I am so blessed to have friends from all ages and all walks of life. I work very closely with the servers at Dolly Parton's Stampede. I have bonded with new friends over the years of all ages. I have a young soul and young heart so I can bond well with any age, as long as we have common interests. This is the case with two of my youngest friends, Emerald and Brittany. We decided to get together during our shutdown so I could teach them how to make brownie cookies. I supervised. Emerald was the first to step up. She broke the eggs like a pro with no shells at all. Even though I had a slight panic attack since she broke them right over the bowl. But she aced it.
Next was Brittany. On her turn to stir the liquid in the dry mix, I forgot to warn her how brownie dry mix can "fly". Slight flyaways puff got on her clothes but she didn't let that slow her down.
Amid lots of good music playing, funny stories shared and tons of laughter and getting sidetracked, we ended up with 60 perfect brownies. (This platter has less than 60 on it because two young girls had to sample every pan that came out of the oven.)
After we got the baking done, I wanted to make the girls my famous flat-bread pizza.
They loved it. It was a huge success. I kicked them out of the kitchen so they watched videos and danced like maniacs and kept me entertained. I think they really enjoyed the evening. I know I did. It was great getting out of the house for awhile.
We did have an amazing time. It was a great break from all the self-imposed quarantines. Nothing says love like spending time together and eating chocolate. Life don't get much better than that.
