Weekend Wrap Up

Well, I was so proud of myself for actually having time to do my regular Week End Wrap Up Monday morning post. So happy to have things to blog about. It went so well that I did Tuesday's and Wednesday's as well and scheduled them to post on the appropriate day. So I go in to do Thursdays and notice that in all my excitement Monday, I forgot to hit publish!! Ugh! So here is my weekend wrap up on a Thursday instead of Monday.........

It was an amazing three day weekend for me. It started off Friday morning with a visit down the road to my friend Georgeanna's yard sale. I picked up some holiday table linens.

And a beautiful red scarf for winter.

I got this vintage glass saucer.

And a set of 6 dinner plates in sandwich glass. I am in love.

I have been wanting a unique cake plate and cover and she had the perfect one for my kitchen.

I also picked up a pumpkin, a herringbone scarf and scarecrow salt and pepper set but I forgot to take pics of those. Everything I got came to $12.00. So then I went to my friend Sherrie's yard sale where I picked up a quilted travel bag. 

A soft blue blanket for my new beach room.

And a small storage trunk for the same room.

My total cost at Sherrie's was $10.00. When I got home from there, the three youngest Grands arrived to spend the day and night. We had free tickets to Sevier Air Jump & Ninja Warrior course. We got to spend 1 hour and 20 minutes in there while they jumped, Ninja'd, and played dodge ball games. They had a blast.

After there, we went to Walmart where the kids went through the toy department to give me ideas for Christmas gifts. Colby wants this ball really bad he says. So I'll see if he asks me or Santa for it.

Then we came home and vegged out and watched TV. The next morning, Colby had a baseball game that morning and football that evening. Me and the girls made a quick stop at Hobby Lobby where Alexis picked out this thread and these beads for us to make some little yarn and needle ornaments for the Christmas tree they want in their room.

Then we headed with my daughter up to Gatlinburg for Colby's football game. I love when he plays there. It is an awesome field and the view is breathtaking.

He's #3 and is the quarterback. He took a few heavy hits but he just gets up and keeps on going. It was a good game from both teams but his team pulled it out at the end and finished strong. They have one more season game which I will be going to and then they head to the playoffs for their age group super bowl. I have never been to a ball game of kids that are 7 and 8 years old that played like they were in high school or college. It was an amazing, nail-biting sitting-on-the-edge-of-your-seat game.

After the game, I went home and just vegged out. Sunday morning in children's church, we made get well cards for a little girl in Nashville, Caroline, who has Cancer. She is the friend of my friend Georgeanna's granddaughter. My little class has prayed for her many times and follows her fight with this horrible disease. Little Caroline is only about 4 or 5 years old. One of my 8 year olds has a heart of gold and she doesn't just make a card, she writes a personal letter inside every card. I love her words of encouragement on the front. 

I, who never slows down, actually came home from morning church and took a two hour nap. GASP! I know that is hard to believe, but I did. Then I went back to church last night for choir practice and evening service. My granddaughter, Shelby, went with me for the children's night service. When we came out it was so cold and dreary and pouring the rain. 

Shelby called to let her mom know she was on her way home afterwards and my daughter said to tell me they had made homemade chili if I wanted some to take home. Well, duh, yes. I was freezing. It was so delicious. I have enough left over for my lunch today.

After I ate supper, I went onto Facebook to see what my friends and family had been up to. My little football player from Saturday had another baseball game on Sunday where they played another great game, giving them the win for the fall State Tournament. Congratulations to the RBI Redstitch 108 team on another amazing season. Colby is the one dead center of the front row with the black sleeves on. This boy loves his sports.

Well, as you can tell in my usual fashion I crammed a lot into one weekend and enjoyed every single moment of it. I just love my life.
