Weekend wrap up...

My weekend wrap ups are a lot any more since there's not a lot going on. I did get my drawer pulls for my chest in the Steam Punk room changed out. I have had the knobs for awhile, just had to get the screws cut down to where they fit in their good so I didn't scrape my hand on any excess. Very happy with the result.

Saturday I made potato salad to have for Sunday. I mixed up the baked beans but put them in the fridge ready for a crock pot on Sunday.

I had to go to the store and since I haven't bought hardly any candy for awhile, and since it was Easter, I fixed a little candy basket for myself for Easter. Now to be strong and let it stretch out for several weeks.

After I went to the store, my daughter needed to go and her hubby was at work so I went over to her house and sat with my granddaughter. My grandpuppy Auzzie was happy to have his Mamaw there for a visit. He is so exciteable and things he has to sit right beside me and give me puppy licks...which I try to avoid. Diana told me that when I call her and he hears my voice on the phone that he gets very excited.

I have worked the last 3 years on Easter Sunday and prior to that for a long time, both my kids have been going to their in-law families for Easter and me and Allen just cooked a dinner for the two of us. But this being my first Easter being home all day alone since he passed away, my daughter asked me to come and eat dinner with them. I'm not a big pasta person but she made this pasta that just looked amazing.

We had ham, turkey, potato salad & baked beans (my contributions). There was also deviled eggs, the pasta salad, hot rolls, cranberry sauce, corn and mashed potatoes and gravy. Dessert was lemon pound cake and brownies. It was all delicious and I ate way too much.

She had the table fixed up very festive. I got there just a little before time to eat and just stayed about an hour after dinner and went back home. My plan had been a late afternoon nap, but that never worked out. I didn't even go to bed until 11:30 last night.

It was a spur of the moment decision to go over for dinner but I was so glad I did. It beat sitting home alone.

Glad you got to have Easter dinner with them! Our daughter brought her two youngest (7 and 11) and we sat 6 feet apart on our front porch and visited while the kids played in the yard. It was so hard not to get hugs and kisses, but we were thrilled just to talk "in person". I'm beginning to wonder how much of this "social distancing" I'm going to be willing to do and how much is going to be worth it. We have a new granddaughter that won't even know who we are at this rate!
