Faith Filled Friday

For many years, my Friday posts were always about Faith. I wanted to start that segment back up because I really enjoyed writing it. Whether you have faith in God, faith in mankind, faith in family and friends, whatever you place your faith in, it is one of the most positive impacts you can have in your life. Do I always have faith? As much as I like to believe I do, I'm like everybody else. I strive for it, but I don't always keep it as strong as I want. It's my belief that faith is achieved by having hope. When you have hope and faith together and sprinkle that with your dreams and goals, it can be a powerful thing.

Sometimes we put our faith in others and when we are hurt or let down, we find ourselves struggling, overthinking, and yes even stressing over things we have no control over. Only we realize in the end that we were worried about nothing. How many wasteful moments of our life do we lose happiness or peace by worrying about things that are not even happening?

I have the dearest friend in the world who knows my mind better than I do. He can tell when I am overthinking things. He calls me on it and sets me back on course. He is constantly encouraging me to dream BIG. It's in my darkest moments when I start to despair and he pulls me back to the reality that I cling to my faith and know, it's okay. I can have my moments and my crazy thoughts. But I can't park a camper and live there.

Those times are the times that I am most aware how much I need faith. Faith is that unshakeable, unquestionable mindset that lets you know everything is going to be okay. It's that feeling that can keep you focused and keep your eyes on the journey not just on one specific moment in time. So have faith and cling to your hope and dream big.

Top 10 in 5 Days

So far, my week has been good and it feels great to be blogging again. I have had some things that I haven't shared with you from this week. It goes back for the past 5 days. It started Saturday when I got to go do some shopping after work with my daughter and one of my granddaughters. When my daughter picked me up, she brought me two throw pillow covers for fall that she had gotten. I am so in love with them. Can't wait for fall to decorate.

That set the stage for the day. We went to Walmart to look for some of the fat quarters for fall runners. I love these. Especially the plaid roll. I have got to get me a sewing machine. That is all there is to it.

Then we went to Hobby Lobby where I picked up some fall decor that I loved. The little orange cup is a small enamel cup and I can't wait to sit it out. I have to find a fall colored vase for my flowers or go buy some more so they can go in my McCoy pitcher that belonged to my Mamaw Eden.

For two days I was craving meatloaf. But I was lazy. Then finally, I decided it was meatloaf night. So I made homemade mashed potatoes, baked beans, meatloaf and corn. Even had some hot rolls. I am ashamed to say I ate seconds on the mashed potatoes and gravy. But it was so good.

One night I wished all evening I had made the little $1.00 pack of peanut cookies. About 9:45 I figured oh what the heck. It is only 12 cookies. You add oil and water and they only take 12 minutes to cook. So I made them. They turned out great as well.

Then last night, I went back to being lazy and ordered Pizza Hut. It was greasy. But I am one of the rare people who love a good greasy pizza. And with Italian sausage for the topping, it was perfect for me. Don't laugh. But when I eat pizza I crave chocolate. So if you see me with pizza you will usually see M & M's on the side. I have been doing that since I was 18 and have even been known to carry a pack of M & M's in my purse if we go out to eat pizza in a restaurant.

I have been buying buttons, had some from friends, and got more from another friend Sunday. So I decided to start making more little Christmas tree button ornaments to sell this fall.

They are all different. No two are ever alike.

This was one of my favorites. You can see some of the buttons have designs on them. Since they are made with floral wire, when you hang them you can straighten and twist them to how you like them.

After a full day yesterday and making trees last night, I decided to retire to bed with my book, a cold Pepsi and a box of Junior Mints.

I am odd because Pepsi and chocolate before I go to bed relaxes me and it doesn't keep me up. Once my head hit the pillow last night, I was out and slept 7 hours which is a good night sleep for me. I am heading antiquing this morning. I hope to have some great finds to show you tomorrow. Have a great Thursday.
