Thirsty on Thursday?

I come from a long line of tea drinkers. They love sweet tea with lots of ice. Some add lemon. Some love hot tea as well. Where do I fall into the category? I despise tea. I have tried and tried to learn to like it since I was a little girl. Never happened. Not gonna happen. I just do not like tea. HOWEVER, I absolutely love anything to do with tea. Such as tea pots, tea cups, tea sets, tea for ones. Everything. So I thought today I would showcase all my tea servings.
Each one has a special story behind it that evokes a memory. I don't just randomly buy them. Some are gifts and some are memories of vacations and one is even a visit to Mom's and she was fixing breakfast and I saw a yard sale in the alley. Ran over there just to see and got a yellow teapot for just $1.00. Like I said, lots of memories from each one of these. Enjoy.

Who's hungry?

Being off work and not being able to go anywhere but store and bank is not good for me. First off, I get bored easy with being home alone. When I get stressed, I can't think of what to do so I get bored. When I get bored, I like to read. When I read, I like to eat. Since I like to eat, I like to bake. Do you see where I'm headed with this? The quarantine is not working well with my waistline. I am still trying to eat half way decent and drink as much water as I can, but I have not been doing good. I just went back through my camera photos for pics of food I have baked or cooked that were not all that healthy for me since I have been off work. Thought I would share some of them with you. Of course, you know ice cream is at the top of my list. Smothered in Hershey's syrup and hot caramel sauce.

I did fix some healthy meals. I love meatloaf, baked beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. So I have had this a couple of times. May have it again this week.

Ate a lot of homemade pizza. Either flat bread or on sub rolls as a pizza bread.

Been craving Never Fail Fudge but I had never made it. Well, the label lies. It failed. Wasn't the fudge problem though. I have an old pan I have used for years. During the fudge making, it decided to start flaking pieces off of the inside. So I  had to throw away the fudge and the pan. Need a new pan now.

And I  have been drinking way too much pop. I was down to almost none at all, or only a glass if I had something that just screamed for a pop to go with it.

Have made lots, and I mean lots of peanut butter cookies from a mix. It's a small bag mix. Add oil and water and makes 12 cookies. Just right to space out over several days. Well, shoot. Now I'm wanting to get another bag of mix and make some more.

First day of quarantine, I made peanut butter candy and oatmeal no bake cookies. Yummy. May make some more of the cookies this week.

Then I tried Sea Salt Caramel ice cream. Not my best idea ever. I would give up chocolate for life if I could eat this every day. I love salty items and ice cream and caramel. I knew from the first bite that I was in big trouble.

Don't laugh, rarely anybody like this stuff. But I eat potted meat and crackers with a side of deal pickles 3 or 4 times a week. And not I didn't buy these many cans. This was a stock photo.

One day I made chocolate chip cookies AND more peanut butter ones. Told you they are my faves right now.

I can't count how many batches of brownie cookies I have made in 2020. One day, I decided I am not making any more for a long time. Then a friend invited me over and wanted me to teach her how to make them.

And she wanted some of my homemade pizza as well so there was yet another night of not so healthy eating. We did decide though that there were a lot of veggies on her dishes so we did technically have a serving of veggies with our pizza....they just weren't edible.

A couple of times I have had home fried cheeseburgers with pickle, mustard and onion. I fried them in an iron skillet. That is the best way to do burgers.

I made a spice cake with caramel icing and had some with sliced peaches. I love that together as a snack.

The other day I made French toast for the first time in my life. I love this stuff but it is my go-to breakfast out meal at a couple of local restaurants so I never had tried to make it. HUGE success. It was delicious.

Well there are some things that will make you hungry even if you weren't before you read this. Have a great day. Stay safe!

My mind is running rampant....

It is so hard to focus when you have nothing you really need to focus on. I remember being a young girl, maybe 5 or 6 and I got the 3 day measles. I was quarantined to the couch and the bed. Couldn't get up except to go to the little girls room. Daddy walked up to the local drug store and bought me a new coloring book, crayons and my very own bottle of 7 Up. I was waited on hand and foot. Mom kept me covered up and warm and was there with medicine and water to help get me well. Now that was a good way to be QUARANTINED. For those who have read my blog for years or are friends with me on Facebook, you all know I have unlimited energy and like to go non-stop from sun-up to sundown. You can imagine how I am doing with all this "stay-at-home" time. I can't even decide simple things like what to have for dinner. I have fixed French toast a few times which is something I love but never fix. Now I am sick of it.

