Home Free

I don't know if you have ever heard this group or not. But they are one of my favorites. Thought I would share what is my "best of the best" list from them.

A little vintage...

Several things I started to collect, got one or two and then got sidetracked. So I am going to start back collecting little butter pat plates. Yes, they are so small they hold a pat of butter. But look at the cute patterns. I only had two in my collection. One solid white and one white with a blue rim. But I am loving some of these.

Another is salt dips. I do love salt dips. I have some in these clear colors.

I had one similar to the little blue one on the left. I would love to have some more colored ones like this.

I have several of the little nesting hen salt cellars, but there are some colors I have never found that I would love....like the bright yellow one below.

I would love to find a swan salt cellar. Isn't this beautiful

But I also love the colorful ones. Especially this pink one.

I also wouldn't mind finding one of these salt boxes.

Or the one with the rooster.

I wouldn't mind finding an old metal recipe box.

Or better yet a wooden one with old recipes in it. Check this one out. There is a recipe from 1935 for corn bread.

Whatever I decide to collect next, I just want life to get back to normal so I can actually go to antique stores again.

Corelle and Pyrex

Since our local Corningware Outlet went out of business last fall, I never see the Pyrex storage containers with printed patterns anywhere anymore. I just remembered today that they sell them on the Corelle site so I went to take a gander. They have some new ones I have never seen. Not a fan of sloths so this one wasn't a big hit with me.

Not normally a monkey fan, but I eat circus peanuts a lot and they fit perfectly in one of these bowls. So I'm thinking I may need this one just to store those in. Doesn't hurt that it is yellow and my kitchen is in yellow and red.

Next was the animal lover one. I have one with black cats on it that I love for Halloween, but this is kind of cute. Don't have a pet but have two granddoggies and I love cats. Had one for 17 years. So this is a maybe.

I love things that are inspirational like this be grateful bowl. It's cute. A possibility.

But I did fall head over heals in love with this one. For somebody who bakes a lot, my Pyrex measuring cup gets a lot of use. So I do like this. I may just have to order it and the monkey.

While I was on their site, I decided to look at dishes. I have a ton of mismatched Corelle plates that I have collected over the years simply because I found them on good deals at antique stores or yard sales. But I have been wanting to get rid of all of them and get me an entire set of actual dishes. Sold the ones I had four years ago because I was tired othem and didn't like the square design any longer. They had a lot I thought were pretty. This were kind of cute.

I was trying to look at red ones but this was all they had and like I said, not a fan of square.

But since my dining room is in blues, I thought about keeping a few of the mismatched to use in the kitchen and to get a new set for when I eat in the dining room. This are simple and basic, but didn't knock my socks off.

These were kind of pretty. Just wasn't sure about the greenish yellow portion. Not one of my favorite colors.

This one is a lot of different colors so it caught my eye.

But then I hit upon the blue patterns. I did like this one, but wish there was a wider blue band around the outer edge.

Liked this one better because there was a wider band on the outer edges, but still wasn't what I was looking for. I wanted a busier blue pattern.

Then bingo! Busy pattern around the outer edges, salad plate is loaded with pattern.

Since this is the tablecloth I want for the dining room, I think this set would be a good fit.

Some may say that is way too much blue, but that's the room I have all my blue Pyrex in on my blue shelf and it's one of my favorite rooms. The heart wants what the heart wants. And my heart wants this really bad.

Beautiful moments

We have had beautiful weather the past few day. My front porch faces the east, so I have enjoyed some pretty sunrises.

My back porch faces the west, so I have seen spectacular sunsets.

And then that night, we had a ring around the moon. Look toward the outer edges of the photo, not the bright light around the moon.

It all reminded me of the beautiful sunrises and sunsets and unique moons I have seen at beaches in my life time. With the quarantine, know I can't go to the beach right now, made me want to go any more.

So instead, I drove out to Douglas Lake overlook. Enjoy some beautiful red bud trees. They are everywhere in East Tennessee.

And sat in my car (to avoid others) and just took in the breathtaking view of the lake, the dam, and French Broad River. I got out long enough to snap a photo. Then headed back home to reality.

Then when I was on Pinterest that night, I discovered this sign. I would love to find one like that. All in all it has been some beautiful weather, beautiful days and beautiful moment.

Sunday's Songs

I want to wish my husband a happy birthday in heaven. He would have been 68 years old today. I picked my Sunday songs from some of his favorites.

Just a few new things.....

I did a little crafting today. I made this little no sew runner for my bar.

It's an Easter one so I'll just have it on for the next week but at least I will have it for every year from now on.

I did another Easter one for my kitchen table.

And I made the little yellow dish towel to go with a chicken one I keep on my oven door all spring.

Then I made some curtains for my little bathroom window. These were actually oversize dinner napkins. Didn't take long to convert them to curtains.  Those are the colors in the shower curtain so they go really good in my beach bathroom.

So that's my accomplishments for Saturday.

Friday's Finds

I like to share things with you that I find that I like. Well, today's finds are a little different. I actually reactivated as a consultant with Thirty-One Gifts after taking almost a year off from it. First thing I did was find some things I liked and then placed an order to build my stock up for promoting the products by actually carrying them.

My favorite tote/purse they ever made was the Retro Metro. I have five of these. Two in brown patterns and three in black patterns. This is the first time I have bought a multi-colored pattern. They are great for so many things, but I use mine for overnight visits with friends. Just the perfect size for a change of clothing and jammies.

Then I ordered the zipper pouch to coordinate with it for all my necessities.

I love the large utility tote and the medium utility tote that they have had for years. Well guess what? They now have the Tiny Utility Tote. This is going to be just the perfect size to take books back to McKay's to exchange them for other books. If life ever gets back to normal and I get to go to McKay's again.

I needed a smaller cross body bag so I bought this one which is called the Half-Moon cross body I love the block monogram. The color is distressed denim so it has a pale blue tint to the bag.

Since it is a smaller bag, I needed a smaller wallet. I love the Light Traveler Card Wallet. And I went ahead and got the coordinating wristlet strap which can be used on the wristlet or as a key chain.

I am very happy with my finds. I am taking up an order as part of my launch party to get me back in the groove. You can feel free to go check out my website to see the new spring catalog. If you do place an order, it will ship direct to you for arrival in 10-14 days.
