Can't get it together

This is one of my favorite words for those moments in life when you just don't know up from down or right from left. Those times when you go to do something and get so sidetracked that three days later you realize you never did it. It's those moments when you are pulled in so many different directions you feel like Stretch Armstrong.

Those times that you can use the phrase "which end is up".

It has been such a crazy month that I am feeling definitely discombobulated this morning.

I haven't even got my day started yet and I am already confused.

This sign describes it the best.

Let's hope the day gets better.

So beautiful....

I saw this on Facebook last night. A new channel had posted it. It arched over the Ohio River in Stout, OH which was an hour and a half northwest of where I grew up. Isn't it beautiful. I really needed this today.

It made me think of this old poem....

God Hath Not Promised

God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

Weekend Wrap Up

Yesterday was so busy that time just got away from me so I will do my weekend wrap up post this morning. I have been wanting a tablet for my Thirty-One business and got a deal the other day that was too good to pass up. I love Samsung products and the tablet is wonderful. Of course, since it is mostly for my business, I had to have a case in pink. I'm all about dots now so this one was perfect.

Saturday was our Fall Product Premier for Thirty-One. A friend of mine brought this cute little planner I can use for the rest of the year. I love the little birds on it.

The new catalog is going to be awesome. The fall products are different than anything I have ever seen. I really do think this is the best layout of any catalog yet and I am in love with several of the new patterns.

Since normally the basic colors are pinks and blacks, I was thrilled to find some navy and some brown in the new line. This new pattern called Navy Dancing Dots is my favorite in the new catatlog.

But I also love the fact that some of the storage bins have chalk boards on the front so you can write on them and change them as you organize.

A lot of the ladies at the premier went nuts over the new paisley pattern for fall.

And the new Chevron Dots pattern is going to be a hit. They are also introducing a new product...a clothes hamper. That is just one of the many new things they have in store for fall.

This was our free amenity for attending conference. It is a new thermal in the Chevron Dot. They made an announcement that they are changing the lining in some of the thermals and they will now be 100% waterproof and you can actually put ice directly in them. In the past, they recommended those frozen blocks you freeze.

My daughter called me Saturday evening and told me she had stopped at a yard sale. She found me this Glasbake bowl for just $2.00.

But her big find was this set of 3 mixing bowls in the Pyrex clear bottom style from the late 1980's. It was $4.00 for the whole set. I haven't had time to clean them up and shine them up yet but I am loving them.

Sunday, I went to church and came home and took it easy all day. I fixed breakfast for supper and just relaxed. All in all, it was a great weekend.

Better late than never...

I have had a very busy day and am very late in posted, but this is the first chance I have had. I want to wish my daughter Diana and my son-in-law Michael a Happy Anniversary. They have been married 17 years today. Happy anniversary, Diana and Michael.

You could knock me down with a feather.....

Sometimes things just happen that we totally do not expect but they are such a huge surprise that we could be knocked down with a feather. That happened to me yesterday. But first, to go back a couple of months in time....

I was discussing my upcoming trip to the Thirty-One National Conference. We have one night that is an awards type evening where people get acknowledged for promoting up in their position. Most of conference is casual dress like capri's and 31 t-shirts. But that night is a big deal so we all dress up a little.

I had shared with my friend Stevie that I needed to find me a dress. She recommended I wear a little black dress which, if you are from the South, you know you should own at least one little black dress. Well, I don't. I told Stevie it was a good idea and I needed to look for one. I have until the end of July so I haven't really started looking yet.

Flash forward to the present.....

Stevie has been on vacation with her family in Tybee Island for two weeks. She took a day trip to Savannah and told me she bought me something while she was there.

You guessed it....A LITTLE BLACK DRESS!

I. Was. Floored! I was thrilled. She has excellent taste and I couldn't wait to see it. And when I did see it I knew she had picked out the perfect dress. It is one I can dress up or dress down depending on the occasion. She even bought me a beautiful yellow necklace to compliment it and a pair of yellow earrings. All that is left is for me to find a pair of strappy cute sassy sandals to wear with it.

It fit me perfect. I don't think I have ever owned a dress this cute that fit this perfect, like it was custom made. Thank you Stevie from the bottom of my heart for your sweet, sweet gift.

Over the years I have shared some good recipes (at least I think they are good). I have compiled a post of all my favorites. See something you think looks good? Just click on the title over the pic and it will take you to the post I wrote that has the step by step recipe with pictures included on how to make it.