I fried bacon once or twice. It was good. But for somebody who doesn't like to cook and has had to cook for 30 days now, I can't even enjoy bacon anymore.

I am eating way to much for somebody who was doing so good on losing weight so I would look better in t-shirts and shorts this summer.
I was going through some old pictures today and found my pics from my trip to Miami last summer. This was one of me and my friend Danielle on the plane ride. Look how smooth and stylish my hair was on the plane. You couldn't even tell I have any natural curl.

Fast forward to later that day after being in the Miami heat all day and the curls sprang back to life in a heartbeat. Hard to believe that is the same hair I spent so much time straightening and smoothing earlier that day.

I was putting a binder clip on my brown sugar bag the other day and I thought "Somebody needs to make some pretty ones for use in the kitchen." Well, I went to Pinterest to get ideas. Apparently somebody else thought the old black clips needed "dolled-up" a little.

These are just the most adorable things I've seen. But since I also use this clips for chip bags, I think it would be disconcerting to open my cabinet and see eyeballs staring at me.

Here are some DIY ones that they have used washi tape on. I love washi tape. May try this. IF we ever leave our houses again.

Speaking of which, are you sick and tired of the people who are doing videos and typing lengthy posts about what the "truth" is about the virus, who's lying to us, what they aren't telling us, etc. And people are sharing it like it is gospel. And I'm over here thinking "Um, okay precious by the looks of your profile you are about 18 or 19 years old and no more than the doctors? And don't get me started on the stupid conspiracy theories that are going around. It is what it is and it will be done when it is done. End of story.

But all the things that people think they know just makes them look really stupid in some cases. Reminded me of one of my favorite scenes from Guardians of the Galaxy. Her quote is very appropriate today.

Have a great day!

Weekend wrap up...

My weekend wrap ups are a lot any more since there's not a lot going on. I did get my drawer pulls for my chest in the Steam Punk room changed out. I have had the knobs for awhile, just had to get the screws cut down to where they fit in their good so I didn't scrape my hand on any excess. Very happy with the result.

Saturday I made potato salad to have for Sunday. I mixed up the baked beans but put them in the fridge ready for a crock pot on Sunday.

I had to go to the store and since I haven't bought hardly any candy for awhile, and since it was Easter, I fixed a little candy basket for myself for Easter. Now to be strong and let it stretch out for several weeks.

After I went to the store, my daughter needed to go and her hubby was at work so I went over to her house and sat with my granddaughter. My grandpuppy Auzzie was happy to have his Mamaw there for a visit. He is so exciteable and things he has to sit right beside me and give me puppy licks...which I try to avoid. Diana told me that when I call her and he hears my voice on the phone that he gets very excited.

I have worked the last 3 years on Easter Sunday and prior to that for a long time, both my kids have been going to their in-law families for Easter and me and Allen just cooked a dinner for the two of us. But this being my first Easter being home all day alone since he passed away, my daughter asked me to come and eat dinner with them. I'm not a big pasta person but she made this pasta that just looked amazing.

We had ham, turkey, potato salad & baked beans (my contributions). There was also deviled eggs, the pasta salad, hot rolls, cranberry sauce, corn and mashed potatoes and gravy. Dessert was lemon pound cake and brownies. It was all delicious and I ate way too much.

She had the table fixed up very festive. I got there just a little before time to eat and just stayed about an hour after dinner and went back home. My plan had been a late afternoon nap, but that never worked out. I didn't even go to bed until 11:30 last night.

It was a spur of the moment decision to go over for dinner but I was so glad I did. It beat sitting home alone.

Saturday Shoe Shopping

We can't go anywhere, because there is nowhere to go. My shopaholic side is having withdrawals. Some things I can order online but that's not as fun for me. But I have done it more this past month than I have my whole life. But one thing I can never order from the internet is shoes. And that is killing me because flip flop/sandal weather is here and I want new shoes. Obviously wouldn't have anywhere to wear them, but I could at least have them on stand by. So I went virtual "window shopping" for some sandals just to get ideas.

I love the toe loop sandals. These are cute and look really comfy.

I like them even better in the green.

The blue are the exact color of my jeans.

Obviously I love these since they are pink.

And if it is shiny or sparkles, I am going to love it. And these I am adoring.

Basic simple and sparkly. I could see these on my feet.

Then I found these. And my heart stopped.
They have Swarovski Crystals on the strap. So I thought, I could definitely love these. Till I checked the price. $595.00 on sale for $416.50. If I pay that much for something it better be covered in real diamond

I guess you know the first day they announce that it is safe to go out and that all store our open, I am shoe shopping.
