Pizza Bread

Back where I used to live, a local pizza place served open pizza bread sandwiches. My family loved them. Many years ago, hubby and I experimented with our own version and it has become one of those comfort foods I love to have when I am tired and want something "special" for supper. We use Cobblestone Mill Sub Rolls, Ragu Traditional Pizza Quik, Colby/Monterey Jack cheese and I make mine with sausage. Hubby likes his with pepperoni, ham and bacon. You can pick your own topping and fix them anyway you want.

Just slice open your sub roll (unless you buy ones that come already sliced).

Lay them with the inside facing up on a cookie sheet. On a side note, cover the cookie sheet with aluminum foil. This will keep any spilled cheese or overflow from burning on the cookie sheet and you just throw the foil away when you are done for easy clean up.

Spread your pizza sauce on the inside of each piece of the bread.

I failed to get a picture of the next step, but you place your toppings on each side. I made mine with sausage and cheese, but you can do whatever you like for toppings (ham & pineapple, pepperoni, etc.)

Then I cover them with my favorite cheese, which is Colby/Jack but here again use what you like the best.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted like you like it. I make mine for 12 minutes.

Cut up and serve. I love these with a side order of Ruffles.

Hope you try them someday. Come back and let me know if you do and how they turn out.

Some recent finds....

I was at Walmart Saturday and saw this new griddle. Hubby says we need a new one and we probably do because ours is old and about worn out from so much use. This one caught my eye because it has a warmer tray underneath. Pretty cool. I was so excited to take a pic to show hubby that I forgot to look at the price. Oh well, maybe next trip.

We were on our way to Target and saw a new Thrift Store that had just opened. I did a quick traffic check behind me, zipped on my blinker and whipped into the parking lot. First thing that caught my eye was something I've been looking for over a year now. I wanted one for those Sunday mornings I make cinnamon rolls and have a couple left over for hubby. I always think "I wish I had a little cheese board and lid that I could set the remaining cinnamon rolls in for hubby." Well, now I do. And it was only $2.88!

At a yard sale on Saturday morning, I found this adorable hand stitched dresser scarf. I couldn't resist. I love vintage linens. I need to wash it up and decide where to display it.

These scarves were just too pretty to walk away from ... especially at just .25 cents each.

I knew Hubby would love this. Even though it is only about 5 years old, he collects the antique style so I thought he would like a modern one to add to his collection. Do you know what it is?

A three piece butter dish. You put a little ice in the bottom piece, set the top piece on with the butter and cover with the lid.  It keeps the butter cool all day.

Most of the ones he has are round with a piece inside the plate part that the butter sits on and ice or cold water goes underneath. This is my favorite one which happens to be the first one he ever bought.

I got my new cell phone case yesterday. I AM IN LOVE! It was from a shop on Amazon and I only pay $4.89 and that included shipping. It was exactly what I have been looking for.

I hope everyone enjoys their day today. Only 2 more days after today and I get a three day weekend. I can't wait.

Happy....

Happy is a frame of mind. I love that God gave me joy and lets me find pleasure in the little things. Even if it is simply a video of the Minions dancing.

I had someone tell me one time that nobody could be as happy as I am all the time. And this was from someone who professed to be a very extremely strong Christian. My answer is that yes, if you give God control of your life and place your faith in Him, yes you CAN be happy all the time like I am. That doesn't mean I don't get upset or I don't ever get aggravated, but I have learned to deal with it.

I hope you have a blessed day.

Tie-Dye

Back in the day.....I remember when we went through the tie dye phase and everybody had to have a tie dye shirt. I remember Mom letting us make our own. It was so much fun.

Now I see tie dye everywhere. I saw somewhere on line a bunch of tie dye bedspreads.

I saw tie dye curtains.

I even saw a tie dye purse.

But even though I liked it back in the day, I just cannot find a love of it like I had back then. However, I gotta admit that the tie dye (water marbling) nails are kind of drawing me in.

Hubby saw a video on You Tube on how to do it. I just might have to try that out one of these days.

4th of July Decor Ideas

Not sure where the summer is going, but it just dawned on me that the 4th is next week and I haven't decorated yet. I went to Pinterest and searched for ideas. This would be really easy to do.

If I could get an old pallet, I would do this in a heart beat and lean it up against the porch facing the road.

These USA Stars would be easy to make.

I love these nails. But my hand is not steady enough to do the lines.

I need a chalkboard and colored chalk.

This is cute.

Now this is super duper simple.

Love, love, love this.

Again, something that would be so easy to do.

This is a cute and easy and inexpensive idea.

Now, I could easily do this. I have red, I have blue and I have sparkle.

I just may need to do this for church on Sunday.

A good week so far....

I bought a new tablecloth about 4 weeks ago but have been so busy tired lazy that I just now got around to putting it on the table. I am really into medallions right now and I fell in love with this when I saw it.

The pattern goes good with my Town and Country pattern in my Pyrex bowl.

I found a matching dishtowel to go with it.

I also found this medallion rug that compliments it very well.

When I came home the other day, the UPS man had dropped off a couple of boxes.

My new shirt that I wanted to get for Conference was in it. I love it.

I got my Team Shirt a couple of weeks ago. That's two new Thirty-One shirts for Conference.

I also got a couple of little mini zipper pouches. These patterns are so cute.

It's been a pretty good week so far.
