!!!
