Sunday's Psalms

My favorite verse from Psalms this week is Psalms 118:24

Plus I want to say Happy Grandparents day to any of my readers who are blessed with grandchildren. Whether you are Mamaw & Papaw, Nana & Pop, Grandma & Grandpa, Granny, Mimi, Grandmother and Grandfather or any form thereof, have a Happy Grandparent's Day. Here are my five blessings.

A beautiful day

It was a beautiful day yesterday. Sunshine and beautiful skies. I went to a neighboring city looking for something specific. I found what I needed. So stay tuned for a new craft soon. I left my house at 7:30. Got home and took off the trash. Then I went in the opposite direction to look for something else I needed. After that it was time to go to the grocery store and get some groceries. I got home at 6:30. Just let me say 11 hours running around, walking while shopping and enjoying the day almost wore me out. But after a good nights sleep, I'm ready to tackle the world again. Have an awesome Friday!

Random Wednesday

Some random items I saw that I am thinking about making.

If I was made to go camping, I think I could camp in this.

Some humor for today.

Have a happy over the hump day!

My newest craft projects...

My newest craft projects I did yesterday. Started out with plain wooden birdhouses and mini rolling pins from Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree. Painted them and put scrapbook paper on. Then I put some string & ribbon bows with a little button on them. I am very pleased with the way they look.

I have this little galvanized bucket from Hobby Lobby and I put 3 rolling pins in for every holiday.

I sat one of the bird houses on the books on my coffee table. I haven't decided where to put these other one yet.

I am happy with the way it all turned out.

Sunday's Psalms

I'm going to start a new series for Sunday mornings. I am going to quote one of my favorite verses from Psalms each Sunday I'm going to call this series Sunday's Psalms. The first one is Psalms 46:10.

Fall has exploded at Mamaw's Place...

We are entering my favorite time of year. I call it "Decorating Season". I'm a fanatic about decorating for each of the upcoming months. So tomorrow is September 1. For me, that means I decorate for fall. Just thought I'd take you on a tour of my fall decor. I did include a close up on my Steampunk teapot since I made it from a Dollar Tree blue plastic pumpkin. I thought it was pretty cool. So here's my favorite decor spots.

Hope you liked "visiting" my home. Feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts. I love hearing from my readers.

My random thoughts today...

I need a new living room set. I am some blues and grays in my living room and a few light - medium brown items. I saw this set the other day. It was super soft and comfort. When I tried it out, I didn't want to get up.

And the pillows have every color in my living room. I think this may be the one.

The new 2025 Happy Planners are out and I went to check them out at Hobby Lobby. I fell in love with this one. It is the dashboard layout, which I have never used before. This may be the one.

Haybales and cornstalks @ Walmart. Fall is almost here y'all.

I made this display for my bathroom in the spring from a galvanized container at Dollar Tree.

Decided to give it a facelift for fall. I love it.

Well, there just some fun stuff for Friday. Have a blessed day.

Fourteen months

My sweet babies. Meet Gracie (left) and Goose (right). They are a sister and brother from the same litter. He was the first born and she was the fourth from a litter of five. The lady I got them from still has the other three siblings, all black and white with a small spot of orange calicos. Goose is an orange tabby and the mom was a calico. Gracie however is a Diluted Calico. Which means she has the grays and some orange blended in. It is a special rare breed and only 1 in every 1000 calicos have this coloring. They were born April 13, 2023 and they came to live in their forever home around the last week of June 2023.

Cats are considered kittens until they are 2 years old and they are just 16 months. So technically they are kittens but to me they are my babies. They get along so good. But they also rat each other out. If one is doing something they shouldn't the other comes to me and just stares at me until I follow them. It's hysterical. They have their favorite places to lay, but the majority of the time they lay within a few feet of each other or on the couch together. It's so adorable. I love my fur babies.

They are definitely house cats. I did have them fixed but they still have their claws. They don't ever go outside because I don't really want them to. But if I open the door so they can come out to the porch, they stare outside and dart back in and hide. They are so much fun to watch.

Leave me a comment if you are a fur baby parent. I would love to hear about your babies.

A simple Ghost...

This was the easiest and cutest ghost to make. You buy the soft white shammy towel in the auto department @ Dollar Tree. I had some popsicle sticks and a piece of black felt. I found the styrofoam cone and ball @ Hobby Lobby. You will see there are eyelashes from Dollar Tree. I thought about making it a girl ghost, but the eyelashes didn't stick good.

First step is to stick the popsicle sticks in wherever you want the arms to be. Next, insert two toothpicks in the head.

Then you just insert the head into the body.

Cut two oval eyes out of the felt and glue them on the cloth. Finally, just drape it over the cone and adjust it how you want your ghost to look.

I'm going to go to go to Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree to find a small pumpkin that I can paint a jack-o-lantern face on to attach to floral wire and hang it on one arm. I'll keep you posted when I get that part finished.

Have a great day.

Weekend Wrap Up

My Amazon order arrived with my new pillow cases and pillow shams for my futon in the spare room. I also went to TJ Maxx and found the perfect throw for the back of the couch. I am in love with it.

I did a craft project yesterday afternoon. I used an old picture frame I had around the house. I painted it with a soft gray/taupe with chalk paint. Next, I cut the fabric to fit inside the frame. Once I starched it to lay flat, I glued it to poster board so it wouldn't shift and put it in the frame under the glass. I had purchased two cabinet handles that I got at Lowe's for $2.28 each and mounted them on the ends.

This made a cute little tray (sorry about the shadows in the picture, they reflected on the glass).

I put it on my dining room table with some of my fall items since the fabric is orange, yellow and green. Perfect for the upcoming season.

I put my fall runner on the table and sat it in the middle. I am very happy with the end results.

Have a great week!

Sunday's

Sunday's in my life were always about family. Sunday school at 10:00, Fried chicken and mashed potatoes after church. Some Sunday dinners were at Mamaw Eden's. Some were at our house. Mom usually made a cake or pie. I remember her homemade lemon meringue pie and chocolate. Not to mention her chocolate cakes or her spice cake with caramel ice and some ice cold peaches. That's what I loved about Sunday's.
